Where you’ll be

Gurley, Alabama, United States

Entrance number one to beautiful Hays Nature Preserve is approximately one mile away from Cedar Cove is temporarily closed as 100 year old bridges are being replaced and widen for walking and biking lanes. The second entrance into the Preserve is open and accessible from Highway 431 South. This entrance is 4.1 from CC. Walk or bike the miles of beautiful paved or natural paths with views of Flint River and wildlife. It’s a little piece of heaven.

Don’t use all that energy at Preserve...... there’s more.......
Burritt On the Mountain/overlook is amazing if you don’t mind heights/tour the many log cabins and the Burritt’s home.
Monte Sano State Park/check out the 1930’s cabins.....a lesson in the bare necessities/so cute/ for one person maybe two if you don’t mind bumping into each other.
Big Springs/downtown/another little piece of heaven. This crystal clear spring brought much wildlife to its edge along with John Hunt in 1805 and why Huntsville now thrives. Spring is largest limestone spring in north Alabama producing 7 to 20 million gallons of water a day depending on time of year Ducks and koi have replaced the wildlife
Huntsville Botanical Gardens/absolutely beautiful with a seasonal butterfly house
Mooresville/4 historical buildings+1 adorable house + 1 adorable lady = lots of delicious ice cream......if you happen to hit it when open.....check those hours first/1818 Farms also in Mooresville and another Huntsville exclusive/ look for her goodies around town
Cathedral Caverns-just 23 min away
Last but not least...something about Space and Rockets ....probably heard of it already.
Want to rent a boat for the day? Honeycomb Haven Campgrounds will
get you on the lake. Holidays book out in advance otherwise you can call the day before/20 min from CC.
