A lovely self contained en suite double bedroom that is very comfortable and well designed on a 2 double bedroom house.
Your room occupies the whole upstairs of the house - all the lights are on dimers, and there is real wood flooring and a stone clad walk in shower. You'd be sharing the kitchen and living amenities with a couple that lives in the other room. There's a nice dining room with Concertina doors and lots of light and a nice garden. You're welcome to make use of the elliptical machine.
The house is in a quiet location and close to the town centre. Only 2 minutes walk to the bus stop and near the train station. It is near the Theatre and the Cinema and well located for the Cheltenham races, science, music, literature, Jazz festivals etc.
Off street parking and wireless internet are available as well as a TV and all mod cons.
I really hope you enjoy your stay :)
Perfect accommodation for our requirements. Great size bedrooms and plenty of room for us all. House very clean & tidy and all appliances & linen to hand. Ideal location for Cheltenham Town & the Racecourse which was the reason for our visit.
Lidia was great host and very helpful with information on town.
1. Wrong address given for arrival
2. House was a tip and not ready for arrival. Remained a tip for duration of stay.
3. No keys were ready for us until the evening of our arrival.
4. We had booked the entire place but were made to share with several unexpected visitors - the details of which the host was unsure of. No key to our room to secure our valuables until the second day.
5. No heating and a leaking boiler.
6. Host asked us to help move beds and wardrobes around on arrival.
1. Wrong address was nothing to do with me.
2.You actually rented a room not the house, this was made clear before hand, you actually got a choice of rooms, you did not communicate what time you would arrive by phone.
3.why would keys be ready before you arrived - how would you collect them?
4. You didn't even ask for a key until I asked if you wanted one, sorry for conversing with you about who was actually in the house apart from you as I did say the other rooms were booked. You could easily have changed accommodation if you did not want to share and paid the going fee for the race week days for a house - this is what my other guests did - but you could not afford it.
5. There was electric heating - but you said you did not need it, now you are dying otherwise. You also said you should buy a house in Cheltenham and Cheltenham Race week would pay for the mortgage, very funny Alan don't apply for an economics course just yet.
6. There was heating - electric - you said you did not need it, and i did say the boiler was not right - your friend said he understood as his was on the blink too. It seems a bit 2 faced to now bring this up after 4 days in the house?
7. Yes you did move an empty small wardrobe in between the beds of the room you decided to take instead of the other one - I suppose 3 men should not move anything and a single woman should do it? Well this is the modern generation I guess - no more gallantry just 2 faced attitude. I must say I am disappointed just as much as you seem to be. You were there for the races and you did not convey these angsts to me in the four days of being there.
This accommodation was a total disgrace. The room we originally booked was the back facing double room but Lidia asked if we would move to a newly decorated house nearer to Cheltenham,33 Townsend street, as she had overbooked the original. We trusted her word but boy was that a mistake!!. The entrance and living area was a building site, with rubbish and building materials all over the downstairs area. When we arived we were told to remove our shoes. This actually was dangerous as the floor was covered in rubbish and we had to tramp over rubble. Lidia even told us we were getting this room cheap at €217 as this house was dearer than the one we had first booked.. I would not recommend this renter to anyone. We have requested a refund but as yet have not had a reply.
Whois Evelyne? I don't know a white poodle? A man stayed at my house - 3 people arrived at 11pm. There are 56,000 people on reach week, this could have been group booking ads the woman said she also had another room book as well.
3 not 2 turned up - they wanted a free living room for the third person, yes there was no living room and no valuables as i actually d not know the people who book for this 1 week of town mayhem. If Evelyne or who ever it was arrived when apparently the flight got in at 8pm she could have stayed the first night in my other house, which is perfect - but no one rang, I waited until after 11pm to be addressed by 3 people and they did not know which ones were staying, i need to know as this is my house and so a man stayed for 2 days. Thats all I know. I don't recommend people who do not communicate and have additional arrivals with them either, and would you trust a person with no validations or photograph of themselves in your actual home?
Great arty house amazing bathroom floor!
Perfect location on quiet road
Brilliant place to stay, close to the hustle and bustle of Camden Town/Market. Similar price to two small hotel rooms, but so much more freedom. Have to be aware that is someone's home, so can't treat exactly like hotel room, but eminently doable. Maybe wary re taking small children, but otherwise great for family break. Quirky, interesting house. A number of 'house rules' but probably to be expected. Would definitively go again :-)
Enter in Lidia's home is like meeting new friends, she welcomed us so warningly, the location is just perfect, by buses, subway, everything you need to see, the coffee shop is just around the corner. Lidia's Kitchen make you wanna cook some good food and make you feel a chef !
I loved the decoration style and her nice cute dog !
Great stay. Really central and Mornington Cresent and Camden are enough in themselves for a fantastic weekend. Nice house, full of quirky things. Real character! Clean too.
Lidia's house is very close to Mornington Crescent tube station. And there is Subway, Pret a Manger and very nice bakery. So location is very nice.
Lidia is very accurate about house rules and it makes me uncomfort in the house. House rules are the same as our house rules because they are general rules, but she highlights them a lot of time. So I didn't feel comfortable, I didn't touch anything except necessary things. I would like to feel it is like my home.
When you look to the photos, house seems bigger but it's not. It's not very small of course, but with photos it seems bigger.
Beddings have stains, so they didn't seem clean so I had to cover them with my towels. So it wasn't a good sleep for me.
And the house is very cooold! Lidia said it is expensive to heat the house, but she heated for us, but it wasn't enough. First night we slept with out coats and hats! Second night was ok, but in the morning we woke up with frozen heads and noses.
So i think the house isn't worth what we paid. It was disappointment for me.
But thanks for Lidia's support, she tried to comfort us.
Hi Gizem, sorry you left uncomfortable, photographs are by airbnb photographer. I've been doing this for 2 years now and I find its best to go through everything with the guests, as people don't always read the house rules - eg. Your friend had his back pack on until I said I don't like people having them on in the house; as explained in the house rules, he had not read these. Your other friend had heavily studded boots on - and I have expensive plaster - which I do not want scratched so I though it best to point this out. For instance you wanted an extra 2 double airbeds - at no extra cost - which you got. In a hotel the double beds are for 2 people or you pay more. My house is individual so there needs to be face to face communication, it is a Town House and so the heat rises and it is warm especially at the top of the house. A couple of white pillow cases may have slight hair dye marks on them - but your did get 4 extra pillows and 4 extra duvets as you all wanted a double bed each for only £50 per night and you would have wanted the heating on all the time. Some of the duvets I gave you to use are Liberties and very nice, and you know they were clean as I asked you where you wanted the beds and made them up - I did notice you had Primark bags (who exploit 3 word countries and children, to get cheap prices) so clearly you have no idea of the quality difference and I need to be sure they also meet my expectations as well, its just not like a hotel this is my home. Upstairs the top bedroom has new glass in it which is very low u value. My friend though it was really warm.
Lidia's place is nice and central. A stones throw from the tube and from Camden High street for shopping and bars etc.
Lidia and her son Louis are very friendly and helpful hosts, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone
