The Space

Our Big Island vacation rental ~Halias Hideaway~ is located 5 minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park at the 3,000 ft elevation. Punalu'u Black Sand beach is a 45 minute drive away. Feel the sand between your toes and catch a glimpse of the Honus (Hawaiian Sea turtle) as they bask in the sun.

Nestled amongst the Beautiful, lush Volcano Rainforest sits Halias Hideaway. Here the air is crisp and the flowers are fragrant. Time seems to stand still as you take in the tropical scenery and listen to the songs of the Native Hawaiian birds.

The Master Suite boasts a BEAUTIFULLY crafted Queen Canopy Bed. While the second bedroom offers a double bed complete with tropical island bedding. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds. Relax on the comfortable reclining sofa, perfect for those lazy, rainy days. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking your favorite home cooked meal.

Upon check in you will be greeted with a welcome basket filled wiht island treats as well as a fruit platter consisting of papayas, pineapples & bananas,! Our way of saying Mahalo for staying with us :)

We do not offer breakfast, however Volcano Village is a quick 5 minute drive away. There you will find Kilauea Lodge, Lava Rock Cafe, Keawe Kitchen, Ohia Cafe & a Thai Restaurant.

  • We were pleasantly surprised about the cleanliness and room space of this property. The house has a full kitchen and a spacious living room. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very nice too. Highly recommend!

  • Kristin and her home are amazing. The photos don't do justice to how big and homey her place is! We were welcomed with a large basket of fruit, bottled water, and other goodies with a kind note from our host. The house was equipped with everything we needed: a fully stocked kitchen with appliances, utensils, a rice cooker, complimentary coffee- the works. The living room had a big flat screen tv with cable and movies, and a bunch of great contemporary board games.
Kristin was also super helpful in responding quickly to my texts/inquiries and helped us get un-lost.

My parents were very impressed and were sad that we could only stay one night!

  • Our whole family(5 adults and 1 infant) enjoyed the house one night which is clean, well-organised, cozy, spacious, and welcoming message & gift box made us feel so happy. It's a little bit chilly at night but don't worry, there're electric fire wall & heater, long sleeves needed.
And also It's very close to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park(about 20 min.).
    Highly recommend!!!

  • Halias Hideaway (email hidden) to stay while visiting Volcano. It is immaculately clean and very tastefully furnished and decorated. Great for a family as there are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Also lots of blankets and towels. A very ample fruit basket and a treat basket await your arrival. There is a gas stove in the living room for heat, but bedrooms are not heated so it does get (email hidden) is easy to find, and just outside the park and village. The host is easy to communicate with and very helpful.

I (email hidden) girl that enjoys a good laugh! I enjoy spending quality time with my horses here at the ranch. My passion for horses started at the age of 5, when my dad put me on my first horse. It was love at first sight & it has been an awesome journey.. I moved to Arizona for 3 years to pursue my riding career. I was fortunate to meet some awesome people that changed my life forever. I was able to bring that knowledge back home with me, along with a ton of life experiences!! I love meeting new people & listening to their stories. That is why I decided to open Halias Hideaway (named after my grandma Halia)..
