John and Colette are nothing short of super hosts. From the outset i needed to book a place to stay within 24hrs and they very efficiently made the arrangements and organised a very reasonable taxi price to and from the airport. The listing does not let on that 'le shack' has all the amenities you would want from a home (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, desk) and makes for a wonderful and private cosy spot for a couple. As well they have an amazing sun terrace where we had the opportunity to undertake exercise and relax most days. Its great that it is a bed and breakfast set up. Every morning we had a choice of breakfasts and never had to wait for the hosts to get around to doing it. As well, John and Colette made themselves available for any questions and provided advice on places to visit and things to do. At the same time, they were very discrete and never intruded upon us. These guys really know the island! based on a previous review i had already booked the $100usd day tour with John and i am so glad i did! had the opportunity to see so much of the island and also gave me lots of ideas about places we could venture back to on following days. As well, the beach (brandons) which is 10 minutes away was absolute paradise and almost empty! All in all we had a great stay, friendly and accommodating super hosts, and decent amenities. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about John and Colette. They are extremely generous and sweet and made us feel so welcome from the very beginning of our stay. They were helpful with travel tips, ways to enjoy the island, and even offered to let us borrow some water gear! Le Shack is near an amazing beach that is frequented by locals -way less crowded and more beautiful than the more popular, touristy beaches we went to! Visitors should know that Le Shack is definitely in a residential neighborhood. You will be the only tourists in the area -a great way to immerse yourself in real Bajan life. It can be sometimes noisy due to frequent bus and car traffic, plus an industrial laundromat in back. But the location was very convenient, right on major bus routes, and a block from a supermarket. Would stay there again!

OMG! What a wonderful experience staying at "Le Shack" was! John & Colette went above and beyond. They were so helpful in getting us to experience the real Barbados. The place is secluded and filled with plant life. Breakfast was included and we ate each morning in their lovely garden. When we returned from a long day we were able to unwind upstairs on the balcony-John even greeted us with cold coconut water from one of his trees. I really liked the location very close to downtown Bridgetown, the beach and the "West Coast". I look forward to my return visit to this little eclectic gem! Thank you Colette & John!

John & Colette picked me up from the airport at a rate much better than the local taxis, which for a first time visitor to Barbados is a great idea. They're a fun couple, and make you feel right at home. The place is a hidden gem on a busy street, and when you walk through the front gate, you're in a secret garden, surrounded by greenery and plenty of birds too. While I missed out on the tour they offer, the next time I'm down, I'll be booking a day with them for sure. "Le Shack" is a private 1 room house on their property, at the back. It has a queen size bed, with mosquito net, and several fans. There's ample closet space for folded clothing. From what I can tell, there's no hot water, so your showers will be cool and refreshing. However, I must say that is most welcome given the hot and humid weather of Barbados itself. It's a great location, near plenty of shops, and just a 10 minute walk to the beach. If you rent a car, they have an empty lot right beside their place that has plenty of room to park. All in all, a great stay, and I highly recommend them.

John and Colette were excellent hosts. We only planned on staying for 2 nights, but felt so welcomed that we decided to stay for 10 extra days. The house is covered with greenery so you have a lot of privacy. The "shack" is a perfect, cozy, room for 2 people. We cooked a lot of meals in the kitchen in the room. They gave us great tips on how to explore the island and let us use their goggles and boogie board for the beach. They even shared their DVD collection with us so we could watch films in our room at night. For New Years they also let us invite friends over to have a cookout on their porch. We really felt at home while we were here. John and Colette always asked how our days were and that we had everything we needed. If we ever come back to Barbados we will definitely stay with them again.

John & Colette were fantastic hosts. They know how to make you feel 100% welcome and taken care of, while still leaving you with the freedom to explore on your own and get the most out of your stay in Barbados. There's no way I would've had half as much fun staying around the Gap or other tourist hot spots as I did at Le Shack. When I come back to Barbados, I will definitely stay with John & Colette again.
