Our family of five with kids aged 7, 5, and 2 stayed for 7 days. Linda was great at making us feel welcome even before we arrived. She was away so a key was left for us. The area/view around is beautiful and the short walk to the beach was perfect. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the house. The house has a very strong wet musty smell especially in the kitchen and bedrooms that don't get a lot of sunshine. The house felt very old and we were having to clean dishes before we could use them. On the listing it says there is a dryer, there is not. A clothes line is hung outside which is fine except that it rains a lot and I was really expecting a dryer. The last issue was that we had to take care of our own rubbish or pay per bag left at the house. That was not made clear ahead of time and was very strange to load up our rubbish and find the refuse center on our vacation.

Firstly I would like to say that when we arrived at Atlantic View we were very happy with the condition of the property, the beds were all made and the overall condition was very good. I took my wife & family there for 1 week, the property itself is approx. 1minute walk from its own beach which is also very clean, at low tide you are able to walk to Portmagee along the beach, you can of course walk along the road which take approx 1/2 hour, I would advise hi viz vests at night as there are no street lights and it can be very dark. Portmagee itself is a small fishing village with a couple of pubs, you are made to feel welcome in both and they both serve some very nice meals ranging from 5-25 euro's. Guinness is 4 euro & coke is 2.5 euro. There are plenty of walks you can do as well as some great drive around The Ring of Kerry. My advice would be to do your main shop at Waterville as the small shop in Portmagee only has the essentials. I would highly recommend staying at Linda's property and would definitely consider a return trip.

The area is stunning and we had a lovely time in West Kerry, however we were disappointed by the accommodation. Particularly as it had received such positive reviews. We had seen the pictures on Air BnB so knew what to expect in terms of decor. However on arrival there was a damp musty smell and there were no sheets or duvet for one of the single beds. Both our boys like to sleep in the same room so we were forced to put them in a double bed together which meant they didn't get to sleep until very late. Linda was contacted but replacements weren't delivered until the next day. When they were received, the sheets were missing & had to be borrowed from a relative of Linda's who lived nearby. When the boys tried out the single beds they were very uncomfortable, the springs could be felt and in no way should the mattresses have been provided for paying guests. The main toilet when first flushed leaked all over the bathroom floor & contributed to a damp smell in the property. The water would not drain away in the en-suite shower in the bedroom we used, so showers were extremely brief. Cold water dribbled out of the bathroom sink even when on full & splurged out of the kitchen sink when sonly slightly turned on. We could not get hot water for the bath, nor could we get the heating working, despite following the instructions. When we tried to vacuum, the hose fell off. To her credit Linda did respond immediately to our complaints & offered apologies & explanations for the faults. Ultimately it felt like the property was being operated on a minimum upkeep, maximum pricing strategy. The whole experience reminded me of student digs in the 80s. Sadly based on our experience I cannot recommend the accommodation.

We were looking for somewhere clean, warm and comfortable on out trip to the Western tip and that is exactly what we found! It was great to sit around the open fire, with the distinctive burning peat smell, and drink in the views.

We were not greeted by our host during our stay. The home was clean and the living room area was very comfortable with large leather chairs, comforters and a nice fireplace. The 3 bathrooms were clean although the ones in the bedrooms were very small, with a curtain instead of a door, making it difficult to move around. The view of the Atlantic was distant but nice and the beach was a short walk away, great for morning walks. The neighborhood was peaceful and it was an easy walk into town.

Hi As a member of Airbnb I love the concept that one can view all the beautiful places around the world and dream :) and if one has the opportunity to travel they can have a personal link with a host not through a big booking or marketing company who doesn't care about the person. I became a host to help link people to a beautiful place called Cahersiveen where I grew up, I don't live there anymore (due to a lack of jobs & facilities for young people) so apologies if I can't meet you during your stay but I am freely available to contact for advice or information on the beautiful Skellig coast in the Kingdom of Kerry. I am the link for a lovely small cosy quite B&B/accommodation for my parents where Patrick will look after you during your stay.

We are sports mad and South Kerry is the perfect places to stay and train- cycling, running and swimming in lakes, sea and rivers. Hire boats for fishing and Angling, Visit the Skellig Islands, Scuba dive, Snorkel. Drive The Skellig Ring, Tropical Valentia Island and the famous Ring of Kerry. Relax by the beaches, read, write and paint - it's an Artists' dream with long day-light hours and beautiful scenery.
Only one hour drive from Killarney (with its Mountains and Lakes), Tralee (the home of the Rose Festival) and Kerry International Airport.
