Nestled on quiet Gay Street in the heart of Manhattan's West Village; this large studio has the look and feel of a luxury hotel with high-end linens and a professionally decorated interior.
With a separate kitchen, guests have the choice of eating in or dining nearby at some of New York's best restaurants and access to coffee shops galore! Located on the 4th floor of an elevator building with windows facing tree lined Gay Street, this apartment is just minutes to the cities chicest bars, bodegas, boutique shopping...all the best of what the West Village has to offer. Just around the corner is one of New York's main subway lines connecting you to every borough and both Penn Station, Long Island Railroad, JFK and Newark airports.
Apartment amenities includes: 50" flat screen TV, full cable package, Wifi high-speed interned connection, good size kitchen with full size appliances and a laundry facility.
Please note the "Street View" on Airbnb is not correct. That is not a view of Gay Street but Washington which is two blocks south.
I love Joe's Coffee which is hands down the best coffee shop in the City. Many celebrities frequent this little gem. Sarah Jessica Parker, Brooke Shields, Julianne Moore, James Franco and Phillip Seymoure Hoffman are all regulars to this West Village insider's hot spot.
Convenient to most subway lines within steps to the apartment.
The building is very quiet and for New York City the street on which the building sits is for the most part closed to vehicle traffic so the noise off the street is minimal.
The studio on Gay street is a great place to discover New York, between restaurants, little shops, pubs, and sooooo calm! Underground nearby, washington square around the corner which brings you immediately to the airport. Great location.
The appartment was clean, cosy and nice decorated. Good television, we had a great time here!!!
check in and check out were very easy. We got no problems.
This was our first experience with airbnb, and it was a good one!
Peter's studio was amazing for our stay in New York. It is clean, has all the essentials, and is very conveniently located. Situated in the middle of multiple subway lines, getting anywhere in the city was a breeze.
Peter was very accommodating, and communicative in setting up the key exchange. I would recommend Peter's place to anyone traveling to Manhattan, and would love to stay here again myself.
Peter's apartment looks exactly the photos. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Peter is an affable host and was always available if there were issues or questions. I would stay here again.
I loved staying in Peter's apartment. It was attractively designed and comfortable, with high quality furnishings and beautiful linens. It was also incredibly quiet. The street was well-lit and nicely maintained, so I felt safe coming back late by myself. And the neighborhood is so pretty and charming! Great gourmet prepared food nearby so you don't have to eat out all the time. Being very close to many subway lines made it easy to get around the city without cabs. Peter was a wonderful host and easy to deal with. I would love to stay there again.
This was the second time that we stayed in Peter's apartment and it was again an amazing experience. Peter's place is perfectly located on a quiet street and close to shops, the subway and some very charming cafés. Peter was also great in communicating. I would highly recommend his place!
Peter's place was the perfect base for playing tourist in Manhattan. The West Village offers everything someone wanting to experience the New York lifestyle could want. Even better is that it's between two of the main subway lines which made for easy commuting to all of the main attractions. The apartment itself was well appointed for two people and Peter was great in communicating.
Peter's apartment was as advertised and pickup of the keys was seamless with his cleaning lady. The apartment is in an ideal location to jump around to all lower manhattan neighborhoods and is just a quick subway ride to midtown. I would without hesitation recommend Peter's apartment for anyone looking for a quintessential west village studio!
Peter's space was amazing -- so tasteful, chic, well done. The location is priceless-- at the corner of Christopher and Gay Street, right next to a great coffee shop and at night, there's no noise..it's very peaceful. Peter was accommodating and I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in the city. For anyone who wants a true West Village chic / luxe experience .. look no further and book now : )
Peter's apartment is in a fabulous location, close to lots of coffee shops, restaurants, night life and subway. Although small and a bit crammed with furniture, it is neat and clean and feels homely. There isn't much space to stow suitcases for two people but we managed. We had trouble locating the air conditioner (hiding behind the bed!) but Peter got straight back to me with the info we needed. One gripe is that because the A/C is behind the bed it blew cold air straight onto us when sleeping. The building is easy to access and very quiet.
