The Frog House is an adorable one bedroom house located walking distance to Main Street Sarasota. This little house was built in 1925, but recently remodeled and now features central air, wifi and two flat screen TVs with cable. The house has a basic kitchen with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, toaster and one magnetic induction hot plate (no four burner stove/oven).

The space

Completely remodeled 1925 bungalow for rent, walking distance to Main Street, Farmer's Market and Whole Foods. Cottage has its own private parking space and completely fenced tropical backyard with outdoor dining table and two adirondack chairs for privacy and getting a great sun tan. This is a perfect location - bring your bikes and explore all of the historic corners of Sarasota with its fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes, shopping, art festivals, theatres, opera and ballet. You can easily ride your bikes over the bridge and out to the beach too! Sarasota features world famous beaches. The Ringling Museum (free on Mondays), Selby Gardens, Myakka State Park (alligators guaranteed) and Mote Aquarium are other attractions just a short distance away. You will fall in love with Sarasota and the Frog House!!

Guest access

Guests will have access to a private deck, and the "outhouse" Laundromat, a funny little shack which we have salvaged and put coin operated machines into.

Interaction with guests

Guests have instant access to the apartment via an electronic door lock set to the last four digits of their telephone number-no need to stress about arrival times. We live next door, and are available via cell phone. We will generally stop by to say hi, and introduce ourselves, but try to give our guests full privacy, unless we can help in any way. A large basket with maps and brochures is available in the apartment to help explore the area.

From the minute we booked the Frog House to the minute we checked out, communication and instructions were clear and easy to follow. The house is just as pictured, very clean, with a basket full of great suggestions for what to do in Sarasota and the rest of the area. Downtown is just steps away with so much to explore. And if you don’t feel like eating out, the kitchen at the Frog House has everything you need to make a great meal. Andrea even left a bottle of wine as a welcoming gift- a lovely touch. Friendly hosts and a friendly, clean, cozy house. What could be better?

Quaint & quiet cottage. A few minutes drive from downtown. A few restaurants within walking distance. Save money by making coffee and breakfast. Shower is small. Fine for me, but might be a challenge for a large person. Easy access in and out with locks.

The Frog House is Cute times 100! It's in a great location for seeing downtown Sarasota! My wife and I are looking to purchase a home in the Sarasota area and stayed at the Frog. Very easy to visit other areas in Sarasota, Osprey, Venice, St Armands, Anna Maria Island, Manatee County... but its charm is in it cleanliness, character and right dab in the middle of Downtown!!! So after looking at homes, we came back to the Frog and enjoyed Downtown Sarasota, and there is so much to do!!! Andrea n Mike have their act together in cottage rentals, everything you need is there, along with a huge amount of flyers and pamphlets on places to go, eat, entertainment... I could go on for ever about it!!! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Great clean and functional place to stay. Nicely decorated and has frog theme and things inside and outside the house. Nice outdoor patio area. Centrally located in downtown Sarasota where it is easy to walk around for shopping, restaurants, and transportation. The owners are very service oriented. Highly recommended for single or couple.

The frog house was absolutely amazing! Everything was perfect. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and could not ask for anything better. It was private, quaint and affordable . We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a very clean home. We will come back again! So happy with our stay!

Had a wonderful time at the Frog House. Everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. We wish we could have a Frog House of our very own. We loved Sarasota so much we will be moving there in a few months.

Andrea User ProfileAndrea is a superhost.

I am a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. I am passionate about revitalizing Downtown Sarasota and the historic Gillespie Park Neighborhood where I have lived and worked for 15 years. I am also working to get the Legacy Multi Use Recreational Trail extended into Downtown Sarasota. My husband and I live with our spoiled rotten Vizlsa named Lucy. We love to walk Lucy and ride our bikes (including our antique Santana Tandem bike named Lulu) into downtown, out to the beach, at various bike and tandem rallies.
