Completely remodeled 1925 bungalow for rent, walking distance to Main Street, Farmer's Market and Whole Foods. Cottage has its own private parking space and completely fenced tropical backyard with outdoor dining table and two adirondack chairs for privacy and getting a great sun tan. This is a perfect location - bring your bikes and explore all of the historic corners of Sarasota with its fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes, shopping, art festivals, theatres, opera and ballet. You can easily ride your bikes over the bridge and out to the beach too! Sarasota features world famous beaches. The Ringling Museum (free on Mondays), Selby Gardens, Myakka State Park (alligators guaranteed) and Mote Aquarium are other attractions just a short distance away. You will fall in love with Sarasota and the Frog House!!
Guests will have access to a private deck, and the "outhouse" Laundromat, a funny little shack which we have salvaged and put coin operated machines into.
Interaction with Guests
Guests have instant access to the apartment via an electronic door lock set to the last four digits of their telephone number-no need to stress about arrival times. We live next door, and are available via cell phone. We will generally stop by to say hi, and introduce ourselves, but try to give our guests full privacy, unless we can help in any way. A large basket with maps and brochures is available in the apartment to help explore the area.
We love being able to walk into downtown Sarasota and walk along the bayfront to watch the sunset. The town is especially fun on Saturday mornings during the farmer's market.
You can walk to lots of restaurants, shops and grocery stores. There is a convenient bus system to get out to the beach as well. Plenty of parking is available on the street at no charge.
Sorry, no smoking and no pets allowed in the Frog House.
From Dec 25, 2015 - Apr 16, 2016 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
We had a wonderful stay at the Frog House. We had never been to Sarasota before and traveled from the Airport in Tampa. The directions to the house that Andrea sent with our reservation confirmation were perfect and made finding the house very easy. The Frog House is charming -- just as pictured. It was very clean and the bed was remarkably comfortable. The House's air conditioner worked perfectly -- very important for our July visit.
We arrived late at night and were very happy to be greeted with a nice bottle of wine which helped us relax after our travels. Likewise, there was some wonderful coffee left for us -- and creamers, that certainly eased are first morning wake up.
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage convenient to everything and easy in and out. Andrea had the place spic and span and stocked with all the essentials. We never even ran into anybody even though we were in the backyard. Very quiet!
Andrea was very welcoming, and available to answer questions. She provided lots of suggestions and recommendations for dining and activities. Frog House was as described and as shown in the pictures. It is an adorable little house with all the amenities that are needed. Frog House was very clean. It is surrounded by a tall, locked wooden fence--making the patio area a calm oasis. I had coffee on the patio every morning. Andrea and her husband provided lawn chairs for the beach. We could not have asked for better hosts. I highly recommend Frog House, and I can't wait for another visit to Sarasota so that I can stay at Frog House again!
Andrea and her husband made us feel very welcome from the get go . When we arrived there was a bottle of red Bordeaux waiting on the kitchen table and a welcome note. Also, when we couldn't find a tea kettle and I sent a text to Andrea , she immediately brought one over along with beach chairs an umbrella and cooler to borrow for siesta key beach. Such a nice experience! The property was very cozy for my wife our 2 month old and myself.
The Frog House was a great little place to stay and I agree with the other reviews, it was very clean, comfortable and quiet. It is a great central location to restaurants and other activities. Thanks Andrea!
This was my second time staying at the Frog House. Great experience again. Place was clean, quiet, and Andrea was a fantastic host. This will be our go-to place to stay if we're ever visiting Sarasota again!

About the Host, Andrea
I am a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. I have run my family's gold award winning Americas Best Value Inn in Bradenton Florida for 20 years. I am passionate about revitalizing Downtown Sarasota and the historic Gillespie Park Neighborhood where I have lived and worked for over 10 years. My husband and I live with our spoiled rotten Vizlsa named Lucy. We love to walk Lucy and ride our bikes into downtown and out to the beach.
