Anthony was most welcoming upon arrival! He personally gave us a tour of the rooms. Being my first visit to the DC area, the accommodations were well suited for my kids and me. The metro station is relatively close to take a train to downtown for site seeing, and we explored the local area in Hyattsville, and enjoyed the up and coming "arts district". The beds were comfortable and the layout provides a family of four with a safe back yard and separate room for the kids, unlike a hotel. Great to have a full kitchen for late night snacks as well! Thank you!!!
Anthony was a very personable host and the neighbourhood was handy for visiting the sights. The street that the house was on contains a collection of well maintained, friendly looking brick clad homes. It is near a more commercial road, but that does mean that you are also close to a grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. I actually opted to walk to the nearby Metro station to go downtown (which passes you by some greenspace and trails) but it is also easy to drive around and I was able to leave my car parked on the street without any hassle. The unit itself has a large bedroom on the main level with a second bedroom (with 2 twin beds) kitchen and bathroom down the stairs on the lower level. Bedrooms have window AC units which worked well to counter some fairly warm weather. The place is "no frills" in the sense that you won't find a "posh" decorators touch, but the beds were comfortable and this was definitely a good spot to crash after a day of sightseeing.
My trip worked out well. The stove in the kitchen isn't operational, but there is a portable burner. A friend was worried about the neighborhood, but it seemed totally safe once I was there. If you want to go out to eat in the immediate vicinity, however, your options are pretty limited.
Also, if you need a soft mattress to sleep well, look elsewhere. The mattress on the full bed is quite firm.
Bonne situation de la maison, logement propre et Anthony est très chaleureux.
Anthony was a nice and welcoming host, who started our time in Washington D.C. with an interesting live stream interview and we enjoyed our overall stay, nontheless there were some minor cleanliness problems in the kitchen.
Listing description was accurate. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. He may only need to get the Gas in the basement fixed in place of the hot plate.
I am visiting the US from Sweden for an Internship together with a friend for about five months - the first of which we stayed here. We work in Greenbelt so being close to the Green line Metro station was important to us.
The apartment has two bedrooms - one on the ground floor with a queen size bed and one in the basement with two twin beds. The kitchen and the bathroom are also in the basement.
The stove is not plugged in, due to some legal issues with that particular type of stove, and it is instead replaced with a stove top. We missed having an oven, though.
The best part of this apartment is the garden! We really enjoyed having breakfast in the sun or using the grill to cook a nice dinner.
Anthony is very nice, welcoming and accommodating! When we told him the stove top was broken, we got a new one the very next day! And he even cooked us dinner one night! :D
Thanks for a great stay, Anthony!
