2 Bedrooms "No Frills" Suite

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Russell Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20782, United States

This is a cozy 2 bedrooms "No Frills" Suite for you, your friends or your family. This location is a few blocks from the DC line and has a bus stop a few yards away for easy access to the Metro Rail system.

The Space

This is a "No Frills" 2 bedroom, 1 bath, washer, dryer and a kitchen unit. When I say 2 bedrooms, I really do mean just 2 bedrooms. Why? Because most people want to sleep and cook in comfort and this is what you can do here. The beds are plush and the kitchen unit is nice. Most people what to be able to watch TV or sit outside in the very large backyard. You can do that here. If you want to take your food out and eat in the backyard on the outdoor lawn furniture - then this is the place for you.

Most people who visit Washington, DC want to spend most of their time out doing stuff in this wonderful city - if this is the case, then this unit may be for you. This entire unit has a bedroom on the main level and another bedroom on the lower level. Between the two bedrooms are a set of stairs, a hallway, a washer/dryer, a bathroom and a kitchen. Nothing more and nothing less -

This unit is no frills in terms of space but the beds are top of the line memory foam and the sheets are 300 thread count. So we like luxury in terms of sleeping comfort and this is what we are focused on. You can put your head down on the pillow and sleep comfortably.

The bedroom on the main has a queen bed and the bedroom on the lower level has bunk beds.

The bathroom has all the normal stuff that a bathroom should have: shower, toilet, sink to wash and brush your teeth.

The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, toaster, cook top burners, pots, pans,, plates, glasses, silverware and a stove. The gas stove is not tuned on so this is the reason why there are the cook top burners.

Laundry Facilities:

Yes you will access to the washer/dryer as they are in the basement area. The name of the neighborhood is called Avondale Grove.

This 2 bedroom - No Frills unit is located very close to the Brookland / CUA subway on the Metro red line. It is about 5 miles to the city center and 2 blocks to Washington, DC. There is a Metro bus stop a few yards away from the house on Queens Chapel Road. The unit is very close to the University of Maryland, Howard University, Prince Georges Plaza and many other nice places.

Street parking is offered in front of the house or across the street in front of the house.

Lastly, we offer great customer support, towels and the works.

  • We really enjoyed the proximity to the Metro! Easy to get anywhere. The big upstairs bedroom was very comfy. What an exceptionally good bed, and the sheets were just so inviting. There is a closet, small table, side chair. The bedside table was a plus. The door location made it easy entry and we never had a problem parking close to the really nice looking home.
We only saw Anthony a couple of times, worked well for us! The official write up on the place is honest and true.
We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the TV had good cable with a great selection of channels on the couple of rainy days we stayed in. The wifi worked fine.
The stairs are kind of short with a good rise so use the railing. We didn't use the downstairs bedroom. It's chilly down there, but we did all our cooking in the kitchen. The dining table was good for us as well. Having the washer and dryer on site was great.
We saw deer in the back yard!
Very nice time here. Thanks to Anthony!

  • Anthony is a great great host! He is also a very nice person to talk with. He gave us great recommendation about things to do and good restaurants. The bed in Anthony's room is very comfortable. The community is nice and quiet. It's also in a good location. All of us had a great experience in his home. Thank you Anthony!

  • This was a great apt! Very clean, cozy and warm. The beds are extremely comfortable, and it's in the perfect location - a few steps from multiple buslines and a short trip to the mall and Hyattsville arts district. Anthony was a great host! Responsive, and checked in to make sure all was ok. Would love to come back once this never-ending winter is over and enjoy eating outside on the backyard patio.

    December 2013
  • I'll start by saying Anthony is extremely nice and responded to our requests for assistance or whatever promptly. I think the place lets him down a little bit - particularly downstairs. When we arrived, the cleaning had not been finished despite us not getting there until almost 11pm (but it was nice to be accommodated later). The upstairs bedroom was as described and was nice - bed is very firm. The only non-bedroom communal seating area was a metal table and metal chairs downstairs. There is a small table and chairs in the upstairs bedroom. The basement was indeed quite humid as stated before, with at least a fair amount of wet spots on the ceiling. The bathroom does not have a fan, the toilet rocks back and forth, and the shower is either built on a non level base or the foundation is malforming underneath - either way it is not level. The downstairs bedroom does not have memory foam mattresses as described in the listing, but are fine. The kitchen was as described.

Internet was initially quite spotty, but improved significantly when a new router was purchased. Neighbors have multiple dogs and tended to be pretty loud into the night, especially upstairs.

Overall, the place is indeed no frills but a suitable and safe place to sleep as billed. Again, Anthony is a great host and with better preparation and fixing the bathroom issues, this would be a fine place to stay for a night or two. There are two metro stations fairly close by and the neighborhood seems safe.

  • The place is exactly as depicted. and is located in a nice and quiet neighbourhood, half an hour away from the city center. Supermarket and pharmacy are nearby. Anthony was a good host, very friendly and helpful. The unit was comfortable with all kind of facilities. Overall we had a great stay!
    We would stay here again!

    September 2013
  • We stayed in Anthony’s place for 3 days in mid September. As he says it is ‘no frills” basement suite. One bedroom is on the ground level and the rest in the basement. If the weather is nice you can use very pleasant backyard. The neighborhood seems to be quiet and nice with a grocery near by. There are buses to the city and metro stations within walking distance but we opted to use our car and park it for a day near National Mall.
On negative side this place needs some TLC. Wobbly toilet, mildew in the shower, tapped over switches, sticking nails, missing drawers, miscellaneous items left in the bedroom corners, all that does not help to make good first impression. Since there is a ‘cleaning fee’ it would be nice if somebody not only would change the sheets but also vacuum the place, at least from time to time. We also had some communication problem. We called an hour before arrival as Anthony requested and had to leave the message. We arrived late evening and since was dark we could not find the house. We called again and again had to leave the message. After searching in the dark for the house for a few long minutes finally Anthony checked our voice message, stepped out of the house and showed us in. So if you do not care about those details the place may work for you but we will not be coming back again.
