Interaction with Guests
When I'm at home in DC, I'm sure I'll see the guest on a daily basis, but I always give them their own space, and of course their privacy. I am often away traveling -- in which case the guests have the house to themselves (plus Max the cat).
Logan Circle is a wonderful neighborhood to live in: a mix of history, culture, entertainment, architecture, and great food -- just steps from Whole Foods supermarket, Starbucks, and surrounded by the city's best gyms, restaurants, yoga, theaters, shops, bars, dry cleaners, banks, and parks.
This is one of the loveliest, safest, most convenient, and vibrant neighborhoods in Washington, and perfectly convenient for business trip or vacation: enjoy the city and its museums and sights without ever having to worry about driving or parking (though street parking is plentiful).
Unlike many other rentals in DC, this area is full of street life all day and in the evening, highly-rated restaurants, and attractions, many right across the street.
Rated by Walkscore as a walking/transport/biking "paradise" (the highest rating on all three).
A public transport and walking paradise!

This was my first experience with airbnb, and Joel made it easy and a great value - I'll be back again. I could not find a hotel in DC due to convention and school trip visitors, and am I lucky that I didn't. Joel's home is located in a great area of the city, close to everything - especially dozens of the best restaurants that the city has to offer (Le Diplomate, for example). Joel is happy to make sure his guests are taken care of, from meeting you at arrival and helping with luggage, to getting the right power cord for my MacBook (which I forgot to bring). The Room is spacious and with high ceilings, and there is access to the kitchen and living room areas. A Capital Bikeshare station is mere yards away (across 15th) and a Whole Foods not even one block away. Bonus: Max the Cat ---- I'm not a cat lover, but Max is a nice addition to the house and will play if you like or stay alone if you don't; in any case someone is home when you get back from a day out.
What a wonderful first experience on Airbnb! Joel responded quickly from the first time I inquired, and made me feel very comfortable. Everything was exactly as stated, down to Max the Cat (an inquisitive - but well-behaved - kitty) and his proclivity for going outside. The location is central; DC is made for walking and Logan Circle makes you want to. Joel has decorated beautifully and has managed to include all the "extras" that make packing less troublesome. Whole Foods being just around the corner was perfect! I would readily refer family and friends...and return myself. Thank you for a marvelous trip, and I hope that we can do this again...perhaps when the daughter completes her Clerkship!
Joel was a perfect host. His home is located in a very nice neighbourhood, both quiet and close to animated streets, also not far from the metro. Joel's advice on local restaurants is very valuable, and he also has guide books that can help you prepare your visits in or around Washington. Let's not forget Max, the funny and friendly house cat.
Joel was a kind and courteous host, offering great hospitality, but privacy as well. He's a wealth of information about the wonderful neighborhood and offers great guidance. Great place to stay as a tourist, but fine as a business traveler, too!
Lovely place and extremely convenient location. Max, the house cat, is one of the most friendly ball of fur I've ever met.
I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in DC.
I booked Joel´s room for a colleague that had to make a last minute trip to DC - he was incredibly accommodating at such short notice, made very quick responses and accommodated last minute changes. My colleague thoroughly enjoyed her stay, the area was excellent for a work-visit and the room comfortable and with good standard, and Joel was a great host!
Joel was a great host and communicator. The location is perfect and I highly recommend his place.
