Good sized studio on the border of Nob Hill and Russian Hill. Queen sized bed with additional couch. A large closet is available for use and the apartment includes a private full bath with a bathtub and shower. The kitchen is small but is more than sufficient for a small group and includes pots, pans, dishes, etc. if you're looking to make your own meals. The apartment includes free wifi, netflix, digital cable, and hbo streaming via a wall mounted HDTV.
The apartment is directly on Polk St. which features many restaurants, bars, and shops. Since it's right in the heart of the city there is noise both during the day and at night. With the windows shut it's pretty minimal. Very close (walking distance) to Lombard St., Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Marina District, and Union Square. Easy Access to Golden Gate Bridge, Mission District and Golden Gate Park.
City Car Share and Zip Car lots are located a block and 3 blocks away respectively.
Regarding parking, the area around the apartment has 2 hour metered parking during the day everyday from 9pm until 6pm (except for Sundays) and it can be tough to find a spot (more so on weekdays/weeknights than weekends). Alternatively, there is fairly unrestricted (restricted for street cleaning and between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays only) parking on Bay St. 9 blocks away (10-15 minute walk).
No smoking in the apartment and limit the loud noise at night out of respect for neighbors.
My stay in Devon's apartment for the weekend was amazing! The location in the city was perfect. Polk street is so lively, and it really gives you the full San Francisco experience with great bars, restaurants, and tourist destinations nearby. The apartment is decorated very nicely, and was equipped with everything you would need. The host was extremely responsive- he allowed me to text him with any questions I might have had throughout my stay. I definitely recommend this apartment. Thanks Devon!
The apartment was really perfect for the two of us. It was walking distance (1.5 miles and a pretty solid hill) to the Exploratorium, Fisherman's Warf (1 mi and a hill), and the downtown shopping center (1.5 miles and a couple of hills). The neighborhood is full of bakeries and restaurants and bars and little shops and a couple of galleries. We really enjoyed listening to the sounds of the city inside the apartment, and we left the windows open for that purpose. Also, the bed is crazy comfortable. We would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat.
I had a great experience at Devon's place. It is exactly as depicted in the photographs. Great, central location and Devon was super responsive. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to my friends.
Devon was a great host! The apartment was clean and he provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out
I stayed at Devon's place for a 10 days. The place is great, its clean, and has everything you need, but it is typical old house style in that it is a little rough around the edges. The location is pretty much perfect for going anywhere and being able to walk out your door for a bite, a coffee shop, or a drink. The only draw back is the loud traffic noise at night. After a night or two I got used to it and just slept through it.
Devon made me feel he was available at anytime and checkin/checkout was a breeze.
We were very impressed by the location and comfort of this apartment for our purposes. It was a little noisy but Devon advised us of this before we went so it was not a problem.
When we go back to San Francisco we will look for availability with
Devon first before looking anywhere else.
Devon was a great host. He was easy to reach and the apartment was exactly as described. I would definitely stay at his apartment the next time I am in SF!
