The space

This listing in my apartment has 2 single beds in the living room. The room has an arched entrance with a 'privacy' screen to the hall. I have one bath (shared). The appt. has an open floor plan that provides privacy for my guests, is fully furnished and has a cozy atmosphere. The sunny dining area seats four, perfect for a continental breakfast. I provide coffee, muffins and yogurt in the morning. The kitchen is available for you to prepare a meal or if you just need the fridge to store water and/or the food you bring for yourself.

Guest access

The house on Carroll Ave. is in a great location, less than 1/2 a mile from Ocean Drive. It is near 3 open parks, a tennis court and is walking distance to the village, the Cliff Walk and Easton Beach. It's only a stone's throw to Fort Adams if you want to be here for summer concerts!! It's also a great area for bike riding (not congested) and there's FREE street parking in front of the house. It's a quick walk to Thames St. with it's quaint shops, great dining and harbor front treasures. The house is also walking distance to the grandeur of the mansions on Bellevue Avenue.

Interaction with guests

I interact with my guests as much or as little as they prefer. I'm easy-going but respectful.

Went to visit Newport for a girls weekend - Pamela’s place was affordable and cozy. We didn’t spend a lot of our time there, just to sleep and shower. There were other guests staying in the bedroom next to us, but that wasn’t an issue. She has 2 cats that are definitely friendly and hang around. Note that this isn’t a bedroom - the 2 single beds are in her living room but she offered a trifold divider for privacy. There was no AC but she had fans which helped with airflow. She also offered breakfast: went out of her way to provide bagels, yogurt, bread, muffins, pastries, coffee, tea, and orange juice for our early morning. This was so nice! Her place is about a 15 minute walk into downtown Newport (bars, restaurants, nightlife). If you’re looking for an affordable/modest place to stay in Newport, I would definitely recommend here!

Super easy, great value. Pamela's place worked perfectly for me to stay in town overnight for a wedding.

Pamela is a great host, who communicated well, was very flexible on check-in, and provided great conversation. The house was very cozy and quaint. The room and beddings were clean, and she supplied towels and shower soap/shampoo. She provided a great continental breakfast with muffins/bread, yogurt, OJ and coffee, so it was more like a real B&B. The only issues were that the 2 beds are in a living room, so the room doesn't have a door for privacy. Also, I am 6'2" and the beds are a bit small for me, but one was adequate. It is about a 1 mile walk to the harbor, but for the price very convenient.

Response from Pamela:
Hi Gary, thanks for such a nice review! I do mention (in my description) that the living room doesn't have closing door and that I provide a (full-coverage) privacy screen. It's always right beside the LR entrance. If I didn't point that out, I apologize.

My brother and I stayed one night in Newport on a trip through New England. We shared a room with two comfortable beds. Pamela's home is located in a picturesque, quiet neighborhood centrally located between town and the Cliff Walk area, our two main destinations. It's a very charming and inviting house with easy access to the bathroom and kitchen. Pamela was a gracious host and provided us with towels, a map, and even a continental breakfast. I highly recommend her place!
