Amazing house, charming and hospitable hosts. Nointel is quite far off Paris (40 min by train, and mind that all the weekends till the end of September and those in the last week of November there would be works on the line Paris-Nointel, so you'd either have to take a bus (up to 2 hrs) or jump off in Persan Beaumont and walk a tad - 30 min or so with my short legs ).
However, as I like quiet places and walking is a piece of cake for me, I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, tranquility, fresh air, the impeccable design and tidiness of the house and the whole atmosphere.
After a whole day walking, taking photos and shopping in Paris this place would be a perfect haven for you.
Photos shown is exactly what you are provided with. Such a lovely home wjth a lovely family to match. Not far from the train station at all and 40 mins to Paris is a great aspect.
I had a wonderful time with Camélia and Jean-Marc. They have a lovely home. Everything was what I was hoping for. Prepare yourself though it's a little bit of a walk from the train station to their house if you want to go anywhere. I'll admit though, it's a unique experience, walking through a cornfield to get to their home. I'm glad to have had it. The way they've set up their home is very traveler friendly, the decor is very rustic and functional. It was perfect for a person staying for a few days. If I ever go back to Paris I would definitely like to stay here again.
I loved this place! The hosts were kind and courteous. I had the unfortunate luck of being sick on my first day and they were kind enough to look after me.
Nointel is a beautiful little town that makes you feel safe and welcome. The house is very nice and getting to Paris is easy and straight forward.
My stay with Camelia Et Jean-Marc was fantastic. I stayed at their home for two weeks and would get up to go to Paris every morning and come home at night. The train station is a five minute walk from their home, and Paris is a 45 minute train ride (11 stops) away from the station. When I was at the house I was always comfortable and welcomed, and Camelia and Jean-Marc were always so nice. I even ate dinner with them a couple nights and watched soccer, which was a great time. Anyone looking to visit Paris and return to a small town that is very quiet at night should stay here in Nointel.
I stayed three nights with Camélia and Jean-Marc and am planning to do so again next year same time around, so what can I say: I felt very welcomed in their lovely house, getting back late at night and leaving early in the morning was no problem as I had my own key and everything was just fine. The train station is at a short stroll away and the quiet neighborhood guarantees for a good nights rest.
Together we lived through a Steven Spielberg like thunderstorm (and survived!) and although having been in the Val d'Oise many times before, it was only thanks to their recommendation that I took some time on the way back to Germany to visit the Abbaye de Royaumont, which I enjoyed a lot. Maybe we will even have a chance to go to a concert together next time.
Thank you, Camélia and Jean-Marc, for having been my hosts,
take care and cu, Stefan
Camelia and Jean Marc have a beautiful home, just as beautiful as the pictures make it seem. They are very interesting people too and if you talk to them they have a lot to tell you about nointel and Paris. I stayed in the "open space" for a few days that was beautiful with a few skylights so you can see the starry night sky, but there is zero privacy there. They then moved me to the guest bedroom after the other guests left and it was roomy and as the rest of their house was also beautifully decorated.
My one issue would be with the location. It is a beautiful little town with a little farm next to it, a few cows right next to the house, it's definitely a peaceful and different experience from the busy Paris streets. However, it is also very limiting. On my last night I chose to stay in Paris until midnight to see the eiffel tower light up beautifully, however as it turns out, the metro stops running at midnight and so does the train back to their town. A taxi to nointel is around 70 euros if not more and even the cheapest hotel I could find wanted to charge around 80 euros for the 4 hours I needed to wait until the train station opened again, making my efforts for an inexpensive Paris trip moot. I ended up waiting in a police station until 4 am when the train to nointel started running again. So basically don't stay out too late or you won't be able to get back! But even without that inconvenience you still have to pay 12 euros each day to get to Paris and back to nointel, making the cheap stay price basically go up per day. In the end I loved the town of nointel and their house so it's more about if you really think the nice change of pace each night is worth it. For me, it was, though I regretted it a night or two when I wanted to stay in Paris longer than when the kids go to bed.
I loved the experience of seeing Paris as a city and then see it contrast with a small suburbs such as nointel, it gave me two beautifully different perspectives of what life in France is composed of. Thanks for everything!
