The Space

Come and stay at our restored barn that creates an amazing countryside oasis. Perfect if you are looking for a retreat or just need a homey place to stay.

We have the perfect location; 30 minutes from downtown Gettysburg, 30 minutes from the court house in Harrisburg, 30 minutes from downtown Carlisle. Lancaster Co. (Amish country) as well as Hershey Park are both an easy 45 minute drive.

You get a private bedroom, with the rest of the house consisting of 2 living rooms, 2 unique bathrooms, an open/huge kitchen and dining room area. Of course, you can use the rest of the house and decks out back with hammocks and pond outside. And there are family walking trails right down the road. A great place to get away for the weekend or a week's vacation. You will feel right at home with us.

We look forward to your visit!!!

  • What a lovely house in a peaceful place! We were amazed by their great sense that adds unique and fantastic features to this house. They also keep the house very clean. You will enjoy comfortable stay with them! In addition, we got to sit at a table with them for lovely breakfast. We had an absolutely great time sharing our experiences with the family. Thank you so much for your hospitality! We recommend anyone to choose Taryn's place!

  • We had a fantastic time at Taryn's house. It's a shame that Taryn was not there, but she telephoned us a number of times to make sure we were acquainted with the house and that we were settling in. The house is a barn conversion with much character and an interesting floor plan and use of materials. The whole living area was huge, clean and so quiet, as it is situated in the countryside.....which we love. The bed was very comfortable and everything worked well. We would certainly stay in Taryn's place again and again. Lovely rural setting with farmland and trees. Thanks Taryn. Regards Brian & Alison

  • When I arrived at Taryn and Helen's home I was pleasantly surprised that the place was like an artist retreat. The house is very beautifully decorated with art work from all over the world. I felt right at home even before i met Helen. Once I met her, I felt even more cared for and embraced. I had business during the day with family which ended up really stressful. Coming back to the house each night felt like a cup of cold water in a desert. Beautiful location and wonderful people. I look forward to staying here again.

  • I had a wonderful time staying with Taryn, her mom, and Haley. Having never done airbnb before I was skeptical, but this went away quite quickly. It was great to come home from a long day of researching at the archives to be greeted by Haley and the rest. Next time I am doing research in the area I will certainly keep them in mind. I enjoyed the country walks in the morning which gave me time to reflect on my research and my life. Pennsylvania is a beautiful area.

  • My mom and I loved staying with Taryn in her amazing home. Hayley the dog was sweet and wonderful; Taryn was incredibly thoughtful and kind. She had coffee for us, gave great restaurant advice, went out of her way to be helpful, and was nice to be around. I'd highly recommend Taryn.

  • It was a pleasure to stay at Taryn's. She was super friendly and generously gave fantastic advice on local restaurants and antique stores. The house is amazing - an upcycled barn full of antique and thrifted finds. It was clean, comfortable, and cozy. I highly recommend it. It was well worth driving an extra 25min outside Gettysburg to stay there.

  • What a wonderful stay! Taryn's home is wonderful! It's so nice to be able to sit and chat over tea, experiences and travels with someone! Her pup is an awesome bonus to the zen like room and bath provided. I would absolutely stay with Taryn again when I am in her area, as well as recommend her place to everyone!

  • We had a fantastic stay with Taryn and her mother over a gloriously sunny weekend. The house was amazing, cannot believe it was built by hand, and that it used to be a barn. The room and entire house was super comfortable and Taryn was the best host, we had great talks about world history, and she even organised an amazing bonfire for us! The location was perfectly serene, beautiful countryside everywhere. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
