About This Listing
About the property
You have century old doors and rustic lime and mortar walls from the Portuguese colonial era , combining with wcs by Philippe Starck and fantastic state of the art rain showers and airconditioners.
Despite being a meticulously designed and hand crafted super luxury villa the biggest compliment we regularly receive is that " we feel so much at home here".
A minimalist natural material and water design scheme is used to emphasize experiential values rather than draw attention to itself.

Conde Nast traveler magazine in its India launch issue listed Shunya Noi Varo as the best ' boutique stay' in Goa.
Its original and authentic in house cuisine has been praised by Conde Naste Traveller, Harpers Bazaaar, CNN online travel and many others.
Despite all this at its core it is an unpretentious tranquil home where 24 hours housekeeping, great mattresses, showers and air conditioning and all the other unsung unseens contribute to instantaneous de stressing. 'Zen' is a word often used by reviewers albeit a trifle loosely!
Other attributes of the house in addition to the gourmet cuisine include : masseurs and therapists who can visit by appointment; driver guides who can take you to the best bars, restaurants , shops, beaches and picnic and spots; a naturalist who can take you on a guided bird watching or even reptile handling walk; local boat men who can take you fishing and dolphin sighting.
We prefer you treat Shunya Noi Varo as your own kingdom when you are there and so do not meet guests routinely. A director from our company welcomes you on arrival and stays in touch during your stay. We have you picked up and dropped to the airport.
guests are not allowed into the kitchen or staff areas. meals for the day need to be ordered off our menu after breakfast.
We had a wonderful week in Siolim, Goa. The house itself is beautifully laid out, the living areas are wide and suitable for larger groups - we enjoyed the small yet private pool. The living room was ideal for late night movies (we had a small projector that came in handy!). A TV / air conditioning would be a good addition here, especially for guests staying for a week or more as the weather appears to be warm year round. We really liked the bedroom suites, especially the bathrooms! Lots of rain showers were enjoyed here by all. The house comfortably accommodates a group of 6, to extend this to allow for AC accommodation for a larger group, a few changes are needed. It was good to have WiFi access, although the speed and coverage could be improved. Despite the somewhat remote location of the villa ( this is likely more pronounced in the off season), we were able to explore and enjoy the surrounding area. While there were so many good things about this holiday, it is the staff who will we will reminisce about the most. On our days at home, the staff were extremely helpful and their service is definitely one of best features of the property! With their quiet yet ever present service, they elevated the experience for everyone. Alex, with his great cooking, and amazing food decorations, always had good advice - whether it was for the dinner menu or a trip to the market. Vishnu brought us endless refills of ice, and we loved his elegant table settings! The whole team was accessible and exceptionally accommodating. If you go: - Take a chance and go during the off season if more convenient - we had great weather! - Must see : Chapora fort - take a picnic - its a short drive from the house, and ideal for a picnic with breathtaking views over the Arabian sea. - Try the local transport options if practical. - Local grocery - at first sight, these look limited, but are in fact well stocked with goodies if you care to look. Enjoy the simple cakes with tea, great Kwality ice cream, Indian savory snacks. There is a vegetable store, get fresh vegetables for a great salad. The local wine/beer shops are well stocked - a bottle of Bacardi was on sale for under $10! There was even an Indian sweetmeats shops, although we didn't try this. - Mid day hunger pangs: Several shacks near the house make fresh Indian treats around 4 pm - check these out - very reasonable and tasty Samosa and pakoras. Two types of Goan bread is available fresh everywhere and is very tasty. - If possible, take a movie projector and lots of downloaded content. This is great for an after dinner movie in the living room. Use the in house amplifier / speakers for a theater like experience! - Enjoy the staff cooked meals - they really are very good. -...
