Zen place in Chicago, Lincoln Park

House - Private room · North Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL 60614, United States

The Space

I believe this place is awesome and hope you will, too! Very special and cozy, this beautifully furnished one bedroom/one bathroom apartment/home is situated in the historic Old Town Triangle one of Chicago's trendiest neighborhoods, two stops from the loop, and one block from main bus routes and three blocks from the "L."
Visitors will have their own private bedroom in this place, which I live full-time. The guest bedroom features beautiful hardwood floors and crisp linens for the ultimate urban retreat. It's clean, spacious and cozy. The apartment is in a 117-year old (constructed in 1895). It's full of character and charm, with lots of natural light. This place has an eclectic, relaxing and quiet environment. Washer and dryer are available. The kitchen is completely stocked and I supply 2 sets of towels for the queen size bed
Free Wi-Fi and iPod/iPhone docking station for music listening. We're close to a number of great bars and restaurants and an easy walk to downtown or Lincoln Park and the lakefront.
I think you will really enjoy this neighborhood. This building is walking distance to everything Chicago has to offer: Lake Michigan and its beaches; Michigan Ave. and its magnificent shopping experiences; Chicago's finest restaurants and bars, live entertainment such as Second City and Zanies comedy clubs are just two blocks away, state of the art health club .
I'm look forward to hearing from you!

  • Liz was very sweet and her place was casual and comfortable. I was a little surprised by the barking dogs and I couldn't figure out how to use the shower, but otherwise I had a great, stress-free experience.

  • I wish that it would be possible for all guests at Liz's to experience the peace of mind and state of tranquility which came to me. I will not stay at any other place when returning to Chicago. Don't expect the place to be fancy - then you might have a chance to experience the magic.

  • I have been most fortunate to stay with Liz for 5 relaxing days in the most friendly and warm atmosphere you can imagine. Luckily I am returning to spend another 4 days there after some horrible days at a boring hotel near Midway. Liz's home is one of a kind and I surely hope that anyone visiting her will appreciate this precious hideaway and it's special charm and energy as much as I have and will again.

  • The Charming Zen is a lovely and really charming place in Old Town of Chicago. Everything was perfectly organized by Elisabete, being a great and very friendly host.

  • Outstanding experience!! I travelled alone to Chicago for the first time, and had never used airbnb before. It couldn't have been easier. Elisabete was a fantastic hostess, and her place is in a great part of Chicago, with short walking distances to upscale shops and restaurants, as well as buses and brown line transit. Elisabete was very helpful with suggestions on where to go to eat, and how to navigate the city. The room is very clean and comfortable with large bright windows and a zen feel. Elisabete was so generous and kind, and her little dog will greet you with such joy and exuberance. Even though I don't drink coffee, she surprised me with a delicious chai latte each morning! What a treat!
If this is your first time to Chicago or your new to airbnb, you can't go wrong with this listing.....honestly!
    Thanks Elisabete!!

  • I stayed with Elisabete for a week while in Chicago for work. It was ideal! She was a great host and the apartment was lovely, very clean, close to the el, and a great, safe neighborhood. Elisabete couldn't have been a nicer, friendlier host and I felt like she really cared about whether I had what I needed and how my stay was. I highly recommend both the apartment and the host.

Sweet! Thank you Mel, hope to see you on the Chicago marathon next year! You running... Best.

  • Elisabete provided a warm and welcoming place to rest my weary head during an intense business trip. Her pleasant conversation was a great bonus from my stay and I would definitely return to her home. Make sure you love (little friendly) dogs and don't mind a futon, which is exactly what I like best.

  • Elisabete is a lovely person , a lovely host and her pumkin coffee was outstanding. The room was great. Terrific location. . The only concern for me was coming back late at night and having some trouble finding the back gate, but I bought a flashlight and all was well.

Oh dear Rhoda you should let me know about your hard time of finding the back door... I could work with you n this issue... You are a lovely person :) thank you again for choosing my place, come back soon.

  • We spent 6 days in Chicago at Elisabete De Souza's house.
We felt at home because Elisabete is a very nice, kind and welcoming person. Her home is very nice, always clean and perfumed. We had fresh towels every day and coffee and juice every morning.
Indeed we suggest her house for those who want to visit Chicago.
