I believe this place is awesome and hope you will, too! Very special and cozy, this beautifully furnished one bedroom/one bathroom apartment/home is situated in the historic Old Town Triangle one of Chicago's trendiest neighborhoods, two stops from the loop, and one block from main bus routes and three blocks from the "L."
Visitors will have their own private bedroom in this place, which I live full-time. The guest bedroom features beautiful hardwood floors and crisp linens for the ultimate urban retreat. It's clean, spacious and cozy. The apartment is in a 117-year old (constructed in 1895). It's full of character and charm, with lots of natural light. This place has an eclectic, relaxing and quiet environment. Washer and dryer are available. The kitchen is completely stocked and I supply 2 sets of towels for the queen size bed
Free Wi-Fi and iPod/iPhone docking station for music listening. We're close to a number of great bars and restaurants and an easy walk to downtown or Lincoln Park and the lakefront.
I think you will really enjoy this neighborhood. This building is walking distance to everything Chicago has to offer: Lake Michigan and its beaches; Michigan Ave. and its magnificent shopping experiences; Chicago's finest restaurants and bars, live entertainment such as Second City and Zanies comedy clubs are just two blocks away, state of the art health club .
I'm look forward to hearing from you!
There is a convenient public transportation in the area, buses and train. Parking is not easy always, I have some permits to park on the street.

Liz was a trip and such a great person. Her place was in a great location and was a very relaxed atmosphere. She even woke me up one morning when I overslept and was late for my Class lol, thanks Liz!
Liz is very genuine in her desire to give the best airbnb experience to her guest. I am a frequent airbnb user and her offering is one of the most comfortable, reliable and worry-free experiences I've had in some time. The bedroom is truly a space of tranquility. The location gives easy access to Lincoln Park and all its evening entertainment ie. 2nd City and the Steppenwolf Theater. Highly recommend.
For my first Airbnb experience I wasn't sure what to expect. Liz has a two room apt and ONE of them is the bedroom. The bed is a very hard futon on magnets on the floor and Liz sleeps on the sofa in the other room when you are there. It has a tiny kitchen and finicky bathroom plumbing but there was lots of hot water. Unfortunately too, she has FOUR small dogs in cages living there now and she works very long days. They never go for walks. You have to be made of tougher stuff to not have this break your heart.
There was no offer of breakfast food or drink but Old Town was a 5 min walk away. The neighbourhood bar and food recommendations were excellent. Overall, too sad to return or recommend.
After reading this review, I was extremely appalled at the accusations and assumptions made regarding my dogs. To clarify, I have only one dog, who recently had two puppies. At the time of your stay, there were two puppies and the mother. They are meant to be in a crate together at all times as they are feeding and resting. Also, I do work 8 hour days as you mentioned. This is why I have my daughters come over (multiple times per day) while I am gone to let the mother out and walk. Your assumption that she stayed in the crate was completely wrong.
As for the bathroom plumbing, the apartment is in a historical landmark building. "Finicky" plumbing should be expected when staying in old, historical homes. I apologize that you may have had to wait 5 minutes for the water to heat up. As for the bed, it is actually a high quality mattress with Nikken magnets to promote circulation. You can (website hidden) search Nikken to read more about their products. The mattress is also on a low bed, not on the floor as you wrote.
Lastly, my listing states clearly that it is a one bedroom apartment and that I do live there full time. Every guest that has stayed with me has read and understood this prior to their stay. It seems to me that you may have preferred a more private stay, such as a hotel or vacation home. I would recommend that for your future Airbnb stays.
We had a big problem with this place. In the amenities section of the website it clearly says that parking is included. Not so. We spent hours driving around looking for a place - any place - to park. The last night we were there someone backed into our car and did considerable damage. We never would have chosen this location if we had known that parking was on the street.
Very nice experience. Perfect location, in the heart of LincolnPark/Old Town. Minutes away from anywhere you want to be and public transportation. Very clean, comfortable bed, very interesting conversation. I will go back for sure.
Liz is a friendly and cheerful woman. It is a great hostess.
She facilitated information about the city, and told me the best places to eat in the neighborhood.
The apartamneto is cozy, zen. The room is spacious and clean.
The location of the house is perfect if you do not have many days in Chicago, as it is located close to all major atractions.
I am delighted to have met her, and I hope we meet again!
I’m relocating to Chicago, and I was looking for an apartment in Old Town, so what a perfect place to stay! The neighborhood is convenient and gorgeous, and Liz’s apartment is a real find – definitely a Zen oasis to come back to after walking the streets of Lincoln Park and Old Town!
Liz is warm, friendly, sweet, and was very helpful to bounce ideas off of during my apartment hunt. She also gave me a lot of advice on apartment searching in the area.
Her place is clean and inviting. All of my needs were met – I was thirsty and she had bottled water for me to take out on my treks, and I needed transportation advice and she helped me figure it all out. I had a bunch of electronics to charge, and she had a bunch of open outlets. I really needed to sleep in on Saturday morning after a long week at work, and I never heard a sound! Very quiet and peaceful. She let me leave my things at her place until mid-afternoon on my “check out” date so I could continue to traipse about the neighborhood to make sure I had seen all of the apartments I wanted to see.
All in all, I recommend staying with Liz in a heartbeat!
Nice place in a beautiful neighborhood so close to the Lincoln Park, the Lake Shore, the Old Town
No more than five minutes to the closest metro station
Liz was a gentle and pleasant host, very respectful of your privacy
A great choice for your staying at Chicago
This is a fantastic place to stay, the location is perfect, close to metro and in a fun neighborhood with easy access to the waterfront too. My husband and I spent 4 days in Chicago and felt like we were staying at a long time friend's home, would love to be back and stay with Liz again.
