My house is situated at a strategic location of Seoul with the express subway line No.9 connecting to every part of the downtown area like the city hall and Gangnam in more or less 30 minutes. Even Hongik University is within a closer range.
Room A is a 13M2 bedroom available for homestay in my apartment house. It has two single beds and can house two persons. The room is equipped with an air conditioner. Wireless internet is available within the entire house. We have a common bathroom shared with Room B. The spacious living room is equipped with a powerful audio/visual system and guests, if they want, can enjoy various kinds of music from easy listening to classics.
At Incheon Airport, take the airport railway(non-express) to Gimpo Airport for 30 minutes and transfer to Subway Line No.9 (non-express) for a several-minute ride to Yangcheon-Hyanggyo Station. Then, get out of Exit No.3 and walk about 5 minutes to my house. When the reservation is finally confirmed, detail directions including the address and phone numbers will be given by email.
Interaction with Guests
Either myself or my wife will be available at home most of the times for interaction with guests. Sometimes if the guest requests or agrees, we would like to eat out, go on hiking or travel to tourist attractions together.
With my house at a strategic location of Seoul, the guests can enjoy easy access to not only the airports but also every part of Seoul metropolitan area by using super efficient mass transport system: Subway. In addition to many tourist attractions like ancient palaces, greeneries and shopping centers, the guests can also enjoy jogging & biking on the riverside tracks just behind my apartment. We also have one of Seoul's most beautiful riverside parks just a 100 meters away. It ranges 1.5 kilometers with various flowers, trees and gym equipment.
We have a hill nearby and can enjoy a one hour walk on its trail overlooking the huge Han River, which can also be viewed from platforms built along the riverside tracks.
Other Things to Note
Both subway trips from Incheon and Gimpo airports to my place are so easy and convenient. It is a several-minute ride from Gimpo and 30 minutes from Incheon to Gimpo respectively.
Neither pets nor smoking is allowed within the house. Please keep the room light off when you are in sleep.
I feel blessed to stay in Mr And Mrs Cha's home, even we apply for it last minutes, just one day before we arrived. We have fun and good chats every morning when we have breakfasts together. Mr Cha is knowledgeable, Mrs Cha is always friendly. Staying in their home make the trip rich, as we experience the Korean life. Many thanks!
it was my first ever travel abroad and i went solo, but i never felt alone because i got to share my seoul adventures to two wonderful people who made me feel most welcome. mr and mrs cha became my parents away from home. i know i made them worry at times from the first day of my arrival to losing stuff while getting around the city to the last day going to the airport to catch my flight. but i will forever be grateful to them for taking care of me, listening to my stories, and providing warmth during my freezing week of stay (since i live in a warm country). i know i made a fantastic decision to stay with them during my dream vacation. i terribly miss seoul at this moment and can't wait to get back to my home away from home!
p.s. i love their apartment which is very near the majestic Han river and steps away from subway and bus stop :)
Where should I begin?
Living with TaeShik and his wife was probably one of the highlights of my stay in Korea. It felt almost like visiting my grandparents out of town.
TaeShik and his wife were always within reach. They were around to help me navigating around the city, providing me with meals and everything necessary to make my stay comfortable.
I'm slightly sad to leave them but happy to have had such a memorable and meaningful experience with them. Thanks for the hospitality Taeshik! You will be missed! And please do visit Malaysia sometime.
Oh common Kevin, your compliments are so excessive as to make my wife and me feel uncomfortable. Your stay itself was so brief that we had no enough time to spend together while talking with a brilliant young man like you was an extraordinary pleasure. Wish to see you again!
Mr. and Mrs. Cha are so wonderful. The place is accurately described. The neighborhood is super convenient. I will take my family there again next time.
They were great hosts, very friendly. They provided some very useful information about things to see in Seoul and went out of their way to help me along the way. You can't really ask for anything more from a host.
My daughter traveled alone to Seoul for the first time. Mr. and Mrs. Cha were very gracious and took very good care of my daughter. They gave her directions where to get to where she wanted to go. Per my daughter, the room is very nice, clean, spacious, had everything she needed. The apartment is located in the tonier part of town, very accessible to bus stops, subways and good restaurants. It is a block away from Galleria, a high end department store. The trip was very memorable, thanks to the Cha's. When my daughter goes back to Seoul, I will make sure she books a room with them again!

Worked for a leading construction firm in Seoul. While in work, I had been stationed in Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia for about 18 years. I have been Airbnb host over 3 years now and also participating in the Koreastay program launched by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
My wife and I alike are fond of meeting and talking with people of different cultures and have traveled to many countries in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and Oceania. The highlight was a 3-month driving tour of Europe in 2006, a third of which with my daughter's family.
