This large studio with queen bed, bathroom with shower and kitchen area with refrigerator. Wireless internet is also readily available. This studio is adjacent to the basement and is looking out toward a small courtyard. The building is also located on a hill.
A coin-operated washer and dryer are located in the building and can be used from 8 AM to 10 PM.
The location is very convenient for walking to Lafayette Park (half a block), Fillmore St. (5 blocks) with its boutiques and restaurants, Polk St. (3 blocks) with stores and diverse cuisines, Union St. (five blocks away - not Union Square) with its pubs and dining venues, and Whole Foods Supermarket (3 blocks).
We're centrally located and many people walk everywhere and enjoy the architectural variety of this neighborhood and its landmark buildings.
Buses are one to two blocks away providing convenient access throughout San Francisco. The bus lines 1, 12, 19, and (phone number hidden) are within a few blocks.
I stayed in Jay's apartment for two and a half months and Jay is a lovely host. She is instantly there if you text with a question. The location of this studio really can't be beat. It is in the beautiful neighborhood of Pacific Heights and just blocks from bus lines that take you downtown (15-20min walk plus bus ride on the 1 to Union Square). The street itself was always very quiet and safe feeling. The studio is next door to Lafayette Park, which is the perfect place for a picnic on a sunny day and has views of the bay. It's also in walking distance of Fillmore, Union, and Polk streets.
The apartment itself is large for a studio and is just as pictured (no microwave, for instance, and fairly basic). I do want to give a heads up to interested people that though the wifi was great, there isn't any cell reception. I did get a cell booster which worked alright and could be an option for those staying for long periods of time. Also, the dryer needs at least two rounds to dry.
I feel incredibly fortunate as someone who knew nothing about San Francisco when picking places to stay to end up with a welcoming host in such a beautiful neighborhood.
Jay's place was nice and spacious for a studio apartment and had all the cooking appliances that you need.
Wifi was great, however, we had no cell reception and had to go out the front of the house in order to get reception.
Overall, it was a great place to stay, we stayed for 10 days and would consider staying there again.
I stayed at Jay's with my boyfriend for a summer in SF. The apartment is in a location that can't be beat - a short walk from Polk Street restaurants and Fillmore Street shopping. Also walking distance from pretty much everything in the city, from the Golden Gate Park to SoMa. The apartment is small but functional, with everything you need. So glad we found this place, as it was a perfect summer rental!
Fantastic place to rent. The location is perfect, close to Van Ness and Polk st. I love this area.
Jay is a perfect host. Always available via text message or phone.
Highly recommended. I already re-booked this apartment for my next visit in SF
This is a fantastic place to rent. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Pacific Heights... gorgeous houses, close to Van Ness and a lovely park just up the street. It was incredibly easy to navigate the city and get to some of the great spots... the cable car is only 4 blocks away and cabs are easy to come by on Van Ness. Would highly recommend this location for a cheap stay in a great part of San Francisco!
Jay is a wonderful host. She met me promptly when I arrived and was always available via text or phone if I had any questions. The studio was lovely… very comfy. There is a laundry room in the building, and it was close and convenient. Bus and cable car stops are within a few blocks, and Whole Foods is only 3 blocks away. Van Ness and Polk St. are also only a few blocks away with many local restaurants, shopping, etc. I really enjoyed my time in San Francisco.
Jay's studio was wonderful! It was in a great location (right by Lafayette park in Pacific Heights, one of the nicest neighborhoods in San Francisco). There are many good restaurants within a short walk, and several bus lines make it easy to access the rest of the city.
The studio itself is very large and comfortable. It has everything you need for a short stay (kitchen, comfy bed, couch, table, etc.), and is silent at night
The internet access was a bit slow / inconsistent (we used a MiFi instead), so you should check about this if you need fast & reliable internet access from the studio itself.
lived in SF many years ago. city holds my passion. Was just visiting for the weekend.
Jay's studio was just like described, it is in a great location and the broadband was so fast! Would stay there again.
