Eric and Dympna live in a modern 3 storey beachfront guesthouse in the quaint and picturesque seaside village of Duncannon. The friendly village also has a working fishing harbour, and is built around a spectacular star shaped 16th century fort. The village has a couple of nice pubs which serve excellent food and are a great place to sit and relax after a day sightseeing.
Our uniquely situated home has 3 en-suite rooms for guests, each with large south facing windows giving exceptional views of the award winning beach and surrounding Waterford estuary. Your room is a very comfortable double ensuite. Your stay with us also includes a hearty Irish breakfast, which will be served to you while you take in the magnificent views from our breakfast room directly overlooking the beach.
The surrounding area is renown for outstanding natural beauty and has remained unspoiled, while still easily accessible to all major routes. Duncannon is 2 hours from Dublin or 45 mins from rosslare ferryport.
Absolutely loved it. So bright & beautiful overlooking the lovely long strand of beach. Excellent hosts & delicious Irish breakfast. Nice pub around the corner featuring traditional Irish music with very friendly locals. Historic Ft Duncannon at the end of the road is a short walk away. You will love Seashells and Duncannon.
My stay at Seashells was a delight. Dympna and her husband were excellent hosts. A great stay was made with a fresh and comfortable bed, strong water pressure in the shower, full view of the shore, well made Irish breakfast and good coffee, reliable wifi and a peaceful setting.
A lovely small town and a great B&B, right on the beach. Had an amazing stay with very welcoming hosts, a comfortable room and nice breakfast in the morning. Perfect get-away
Dympna and Eric were very friendly and accommodating. The room had a magnificent view and the breakfast was beautiful. I would highly recommend their place to anyone staying in or around Duncannon.
Oh what can I say about this beautiful place it's awesome .. Lovely white room with shower and toilet all very clean and the breakfast was fantastic full Irish ..I have no hesitation in recommending Duncannon to everyone I hope to go back one day ...loved it
I fell in love with Seashells the moment Eric led me through the lovely atrium entrance to the gorgeous shared breakfast room/lounge with an entire wall of windows looking directly out at the beach, the sea and the surrounding mountains. My room was equally stunning, with everything sparkling clean and an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent, too. The B&B is easy to find with convenient parking right at the door and a pub with very good food a 5 minute walk away. Dympna and Eric are gracious, considerate and helpful hosts. I would recommend Dympna's place enthusiastically to all of my friends.
The position of this BNB is amazing. When you are sitting at the dining table having one of Eric's amazing Irish breakfasts, you feel like you are so close to the water you are basically in it.
The accommodation is very clean and tidy and both Dympna and Eric make you feel very welcome.
Pubs handy for meals and Fort at end of road for history enthusiasts.
And plenty other interesting sights within an easy drive from here as well.
Welcomed by a bright and breezy Dymphna! Our room was lovely it was at the back of the property with amazing views of Duncannon beach. Clean and comfortable would recommend for anyone looking for a couple of days away from a hectic life!
Dympna's house is really lovely and the couple was veeery nice and friendly!
Fantastic location right on the beach, overlooking Waterford Harbour. Our room was comfortable and very clean, as was the ensuite washroom. Eric served up wonderful breakfasts and was a great source of advice and directions to local points of interest. Be sure to bring your swim suits because the water in the Harbour (in July) is wonderful. Highly recommended.
