Stay at this new guest house while traveling through Phnom Penh. This absolutely lovely place is owned by a Cambodian non-profit organization that runs Seametrey Children's Village, a Montessori nursery/day care center and a primary school next door. It enables children of underprivileged Cambodian families to get quality education which at the same time is strongly rooted in Khmer culture.
The school policy is social and cultural integration. Parents pay according to their income. Because of the fee structure, the school is partially self-sustainable. The guest house is a way to generate revenues to help sustain, improve and develop the school. Presently only Khmer teachers are paid. Foreign staff are unpaid volunteers. They come for short term, usually one to three months which is a bit unsettling for the children. It is hoped that with the revenues from the guest house the school will be able to offer a more stable teaching environment for the children.
The 3-story guest house was built in 2006 and is located on a quiet street in Phnom Penh's residential neighborhood Tonle Bassac. It consists of seven tastefully decorated guest rooms. The decoration is culturally inspired yet modern and comfortable. Each room is air-conditioned and has its own bathroom. Hot water is from direct solar heating. The guest house has a homely atmosphere. There is a large lounge with a snooker table and flat screen TV on the second floor. On the ground floor, there is a painting gallery, internet facilities, a cafe, a ping pong table and a swimming pool. For children, painting and clay play with or without the pottery wheel is available. There is a also an ox cart on display and a weaving loom with a weaver at work on certain days. A multi service desk is at your disposal to respond to your needs from sightseeings to mundane concerns like having a dress made or fixed.
By staying at this guest house, you help offer underprivileged families a quality education for their children and thus help them break the vicious cycle of poverty. If you wish, you can visit the school’s facilities next door and meet the children there. You’ll learn more about the Seametrey NGO that was founded 15 years ago and the school that has been running in its 8th year by visiting the school web (email hidden)
Mrs. Muoy You, the founder and director of both the school and the guest house, will be happy to show you around and answer your questions.
Feel good and do good by staying at this guest house, and enjoy a truly unique, unforgettable experience!

Goede ervaring. Vriendelijke staff, werkte goed mee.
This place is amazing. I recommend anyone coming to the area to stay here.
My room was large with a big bed and beautiful bathroom. The whole guesthouse is beautiful. The place doesn't look like much from the small side road it's on, but once the door opens it's like a new world. The ground floor common area is an inside/outside combination, which is charming. There is another common room in the guesthouse which has TV and a pool table.
The people working there are so nice and helpful. They have a small kitchen where they make delicious looking food (I didn't eat there). There is also a small, cool dog there. I also enjoyed talking to some of the other guests from around the world.
There are tuk tuk drivers at the house which made things very easy for me. I was able to hire a driver for my whole stay.
Finally, there is just something special about this house. It has some sort of energy to it that just makes you happy. Best place ever!
Muoy You Guest House as a fantastic place to stay. Having parked in a few different guest houses in Cambodia and Laos, this one is well worth the slightly higher price tag. Not only do the procedes go to a great cause, but the facility is really beautiful, clean, open, airy, well-decorated and peaceful. The staff are also truly fantastic, particularly the women in Four Ladies' Kitchen, downstairs. I unfortunately picked up a stomach bug in Laos right before I got to Muoy You, and the next day my stomach was upset and my whole body ached. As soon as I went to get some food, the women asked me what was wrong. One promptly sat me down for an incredible back massage, and advised me on what was best to eat for an ailing tummy. The others were super helpful when I wanted to carry my food back up to my room or when I need any help at all as a solo traveler. So grateful that I had such a lovely place to stay when I was a bit under the weather!
A place which makes u feel like home.. wonderful, friendly and cheerful staff.. food from Four Ladies Kitchen is good.. love the paintings as well.. I will come back soon.. thanks for having me.. :)
The guesthouse is vero clean and quiet. ten minutes by walking from the main attraction e.g. royal palace and the museum. the breakfast is amazing and the atmosphere of the house very pleasant. I really recommend to stay there!
It has been a month since we had the pleasure to stay at this unique place.
Unique in every single way.
An architectural gem that serves as a tranquil haven in a fascinating city.
Unique in how the setting, the people and the atmosphere make you feel at home.
But particularly especially unique through the host, Muoy.
It has almost been a month since we left with a deep admiration for the way Muoy gives not only meaning to her life but to so many people.
We had the opportunity to visit her new school just outside the city and were truly moved and impressed.
There is something about Muoy, her personality, her way of life, she as a person that has inspired me.
I left with her in my mind and heart.
This was a fabulous place to stay, although tricky to find. Very quiet and clean. Lovely helpful and friendly staff. I had a huge room that could have slept six easily. Unfortunately I was only there one night by myself.
I didn't have the chance to meet Muoy You; however, her responses were friendly, informative and timely.
I would highly recommend this as a quiet alternative accommodation that contributes to a worthy cause.
We had a wonderful time at You Kihn House. Actually we said WOW many times when we were shown around in the guest house the first time. At the ground floor there is a small restaurant with delicious food, a pool, and a gallery with lots of paintings. At the second floor there was a relaxing room with small library, a billjard (pool) and tv. For me and the children this was a oasis in Phnom penh, a place to relax and to have a nice time. The owner Muoy and the staff were wonderful, and it was a nice atmosphere in the guesthouse. We want to come back!
The gueathouse is wonderful, i spenylt 2 nights with my friend there. I like the breakfast and the wonderful service of the staffs there. The structure of the building is incredible.
