Gerardo and Heather were both lovely and welcoming. Gerardo especially went out out his way way to help smooth out a problem with one of the neighbors. Much appreciated. The sleeping alcove was lovely and the bed very comfortable, however the unit does have some issues related to humidity. It was quite and peaceful even though it was close to an intersection. I enjoyed sitting outside in the morning and reading. And of course it is very close to a beautiful beach.
6 Houses to the Beach was such a fun stay! Heather and Gerardo were great hosts, very attentive when we needed any help, and otherwise we all just went about our business.
This was our first trip to Hawaii and Kailua was the perfect spot for us. The beach that is near the house was so clean and not overrun with tourists. The town was small and traffic wasn't as crazy as places like Waikiki.
The sound of birds can be heard all day, and crickets at night. The geckos were so cute! Thank you, little geckos, for saving us from bugs!
Fridge was smaller, so we mostly got small snack foods and visited Whole Foods quite a bit (the best pineapple is in their deli!). Always good to take kitchen inventory before you head out for any supplies, we ended up at the store several times for odds and ends (this is just a general AirBnB tip, not specific to any stay).
Thank again Heather and Gerardo!
Our stay at Heather and Gerardo's studio was wonderful! The studio was clean, comfortable and close to the beach, just as described! Kailua is an awesome town with everything you need for stay within a close distance. It is also perfectly located to go anywhere else on the island in an hour drive! The beach was AMAZING! Our 2 favorite things to do during our stay were to wake up, make a cup of coffee and go watch the sunrise on Kailua and go swimming with the sea turtles on the next beach, Lanikai.
Heather and Gerardo are so pleasant and had great suggestions of places to eat and visit. There are a lot of helpful guide books in the apartment as well. We really appreciated using the towels, boogie boards and snorkel equipment that Heather and Gerardo had. We loved our stay and can't wait to recommend it to our friends and family! Hopefully we will make it back to this magical place and have the opportunity to stay here again!
Thank you Heather and Gerardo for making our first trip to Hawaii a memorable one! This was the best vacation we have ever been on!
Communication was very good. Listing was as described. Bed was very comfy. Very close to beach. Walk into town to restaurants, coffee, shopping. Quick drive to even more selections. Beautiful back yard. Room very open so if you are concerned about privacy you might want to rent the upstairs unit. It didn't bother us though. We were pleased with the rental.

This place was perfect for me and my girlfriend. Heather was responsive to my texts/emails and was ok with us checking in late as we were busy the entire first day. Close to the beach is an understatement...just a short 10-15 walk and we were there. The area we loved so much...plenty of shops and restaurants...a Whole Foods, local eats, even a Salvation Army that we had to buy luggage from to bring back all of our souvenirs. We loved the pace of the area as opposed to when we went to Waikiki which was just a bit too busy. Heather and Gerardo had beach towels, scuba gear, boogie boards and a cooler which we all used as we just went around hitting up all the beaches on the island. Heather was also super sweet letting us borrow a scale to use for our luggage. Her energy was infectious and she was a pure delight when we met. This was a perfect place for us to stay and we will definitely be back and use them again.
We had a fantastic time staying in Heathers place. It was so close to the beach and shops. Plus we were very close to many tourist attractions and honolulu. We would highly recommend others stay here!

We recently moved from New York to Hawaii for better health and quality of life; and boy, did we find it! We love it here and since we are only 6 houses from the beach we go everyday for a swim in the beautiful clear waters of the Pacific. The high mineral content of the water is wonderful for what ails you! We especially like the weather, consistently warm without humidity and trade winds that keep the air sweet and clean. We're social people, (my husband is in the entertainment industry) and really like meeting all the different people that come to stay in our cute rental to enjoy the wonderful beach community of Kailua.
