Kris was a great host- he was very friendly, communicative and always quick to respond with any issues which arose (these were minor in any event- once the internet was playing up (which Kris got straight on the phone to the company about) as well as installing a small curtain in the bathroom by the shower). The place was exactly as described. It's small, but fine for one if you don't need a huge space to feel comfortable in. The location is probably the best thing about it- it is fantastic- it's in a lovely spot on the upper west side, it's safe, and there's restaurants and corner shops close by for when you forget to do the food shopping on time. Even better, the 72nd st station (served by the 1,2 and 3 lines) is literally a hop skip and a jump away. I got to Times Sq in the mornings in 10 mins flat. Having a friendly doorman was also a big plus- he was there to collect my laundry for me whilst at work which was much needed and greet me when I came back at night.
Closet space was also good for a flat this size- lots of hanging room and drawers for one.
The only things I would flag about the flat are that 1) even with the window air con unit on full it still got very warm in there (having said that I was there in August!), and 2) the kitchenette is tiny- if you intend on cooking properly it is very difficult to do that because of the limited counter space. Having said that- the size of the kitchen area is pretty obvious from the photos anyway so shouldn't take anyone by surprise!!
Great apartment, great location, great hosts!
The apartment has everything you would need for your stay, its clean and well presented.
Stunning location mites away from the 72nd Street Subway, Central Park and Broadway.
Kris & Daniela are great hosts, great communication prior and during the stay and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.
It's a pleasure for me to recommend this apartment. It's a very cute, beautifully designed (by Kris, who is an Architect) and very convenient. It's location is perfect: In the middle of the upper west side, one block from the 1, 2 & 3 subway and from the best supermarket, two blocks from Central Park and three blocks from Riverside Drive Park. Surrounded by great places to eat. Kris and Daniela are the ultimate hosts: prompt, friendly and caring. Highly recommend!
Very nice apartment perfectly located in the Upper West Side, everything you need in walking distance: supermarkets, pharmacies, diverse shops, metro and bus stations and even the Central Park.
The 24hours door man gives you a very safe feeling and laundry facilities in the basement make the stay very convenient.
Arranging everything was very easy with the owner Kris, he was also very generous with the check out time and the replacement of a bowl I unfortunately broke the handle of.
I can just highly recommend this apartment and would definitely return if I needed accommodation in this area again!
Exceptional two month stay. Kris is easy going, prompt and professional. The apartment itself is amazing, perfect size for single (like me) or couple, and the locations, steps from the 72nd subway, could not be better. I love this part of town, close to the action but far enough away to avoid the crowds. The bathroom, usually an ugly feature in most NYC apartments in my experiences, is beautifully renovated with an excellent shower. The doormen and women are friendly and open. Overall, I have no complaints and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hello, My name is Kris. I am an Architect and professor of architecture here in NYC. I work for a young firm in Soho Manhattan and am involved in multiple projects all over the city. I grew up all my life in New York and have traveled all over the world making friends.
The Studio apartment in Manhattan is in a great location on the upper west side. Tree lined block. 1 block from central park, Subway lines, walk to midtown, Lincoln Center, to much to list......... 30+ days only. I have lived and redesigned my apartment for many years so it is very personal to me. Please treat as your own.
Also I have a room available in my two bedroom apartment in Astoria Queens. 15 min to Manhattan. half block from the subway. perfect location.
