The Wee House Retreat is centrally located between Murphy, NC, Blue Ridge, GA, and Copperhill, TN. We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and the Ocoee and Toccoa Rivers are nearby. Our cozy cabin is fully furnished with a queen-sized bed, full bath, a comfortable living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen which includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and miscellaneous cookware. Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you have to give up satellite TV, music, and WI FI. We have provided these amenities in your cabin too. There is separate parking and a private entrance. And, if you're worried about security the owners live on the premises. Interesting things to do include the Blue Ridge Railway, shopping at boutiques and great restaurants in town. Whitewater rafting, kayaking, zip lining, hiking and biking are all nearby. Apple orchards and leaf color in season. Discover peace and tranquility at our adorable mountain hide-a-way nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. This retreat will satisfy your body and soul.
We had a super week at the Wee House with Mina and Geoff. The middle of May is a great time to visit the area. The cabin is really quaint and the setting is so peaceful. Everything about the Wee House filled all of our expectations and then some. The Kinder's advise was most helpful. We hope to visit with them again. Well, you just can't beat Mina's muffins either.
Our stay at The Wee House was a refreshing, welcome retreat from city life filled with beautiful mountain scenery, delicious food, and fantastic new friends! You absolutely cannot ask for sweeter hosts than Mina and Geoff! They were very prepared and willing to make us as comfortable and happy as possible. They are very knowledgeable about the area and have wonderful suggestions on restaurants and sightseeing! They suggested that we take a small trip to Boyd's Gap in Tennessee just over the border for sunset; we'd definitely recommend making the drive! Although we stayed during chilly March, heaters and a bunch of cozy blankets kept us warm and comfortable in the tiny cabin. Our stay was a wonderful experience, and we can't wait to go back!
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at the Wee House! The cabin itself is the perfect size for a cozy weekend getaway and the surrounding area is beautiful and well worth exploring. Mina and Geoff were super hospitable and we loved meeting them! They gave us some great suggestions about where to hike and restaurants to check out during our stay. We hope to go back and stay again!
Better Than a 5-Star Hotel!
We came to the Wee House as a little weekend getaway and were pleasantly surprised to find Mina awaiting us with open arms, delicious blueberry muffins, and a little gift on the table as well. The little house in the Georgia mountains was quaint, amazingly clean, and fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, bed linens, fresh towels, soaps, lotion, shampoo, and all the little 'ohh-did-I-forget-that?s'. We came in the cold months, and were worried that we would freeze, but there were toasty heaters awaiting our arrival. Mina and Geoff were helpful in telling us where (and where not) to get our groceries and other necessities around town, as well as attractions, and things to do in Blue Ridge. We went horseback riding on trails in the Blue Ridge mountains of Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee, which were all nearby. We went riding in the frigid weather, but it was fun, none the less. We also took a scenic drive on the Cherohala Skyway, which was quite a feat getting there from Blue Ridge in our little car in the snow, but once we arrived, it was smooth sailing. For a weekend getaway in the Georgia mountains, we'd highly recommend paying a visit to the kind folks over at the Wee House, as it offers privacy, a warm atmosphere, and all the comforts of a bed and breakfast, but with a lower cost, which was great for us since we chose to have a small budget for vacations. It's much better than any hotel, and we loved the hospitality that Mina and Geoff offered from the beginning of our vacation to the time we had to go home. Hands down, the Wee House gets a 5-star rating from us, and we will be sure to return next time we visit the Blue Ridge area!
First things first: Mina and Geoff are the most kind, helpful, welcoming hosts we (anyone!) could possibly have. From the very first night they made us feel like family, going way above and beyond the call of duty to give us a wonderful stay. Delicious muffins are just the begining of it!
Me and my Paramour rented the Wee House for a week around New Year's eve. Even in the winter the surroundings were very beautiful, and the cabin itself is a pearl, cozy and tidy. It has everything you'd want for a quiet retreat (and what we wanted extra (which wasn't little!) they happily provided us): the kitchen was fully furnished, the living room was quite spacious and made into two ambiances and the bedroom had a wonderfully delicious king size bed and a closet (and a cabinet with extra sheets, blankets and towels arranged to the envy of many a hotel). It was all made with such care and attention to provide for a home-like, very comfortable atmosphere. We even got to use their BBQ (sorry for the mess, Mina!) and borrowed half their spices cabinet.
If going in the dead of winter like we did, bring warm clothes and make full use of the radiator and blankets, as it can get chilly.
There's quite a bit to see and explore in the region if you like the outdoors. A beautiful stream runs mere meters away. We were very well informed by Mina and Geoff on sites, tracks and walks (with hand drawn maps nonetheless!), restaurants, markets and other facilities. It's a short car's ride to Mineral Bluff (for the laundr-o-mat) and other nearby towns where one can find pretty much anything (from fast-food to drugstores to real estate agencies). But the cabin itself is delightfully safe from any Interstate bustle. It's also really close to several national parks (it's surrounded by them, in fact).
We hope to return as soon as possible and enjoy the place and the Kinders' hospitality.
FANTASTIC!!! My boyfriend and I stayed at The Wee House for the weekend and it was not enough time. It was very comfortable and clean. Mina and Geoff were absolutely wonderful hosts and the blueberry muffins were delicious.
This cozy little cabin is tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains just far enough away to get a break from the city for the weekend.
We will definitely be back to visit!
I drove up to the Wee House for a last minute weekend getaway from the city. Mina was very accommodating with my last minute booking. The Wee House was just as advertised: a quaint, comfy, cozy, perfect rustic retreat. Even though the cabin was in the middle of the woods and mountains, it still provided all of the comforts and conveniences of home like a hot shower with great water pressure, plenty of toiletries in the bathroom, all of the necessities in the kitchen, high speed internet access, and dish TV (no cell phone reception though on the AT&T network). I spent the evening star gazing and eating s’mores. Mina's muffins lived up to the hype and were a welcome addition at breakfast the next morning. With everything I needed right there in the cabin and no desire to go elsewhere, I generally lounged for the remainder of my stay and was sad to see the weekend come to an end. Thank you, Mina and Geoff! Nov. 2012
Mina was so good to me and my wife. She was wonderfully kind, accomodating and warm, and she went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and special (the muffins were delicious!).
We loved the Wee House. The setting is beautiful and the house is cozy and very comfortable - the perfect hideaway. We wish we could have stayed a lot longer than we did!
What a wonderful getaway from city life! Mina and Geoff have a very appropriate last name..they are the kindest hosts we could have asked for! Mina was in constant contact with me before we arrived so that everything was ready for m boyfriend's surprise birthday weekend. Everything we needed for a wonderful stay was already at the Wee House when we arrived including a birthday card for my boyfriend and homemade muffins! Mina and Geoff were so hospitable, telling us all we needed to know including detailed directions around the mountains and to a beautiful lookout spot so we could make the most of our short weekend. The Wee House is cozy, warm, and adorable..the last guest was right..those blankets are awesome! This is definitely our new favorite spot and we will surely be back for years to come.
Mina and Geoff live next door and are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Mina made us fresh blueberry muffins one morning. Wow, they were good!
The Wee house was exactly what we wanted, someplace off the beaten path but not too far from civilization. We spent two days there and never left, we came prepared with groceries and cooked all our meals. The kitchen is not huge but we managed to cook some big dinners and Mina offered to lend us anything we might need (olive oil).
The bedroom was cute, cozy, and perfect. It had a memory foam bed that caressed our backs, and a very cozy blanket that reminded me of one my grandmother used to have.
The cottage is well built, very clean, and has all the amenities you can think of!
We loved our stay here!
