Bright and spacious walk-up right on the border of the Mile-end and Little Italy neighborhoods. Place is clean, cozy, great for a couple, one person, or a couple friends (the couch in the living room is a fold out).
Internet's included, but I don't own a TV. Hopefully the espresso machine makes up for this. There's a sound system in the bedroom with a mini jack so you can connect a computer or ipod to be played through a great set of old Cerwin Vega speakers. I don't own a washer dryer, but right around the corner is a laundromat. Feel free to use my detergent and bounce, which I keep under the sink in the washroom.
The apt. is minutes from great coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and lots of hipster watching if you walk south to the heart of the mile-end (Bernard and St. Viateur ave.). And just a block away past St. Laurent is the up and coming area of Beaubien St. in Little Italy, where you can find a lot of great small restaurants, and a couple great bars that have popped up in the last couple of years. Oh, and across from the apt. is a great eastern european deli called Slovakia, where you can find some of the best goulash and sausages in mtl.
The 55 bus stops right outside my place, which takes you through the mile end and plateau neighborhoods, and further south towards old mtl and downtown. And Metro Beaubien is a ten minute walk should you want to hop on the orange line and travel underground.
If you have any questions, I'm always available, and willing to suggest the good places to hang out around the place. Enjoy!
Bob is a relaly nice guy and his apartment is nice, cozy, perfect for a relaxing short stay. GO FOR IT!
Great apartment, not fancy but the basics are there and the location is good. Spacious, with lots of room for two people to share which is what we were. Bobby has a lot of interesting art and photos which give it a lot of character.
The immediate neighborhood it is in isn't the most interesting but I loved the Mile End neighborhood which is just 10 minutes away and Little Italy and Outremont were also about 10 minutes walking. It's right on a great bike path so would be a great place to have a bike or get a Bixi.
The only things I'd say Bobby could look at are equipping the apartment a little better in a few areas. There were only 2 towels and the only sharp knives in the kitchen were a couple of small steak knives. On the flip side, the espresso machine was a really nice treat to have!
