  • We had a great 8 night stay at Maria's place. Everything was as advertised and the location was very convenient (short drive to the supermarket, and only about 15 min to Lucca and Pisa). We were 2 couples, and found the alcove above the stairs functioned fairly well as a second bedroom... (though its really best suited for children).

Maria was a great host, and accommodated our somewhat complicated schedule very well.

  • Maria's home was a superb base for our recent trip to Tuscany and is every bit as nice as the photos suggest. The tranquil location is perfect for a relaxed break and also allows for easy day trips to Pisa, lucca, Siena and Florence by car. Maria is a kind and welcoming host and I would strongly recommend a stay at her property.

  • My friend and I chose Maria Paolo's appartment for our first stay in Tuscany and the appartment was as nice as we expected it to be. Maria Paola is a friendly host, who welcomed us at the scheduled time. She showed us the house, told us she had put some cakes and a pie for us in the kitchen (they were tasty!) and gave us some extra information about the facilities. The house is very cosy and comfortable and it has everything we needed. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean and the neighbourhood is relatively quiet. The little terrace outside is perfect for a nice glass of Chianti or a sunny breakfast. The only downside from the lovely terrace is the presence of a few annoying mosquitos, but Maria Paola provided us with enough anti-mosquito-materials to keep them away. But still, anti-itching-cream may come in handy. The turtle in the garden was a nice surprise and we enjoyed the company of a friendly neighbour cat. From the town, Lucca and Pisa are very easily reached by car, which makes the appartment a very good base to explore this part of Tuscany. We had a good time, it's a nice place! Grazie mille!

Eravamo in quattro e siamo stati molto comodi.

The weekend I passed at Maria Paola's house was extremely pleasant. We were four and the house was really comfortable. This house is beautiful, renewed and kept very well and tastefully. Moreover it is located in the peacefulness, beauties and fresh air of the Tuscany hills.
It is really close to Pisa and to the seaside and I strongly recommend it for the owner's qualities: kindness, helpfulness and care for the hosts. Features we always would like to find in the people we meet during our trips.

    Response from Maria Paola:

It should be pointed that my house does not have any particular problems with electricity: in every home in the medium-voltage electrical equipment, I think all over the world, it is normal not to be able to use two or more appliances, all my guests so far not have had no trouble understanding this, and as regards the garbage does not depend certainly by me but by the rules of the municipality where you are staying and also in this case nobody has ever reported any problem in this regard, it is just to follow some rules ..

  • We travelled throughout Europe in July 2013. We stayed at a number of AirBnB properties. This property was the best we stayed in. The property was beautifully presented. The host, Maria Paola couldn't do enough to make our stay really enjoyable. Maria provided breakfast items which were most appreciated and she was also extremely knowledgeable about the local area.

We would highly recommend this property.

  • Thanks for everything Maria! We very much enjoyed our stay in Agnano and it was the perfect place to explore Pisa and Lucca and the surrounding area. The garden was wonderful (and the turtle) and we loved the small town feel. We hope to come again someday and thanks again!

  • Casa di Gino was a whimsical place to stay for our honeymoon, it was exactly as pictured on Air BnB and even though its not technically a BnB, the beautiful host Maria Paola ensured there was enough breakfast supplied to get us through the first couple of days. Out of all the places we stayed in Europe, Maria Paola was the only one who acknowledged we were on our honeymoon by generously providing a beautiful bottle of local wine for us.
We loved the tortoise in the garden (what a surprise he was!). He was just like a dog and would come running as soon as he saw you. There are also a couple of very friendly cats that live next door and if you're like me and are missing your own fur babies, they are perfect for a quick animal fix!
The village of Agnano is picturesque at the base of the Tuscan Hills, very quiet and close to Pisa as well as a little village (that I forget the name of) that has a small supermarket that had everything you need, including wonderfully friendly staff.
The villa itself feels just like home. It is very comfortable and clean and Maria Paola takes great pride in showing you around and going through some of the many tourist brochures available for your use.
Overall I would recommend the villa to anyone and give it a 10/10!

I am a tour guide degree in art history at the University of Pisa, enthusiastic about his work, I love to know my area rich in history and monuments suggesting alternative routes to the best known, but no less interesting. If you are interested in a tourist route we can talk about it and decide on the places to visit together (temporary exhibitions, monuments and museums of Pisa and province, Museums and Collections of Lucca, Florence ..) at a price which is set in relation to the route chosen.
