This is a lovely 2-room private suite with separate, outdoor entrance, up 1 flight of indoor stairs. Sitting room/kitchenette w/ small appliances. Deck with table & chairs. Queen bed in BR; sitting room w/ single day-bed. Good work spaces & wifi.
Center of downtown's a 10 minute walk, w/ cafes, library, art museum, galleries, shops, varied food take-out and restaurants. Don't miss the food co-op for groceries and take-out; or the co-op and Brown & Roberts hardware for home goods and gifts too.

The space
Our home is a sweet old house on a pleasant street. The suite has lots of light.

Newly-renovated sitting room/kitchenette with coffee-maker, coffee and tea, small fridge, toaster oven, hot plate, microwave and other tools for simple food prep. Includes a dining table and chairs. The single bed is located here, as a daybed. DVD player and Netflix connected to a good-sized screen.

Queen bed is in adjacent bedroom, with small chest of drawers, small table and 2 folding chairs.

Sitting room opens onto a deck that is comfortable in warm weather, with hillside view, table and chairs.

Multiple workspaces with outlets close by: 2 tables in separate rooms and a stand-up counter inside, plus the outside table on deck. Four different types of chairs to choose from.

Where you’ll be

Brattleboro, Vermont, United States

A wonderful street, hiking trails at the end of the block and along the rivers, views of Mt. Wantastiquet, a quick walk to downtown Brattleboro. Delightful Farmers Markets nearby: Bratt's summer market is 1.5 miles; winter is .5 mile. Putney summer is 9.3 miles.

Easy parking in our driveway plus free street parking in the non-snowplow season.

Year-round trails accessible from our street and throughout the region. Two rivers close by; marina, canoe and kayak rentals. Plenty of swimming to enjoy in local pools (one of them salt water) and 'swimming holes'.

Downtown:
-some of our varied restaurants are open with seating, some take-out.
- Food Co-op for groceries, deli, gifts. (Other grocery stores a short drive away.)
-library, art museum and galleries, shopping, cafes, banks.

My partner, Mary Diane, and I are happy to welcome you to our comfortable home. I am a retired Unitarian Universalist minister; M.D. a serious gardener, tractor jockey, kid magnet. I moved back to Vermont in 2013 after decades away. Over the years I've lived in New Mexico, Massachusetts and Maine, as well as San Francisco and Brooklyn. M.D. has been in New Hampshire, Vermont and Florida. I have two grown children: one an assistant principal, teaching school in Maine, the other a circus performer all over the world. I am busy building a boat here in Vermont, and was formerly a partner in a Real Estate office in Brooklyn. We find that offering our spare, private rooms to people looking for a friendly place to stay is a perfect use of our house. We have hosted guests from all over the world and enjoy the diversity and energy they bring to our home.
