Southwest One, is a magical, quiet, respite located in the countryside of Tennessee where you can enjoy painting, meditating and relaxing in an artists haven. Gardens, paths, interesting colorful structures, woods, a babbling creek, all within steps from the back door. An artist painter and her carpenter husband created this unique place to live and paint when they are not traveling. They now share it with other creative people who would like to experience and relax in these unique surroundings.

The space
Once you pull up the curved tree-lined drive arriving for your stay at Southwest One, you will be directed to your private entrance and be guided up the carpeted stairway to the second story of this unique property. The home has been featured in several tours of homes in the city of Gallatin as well as being featured in Southern Living Magazine along with the artist owner. The artist has several studio spaces set up on the property as well as a large gallery of her work which can be viewed by appointment. Artists who stay are encouraged to enjoy exploring the outdoor surroundings. It is beautiful in all of its seasons. In winter, the landscape is muted shades of moss green and browns, with bright rose-colored winter-berries decorating the paths. Spring the daffodils and tulips are blooming as well as redbuds, dogwoods, and the creeks are flowing swiftly. Mid summer is for walking along the shade-tree lined gravel road to rest on a bench until evening when the fireflies come out. Crisp Fall days will always be ones that charm, squirrels and chipmunk scurrying everywhere storing food. At night the owls make themselves heard as well as the coyotes. Many other beautiful birds and wildlife call this property their home. Burrows are everywhere, so you must watch where you walk. Ticks are prevalent so you should always tuck your pants into your socks before walking into the wooded pathways and along the creeks.
