Location of the apartments
The apartments are located at 141, VIA GREGORIO VII ("Via Gregorio Settimo"), in a lovely, small palace dating back to the 1930's. From the windows of our apartments you can see the spectacular Dome of St. Peter's. Via Gregorio VII runs alongside Vatican City. Just a short walk away (within minutes), you will find the world's smallest state.... Christianity's most sacred site.
The historical centre is about 1 km from Romahouse.
Several of the buses that stop right in front of Romahouse bring you towards Rome's most interesting sites within minutes (e.g. Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, etc.).
VIA GREGORIO VII is a beautiful, tree-lined street where you will find Romans and tourists alike. The neighbourhood boasts many conveniences: supermarkets and grocery shops, banks and drugstores, fine restaurants and fast food restaurants, and all kinds of retail stores.
Upon your arrival you will be offered a map of the area, filled with useful hints about how to get around.
A local market "at your front door", among real Romans!
Every morning a vibrant, open-air market makes Via Gregorio VII cheerful and lively. There, you will find various booths: fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and meats, breads and pastries, as well as street-vendors selling clothes and household items.
Several of the buses (phone number hidden)b, 881, 98) that stop right in front of Romahouse bring you towards Rome's most interesting sites within minutes (e.g. Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, etc.).
The next railway station "San Pietro" is a 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

We had another good stay with Martin and he will always be our go-to place for Rome. He picked us up from the airport, which was incredibly convenient especially considering that my wife's parents were with us this time.
He takes good care of his space and is a very communicative and efficient host.
Excellent apartment well positioned in Rome. Great host & very warm welcoming reception.
Soggiorno trascorso senza problemi (abbiamo trovato tutto il necessario per il nostro bambino, anche giocattoli). Host gentili e disponibili.
Martin was a fantastic host, very helpful and have us lots of information on how to get around/what to do during our trip to Rome. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and a short ten minute walk to Vatican. Lovely stay!
Martin was a very well organized and great host. Upon arrival he walked us through the apartment, gave us some suggestions of places nearby to eat but we mostly just explored the neighbourhood. You are literally a stones throw from the Vatican, ten minute walk from Trastevere (really fun neighbourhood), 30 minutes from the Colosseum even less to the Pantheon etc. We literally walked everywhere and it was fantastic. There is a market right outside your door where you can buy meat, cured meats, fresh fruit etc etc. The kitchen was actually very well equipped for cooking your own meals and we took full advantage of that. My one small complaint was the WiFi in our unit - we kept trying to find the 'sweet spot' which can be quite annoying - in Martin's defense we never bothered to bring it up so maybe he could have fixed it. Overall a great location, well organized host and a very clean, very functional apartment! Would recommend!
thank you for your positive feedback!
In future please let me know as soon as possible if something doesn't work and I will fix it within hours (mostly minutes) ;-)
Especially if the problem is connected to our internet! We are very proud of our stable and fast internet connection and also if there hasn't been a router in your apartment, the apartment vis-à-vis has got one and its signal is strong enough for both apartments in that floor. Did you use the "romahouse wifi 2"-net responsible for the 2nd floor? Or could it be that you tried to connect the computer with the 1st or 4rd floor internet which naturally has got a lower signal strength?
Anyway, it has been a pleasure to host you and I am sorry for the inconvenience with the Wifi.
Ciao and tanti saluti da Roma!
Martin was a great host, we took advantage of the shuttle service they offer (much recommended easiest way to and from the apartment and airport!) he was very helpful offering hints and tips for sight seeing the easiest way :) the apartment is in a great location. We loved seeing the dome of St. Peter's every morning :) the apartment is clean and has all you need and was warm enough in the evenings and cool enough in the day that we didn't need to use the heating or air con while we were there. The bed is comfortable although my 6ft boyfriend struggled as his feet came off the end (the shower may also be a tad on the small side if you are another tall person but nothing that can't be dealt with for a short stay!) A suggestion for an improvement would be to have 1 double or king size duvet rather than 2 single duvets on the bed as we found this to be annoying at night. Overall a fantastic stay in a great location with great hosts :) we recommend the pastry shop across the road and up the street too friendly staff and FANTASTIC food :)

Hi, I am Martin! I was born in Salzburg - Austria forty-three years ago. After a rather tranquil life as a teacher for music and math at a very nice place in the Austrian mountains I married my Roman girlfriend Daniela and an exciting life in the whorled capital of Italy started. Together we are managing our Romahouse holiday apartments now for nearly 14 years. It is a great experience to get known to so many different cultures from all over the world by renting apartments. This exploration of different custom and languages at work brings you sometimes a certain holiday feeling at home, too!
Thus we like to cook not only pizza and pasta at home... but also delicious food from Austria across Asia beyond America inspired by our guests.
In our holiday season we like to travel: Europe, Africa, Asia - sometimes cities but mostly we want to refresh our self in intact nature because this contrast from the daily "big city environment" is sometimes a necessary cure for our body and spirit.
Recreated back home in Rome again we are glad to
introduce our holiday experiences into our work.
