The apartment is located on a hill top in the neighborhood of Graça, the highest of the hills of Lisbon, thus becoming the highest part of the city.
The apartment has a living room, 1 bedroom plus 1 bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, decorated in an informal style and modern, has a terrace with a magnificent view over the city of Lisbon. Therefore during your stay enjoy the sunset from this terrace, at least once, with a glass of your favorite drink and will be a moment that you'll never forget.
Lisbon is a city blessed with beautiful scenery that can be enjoyed from different perspectives. The terraces and viewpoints in the city provide both quiet and are great places to enjoy the light of Lisbon, the sunset and the stunning views over the River Tagus.
n the neighborhood of Graça, next to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora do Monte, is one of the most beautiful sights of the Portuguese capital. The viewpoint of Senhora do Monte has the shape of half an orange, is shaded by leafy trees that surround it, and also counts a mosaic indicative of sites that can spot up there.
Walk out the apartment and you can take tram 28, the most famous and iconic of Lisbon, and admire the narrow, hilly streets of the slopes, in this typical transport. In one of the busiest streets of the city, Rua da Graça, there are several mini markets, grocery stores, shops and cafes.
15 minutes walking is the Pantheon and Cathedral (Cathedral) and about 20 minutes walk is the splendid Museum of Fado (Fado - Intangible Heritage of Humanity) and Tile Museum.
With a curious mixture of cosmopolitanism and rurality, this area is known and sought after throughout this environment, where there is an atmosphere that is considered unique.
The neighborhood adjacent to Graça is the neighborhood ofAlfama, one of the oldest in Lisbon, residential and traditional sights, cafes, churches, reflecting the real spirit of the old Lisbon with its alleys, humble homes, artists and fado houses.
If you like outdoor fairs do not miss the flea market, the market's oldest city, 10 minutes from the apartment where you can buy clothes, furniture, vintage magazines, etc..
There are several buses to go anywhere in the city, just down to the station of Santa Apolonia, 10 minutes, although one can easily walk to the main points of the city.
By de end of the day enjoy a drink in a terrace at the viewpoint of Graça, near the Castelo de S. Jorge, where you can admire the entire city. There may be some kind of show, most likely, someone to sing Fado.
I'd like to start off by saying that the folks at Short Stay were incredibly responsive and immediate in their responses. They provided excellent directions to the location of apartment. The terrace in the apartment has a gorgeous view of the city. Just stunning.
Unfortunately we had several issues including loud neighbors above (we weren't able to sleep the 3 nights we were there) and although i understand the company can't do much about this, we paid a hefty fee for a loud place. We woke up to them one morning screaming at each other - in a pretty crazy fight. The location is quite far and we were not given a good map or directions on how to get from the apartment to the central area of Lisbon. The location itself was ok, pretty isolated, but close to a fantastic look out point. There were ants in the apartment, and although someone came by with ant spray, it didn't help- the ants kept coming back. We chose an apartment to be able to cook, but we didn't feel comfortable doing so because of the ant issue. The bathroom is quite small, so if you're a tall person (5'8" and up), i don't recommend staying here.If you plan on staying in Lisbon for a week, this is a good choice, only if the neighbors upstairs are away. I'm sure they have other locations available and based on the company's service, I'd recommend using these guys. Just ask for a good map and clear directions on places you'd like to visit in town.
The service is great, but the company should have a conversation with the neighbors and do something about the ants. These shouldn't be issues for a place that cost us $99 a night (there were significantly cheaper options available in Lisbon).
thank you for your review. We appreciate the compliments to our company and staff and it was a pleasure receiving you and your friend.
As for the issues with the neighbours, we are very sorry you had this experience, but there is really nothing we can do about it, except offering you another apartment. The ants problem has now been eliminated.
We hope you have enjoied our stay in Lisbon and would love to see you again.
Nice apartment with a marvelous view! Unfortunately, the apartment was not heatet when we arrived and therefore quite cold for the first two days. Furthermore, there was a problem with ants in the kitchenette. We had to store our food separately.
Everything was like described. Communication was really fast and easy. We really appreciated our stay in Lisbon in your Appartement.
Everything was clean.
The only things we didn´t like that much were the following:
There was no "real" heater like we know in Germany. So it was a little bit cold inside. But nontheless we would appreciate to stay in that apartement again, but only in summer. And the fuse has always blown when we switched on the oven. But all over all, it was a great stay, in a tidy place with a fantastic view.
We can really recommend that place.
Absolutely amazing view from the apartment. The best food we had in Lisbon was located at a cafe just down the street. I'm so lucky to have stumbled upon it. The was an issue with the shower but would 100% stay again. Sara was fantastic and gave us a lot of recommendations for the city.
The apartment was beautifully situated, right by the Tram 28 that takes you to all the interesting sites. It is also very close to a lot of commodities. The terrace and it's view is amazing !
The hostess was extremely helpful & accommodating.
The place modern but a bit smaller then the pictures show. The walls are thin and neighbors could easily be heard. The kitchen is sparsely equipped but has the basics.
It was generally clean but unfortunately there was a pretty bad odor that lingered for our 4 day stay.
Great flat with gorgeous view of Lisbon. In case the view from the flat's terrace is not great enough - to the Miradouro da Senora do Monte it's just a minute to walk. On arrival we got a superb introduction of the most important things to see and do. Well recommended!!
The view was amazing and also the neighbourhood is very nice. Just 5 min walk you'll find lovely cafe's and restaurants. Graca and Alfama are for us the loveliest neighbourhoods of Lisbon.
But... What we didn't like about the appt was the smell outside and the noise of the neughbours above inside. We could hear too much of them, especially at nights.
This place is really as nice as it looks on the pictures. The location is great, literally next to one of Lisbons greatest view points, and a good starting point for exploration tours through the city. The tram line 28 stops around the corner, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The communication with Margarida and her coworkers was easy, everything went smoothly. The only point we were not so happy with was the double bed - it was pretty squeaky and could have been a bit more comfy. Hence only 4 stars, although otherwise I would really recommend this pretty place.
