The space
Covid-19 update: We are disinfecting surfaces and commonly-used items such as remote controls, door handles and light switches, and fully airing out the suite between stays.

This place is the larger half of a 2800 sf duplex that sits on an entire square block in downtown Florence. Suite A is 1600 sf and the owner lives next door in the smaller suite (B). Each suite has its own entrances and back yard, with a fence and gate between the two yards, so you will have plenty of space and privacy,

The Rowhouse is perfect for couples, families, and wedding parties. It is equipped with a full kitchen, including pots & pans, simple seasonings, coffee and half and half. Bathroom has a walk-in shower, soaking tub, towels, shampoo & body wash. Living room has a "smart" tv you can use to connect to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or any other apps you might use. Bedrooms have queen-size, memory foam beds, extra blankets & pillows. Your back yard has outside seating for 12, a lovely cactus garden, patio lighting & a grill.

The Town of Florence was founded in 1866 and is the sixth-oldest non-Native American settlement in the state of Arizona. Florence is less than 1 hour away from the Phoenix metropolitan area and a little over 1 hour from Tucson. Manuel Robles made the adobe blocks and built this house in 1881. The residence is an excellent example of a modified Sonoran-style rowhouse. During renovation, its beautiful historic details were maintained, while adding modern comforts. The interior of the property is designed to provide our guests with a comfortable and homey setting for time with your friends and family. Inspired by the history of the town's design principles, mid-century modern furniture is paired with unique elements like clawfoot tubs and antique dressers turned into vanities, to add personality and keep the desired timeless look throughout the property.

Where you’ll be

Florence, Arizona, United States

Florence is a very cool little town. Safest town in Arizona(!), quaint, walkable. Restaurants, some shopping (the hardware store is amazing), and a great dog park six blocks away. And the winery! Thursday and Saturday nights especially, with music and food trucks and really good wine.

I'm a writer who until recently divided my time between Missoula, Montana and San Francisco. Arizona is new to me, but so far I love it. I travel as much as I can and have spent a lot of time overseas. I've lived in Hong Kong, Saigon and a very small village in the middle hills of Nepal. I once taught at a traveling high school with a bunch of whitewater kayakers and went through several massive rapids on the Zambezi River upside down. My sister Terese and I bought this amazing place in early 2020 and are so happy to be able to share it with travelers. I live in the other half of the duplex, in Suite B.
