What amazing hosts Joanna and Freddie are! We had a lovely time at the apartment, which was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. But beyond that, they were incredibly kind and attentive even after our stay when we realized we had left something important in the apartment. They stayed in touch with us and went above and beyond to send us our item! We were so grateful for such care and kindness.
Stayed here for a 3 day weekend with my husband our 2 month old son. The bedroom had enough room to prop open his bassinet and fit us comfortably. Joanna was extremely nice via email, and was a pleasure to chat with. I liked the flexibility of combo-lock that holds the key, allowing us to check-in and check-out at our leisure. Everything was very clean and I was very impressed. The bathroom is amazing! I took advantage of the large garden tub and took a relaxing bubble bath with the baby. The garage was perfect to fit our RAV4, and was very convenient. I would recommend this place to anybody visiting Montreal, and would definitely return. Thank you so much for having us! :)
It was our pleasure to host you!
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OTHER TRAVELLERS: you may read in the review below of Melissa that mentions that the heating system doesn't work. It is incorrect the HEATING SYSTEM WORKS perfectly fine. it is not easy to know how it works, it's detailed in our guestbook. But if you come during the winter, do not be worried that you will be cold as all works perfectly :O)
First, I must say that communication with HOSTS was AMAZING. Short, simple and sweet just like I like it.
As for the loft/appartment as soon as we got it...we knew we would have a great time!
Kitchen area is wide and well equipped!
Bed areas (I wouldn't call them bedrooms since only one bed is located inside a closed room...so shy couples and/or friends be aware) were a bit deceiving BUT I must say all beds/sofabeds were super comfortable!
As for the bathroom, my favorite place, was beautiful, simple and huge! Super modern shower and a beautiful big seperated bath charmed all of us!
Oh and how can I forget...there's a lil garage at the back of the pad...really useful!
And most important of all, everything in the loft/appartment was perfect CLEAN!
My only negative point would be the heating system! We visited this appartment during one of the coldest night in Quebec...and even tho we tried to open all (email hidden) did little to heat us up..mainly in the only closed room! So bring a really comfy and warm pj if you plan to visit this beautiful loft during winter!
Overall, I really recommand this place..and hope to book it during the summer next time!
8 friends and I stayed at Freddie and Joan's apartment for a long weekend. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and fully equipped (exactly as advertised). The neighborhood is nice and quite and everything you need is within walking distance. We always drove to downtown. It's only 10 mins.
I had to contact Freddie a couple of times before our arrival and he was alway accessible and very helpful. Great hosts. Thank you so much for having us :)
We had a wonderful time at Joanna and Frederique's place. The apartment is quiet big and very comfy, located in the HoMA neighborhood (ArHOMA bakery and a Metro supermarket right at the corner). The kitchen and the bathroom are very large and convenient. Note that the closest subway station is a 10-15 min minutes walk though.
Joanna and Frederique were very responsive whenever needed.
Thank you very much for your time !
I definitely recommend staying in this apartment if you're a group who like to visit Montreal and is looking for budget-friendly hotel alternatives.
I rented this apartment to accommodate eight of us for my brother's bachelor weekend.
Top three things about the apartment:
1) Perfect location - It is only two blocks from Joliette station, so getting downtown is simple. It close to some nice pubs and restaurants when you don't care to go downtown. (Espace Public and Le Valois are places to check-out).
2) Perfect size - Very comfortable for eight people.
3) Well maintained and appointed - The kitchen (with island range) and bathroom (with multi-head shower) look brand new. Everything was clean and proper when we checked-in.
Top three things about the host:
1) Very responsive - Email responses within the hour.
2) Very helpful - Useful information packages answer all the questions anyone could ever ask and makes for a simple check-in/check-out process.
3) Very pleasant - Joanna should be crowned "Miss Congeniality".
So, if you're looking for a place for between four to ten people, that is clean and nicely situated, and you appreciate friendly service, then this place and host will not disappoint you.
That's sweet! i had to look the word up "miss congeniality" : like it a lot! learned a new word :O) You are always welcome back Joe. Hope your brother is still "alive"! by partner doesn't want to marry because he is too afraid of what his brother, brother in laws, cousin and best friend could do to him... :O)
Joanna and Frederique's apartment was great for our group of 10 girls on a weekend away. They sent me plenty of information about the apartment as well as recommendations for things to see and do in Montreal. It was a bit snug with 10 in the place, since there is only one (very large, glamorous) bathroom and the second sofa bed is quite mini. But we had a great time there with no issues! A bit far from places to go out, and unfortunately one cab driver told us it is one of the worst neighbourhoods in the city! But we didn't have any problems, parking on the street outside was easy and the grocery store was within a short walking distance. I only wish we had better weather to enjoy the terrace more!
Just got back after spending St. Patrick's Day weekend in Montreal at this beautiful apartment! The place is as described and as pictured here. Very nice, modern, and well-equipped! We were reserved for 7 adults but only 6 of us ended up coming and we were all very comfortable here! The shower is awesome and the kitchen is just beautiful. Very easy to check-in and out!
About 10 minutes by car to centreville/downtown which equals to about $20, this is cheap if you're splitting the cab! Pretty handy location, depanneur just seconds away, Tim Hortons, Subway, and various little restaurants.
If we ever had an issue, the hostess was easily available via text and very accommodating. I wouldn't not hesitate to stay here again!
Cheers from Ottawa!! :)
This is my first-ever time renting a house from AirBnb and I must say, it was an amazing experience. It was very hard for me to plan a trip with seven other guys to stay at Joanna's house but she was so patient, respectful and very helpful which made everything work out in the end. Unlike most people, after I paid, she was still in touch and always was there to help me out anytime I needed it. On our last night, we encountered a problem with our trip back home but Joanna was very nice to let her stay another night in her home. Although we still paid, she was very helpful especially telling her at the absolute last-minute. All I can say about Joanna is that she is a really caring person and she will do whatever it takes to make your experience at her home and touring the city an amazing one; no doubt.
Apart from Joanna, the house was very clean and very organized. Although there is some evidence of previous parties (a couple chairs being wobbly, the sink not too powerful etc.), the house was perfectly clean and everything was neat. This made the stay at home very comfortable and fun for everyone.
With respect to the distance to downtown, my friends and I always took the taxi, which costed us usually $20 (including tip). It's not so far from downtown but you will need to cab or take the metro. The house is also very close to the Metro (grocery store), connivence stores, Dollarama, Tim Hortons and many other shops.
All in all, this trip was amazing and I couldn't have asked for a better house and a host.
I recommend this place to everyone, absolutely no doubt.
I just got back from a 2 week stay and had a wonderful experience. The house was clean, and everything was just as described in the listing.
Joanna was very helpful and easy to deal with during the booking process and always available if we had any questions.
Thanks again for a great stay in Montreal!
