We have a very unique little single unit cabin on our property in Silver lake, it has a log cabin feel. When inside, you feel as if you were in Big Sur or some other remote, mountainous location, until you step out onto the back porch and see the view of all Hollywood, the hills, the sign, Griffith Park observatory, and all the way out to the coast, THEN you're reminded where you are.
We have built a little kitchenette with a hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle with assorted teas and coffee, it's the perfect size for preparing simple meals.
There is a private bathroom which we've just outfitted with imported moroccan tiles.
There is a private entrance for guests, the cabin is separated from the main house by a walkway, it's very private, but only a few feet from house. Your back deck is connected to our back deck by a small staircase.
There is internet.
Convenient street parking.
There is a television with a wide variety of dvds, however we do not offer cable TV.
We are located right on the border of Echo Park and Silver lake, so we are smack in the middle of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. A stones throw from Los Feliz, a 5 minute walk to shops and delicious eateries and a 1 minute drive to get on the 101 freeway, so by car, just a couple minutes to downtown and hollywood (traffic permitting).
My wife and I both work in entertainment and the property is very conducive to that type of living, the house has always been inhabited by artists, musicians, filmmakers etc.
I have spent the majority of my life traveling in and around foreign countries, and when we have time off from work that's exactly what we do. I've been a guest a hundred times, and hosted people hundreds of times.
This neighborhood is very very unique, it's hip and eclectic and filled with culture, exactly the kind of place you'd want to see if visiting here for the 1st or the 20th time, it's not a neighborhood that a tour bus will bring you to (not yet anyway), just lots of young people doing lots of interesting things. It's a busy place, very productive, there's always a new gallery opening, a new restaurant opening, new bars, movies filming etc.
I have lived in LA for almost 13 years and there's no other neighborhood I'd live in.
Thanks to Brian Ferry for the wonderful pics of our place (website hidden)
No getting weird.
Patrick was great with prompt texts and emails if we needed any help or advice. The cabin is fantastic - after a long flight from Australia we took a cab to the cabin and were so happy to find it was just as described (better probably) and in a really handy location. We didn't have a car whilst in LA but I think this neighbourhood is one of the few where you can still get to loads of great stuff by foot, and we explored Echo Park and Silverlake with ease from Patrick and Danielle's cabin. I would definitely stay here again!
This was our second time staying in this magical cabin and we love staying there! It's a beautifully designed sanctuary in the heart of the city with incredible views and a super convenient location. The cabin's cozy, laidback charm is furthered by Patrick and Danielle's friendly and accommodating hospitality. Thank you!!
Great little cabin, in a great part of the neighborhood. It was clean, cozy and quiet. Perfect!
I had a great stay here. Brilliant location for what I needed, super comfy bed, quiet, lovely terrace and view, I liked it so much so I even tried to extend it but alas they were booked up. Next time for sure!
We had a super lovely 3-night stay in Patrick and Danielle's cabin. It was everything the listing promised it would be - charming, cozy, and comfortable. Like, "k how do we steal the bed" comfortable.
They were fantastic hosts. Communication leading up to our stay was great and we arrived and got settled no problem. Their home is right beside the cabin, and it was nice to feel they were there if we needed them, but also that we had complete privacy.
This is a really special spot. Inside, you feel like you could be out in the woods somewhere. The cabin is beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches like books, flowers, and everything you might need in the little kitchen.
Step out the back, and the view instantly reminds you where you are. I hate to call myself out as a total tourist, but spotting the Hollywood sign from the backyard was pretty exciting. Walk a few blocks and you're on Sunset, close to loads of great bars, restaurants and parks.
It's always hard when a vacation comes to a close, but it was especially difficult saying goodbye to this little gem. Thank you Patrick and Danielle!
It's a lovely cabin in the heart of Silver Lake and Echo Park, which is our favorite area to stay in Los Angeles. You're a walk or short drive away from many great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. The cabin is very cozy, the light is amazing, and the back porch is the perfect place to sit and sip coffee in the morning.
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

I grew up in both Southern California and Germany. After high school I spent many years traveling the globe, living primarily in Sweden and Italy. While living abroad I showcased my early work as video installations in the Palais du Tokyo in Paris and various other galleries in Milan, Italy. This work brought me back to LA to work more permanently in the film industry. I currently live on the border of the Silver Lake and Echo Park neighborhoods of Los Angeles with my wife and son.
We love to eat, watch movies, have our friends over to our house for dinners and travel out of LA as much as possible.
