Charming Silverlake/Echopark Cabin

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Coronado Terrace, Los Angeles, CA 90026, United States

The Space

We have a very unique little single unit cabin on our property in Silver lake, it has a log cabin feel. When inside, you feel as if you were in Big Sur or some other remote, mountainous location, until you step out onto the back porch and see the view of all Hollywood, the hills, the sign, Griffith Park observatory, and all the way out to the coast, THEN you're reminded where you are.
We have built a little kitchenette with a hot plate, refrigerator, electric kettle with assorted teas and coffee, it's the perfect size for preparing simple meals.
There is a private bathroom which we've just outfitted with imported moroccan tiles.
There is a private entrance for guests, the cabin is separated from the main house by a walkway, it's very private, but only a few feet from house. Your back deck is connected to our back deck by a small staircase.
There is internet.
Convenient street parking.
Coffee/Tea
Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap
Hairdryer
There is a television with a wide variety of dvds, however we do not offer cable TV.

We are located right on the border of Echo Park and Silver lake, so we are smack in the middle of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood. A stones throw from Los Feliz, a 5 minute walk to shops and delicious eateries and a 1 minute drive to get on the 101 freeway, so by car, just a couple minutes to downtown and hollywood (traffic permitting).
My wife and I both work in entertainment and the property is very conducive to that type of living, the house has always been inhabited by artists, musicians, filmmakers etc.
I have spent the majority of my life traveling in and around foreign countries, and when we have time off from work that's exactly what we do. I've been a guest a hundred times, and hosted people hundreds of times.
This neighborhood is very very unique, it's hip and eclectic and filled with culture, exactly the kind of place you'd want to see if visiting here for the 1st or the 20th time, it's not a neighborhood that a tour bus will bring you to (not yet anyway), just lots of young people doing lots of interesting things. It's a busy place, very productive, there's always a new gallery opening, a new restaurant opening, new bars, movies filming etc.
I have lived in LA for almost 13 years and there's no other neighborhood I'd live in.

Thanks to Brian Ferry for the wonderful pics of our place (website hidden)

  • We've Been to LA a few times but this was by far our best stay. The cabin is charming, cosy, cute, comfortable and nestled in a perfect setting even with a cute deck to have a beer overlooking the city at the end of the day. Silver lake is great and only a few blocks away. We couldn't recommend this more highly and it was great to meet Patrick as well... Such a lovely couple with great local knowledge. You should check out some of Patricks video work on Vimeo too... Beautiful stuff .

  • We loved staying here!
I didn't meet Patrick in person, but he was very accommodating and easy to communicate with on email.
The cabin is both comfortable and very cute.
I will be recommending to any friends visiting Los Angeles.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the Echo Park Cabin! It's a well needed escape from the urban sprawl. Everything inside the cabin is carefully thought through. Some of our favorite moments were sitting on the back porch watching the sunset. Patrick and Danielle had plenty of great recommendations for restaurants that are within walking distance of the cabin. They were so helpful in making sure our time in LA was as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend this for place for anyone looking for a unique LA experience.

  • This was my second time staying at the cabin. I hope to stay again. I can't think of a better recommendation I can give!

  • Charming is the word. Despite being nestled in the heart of a great and lively neighbourhood, once you step foot in this rustic building, you're transported away. A splendid view of downtown through some backyard trees brings you back to LA but prepare for a cozy bubble where you'll sleep wonderfully. I'd go back in a heartbeat and I may have to soon!

  • This was our first airbnb experience, and we couldn't have hoped for better. Patrick's cabin is like a little deetjen's in echo park. The place was clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. We didn't meet Patrick in person, but he was an excellent and accommodating host via email.

  • This is such a great spot, I recommend it highly! As the pictures show, this is a super cute, very cozy space. It's easy to get into on first arrival, and with access to outside space via the back deck. The location's great, smack dab in the middle of some of LA's best neighborhoods, and very close to the 101. Last but certainly not least, Patrick is really easy to communicate with, and super helpful. Definitely a great experience, two thumbs up.

  • Staying at Patrick's cabin was a dream. It is so cozy and I really enjoyed his attention to detail. The view out the back is extremely lovely. We never had any trouble finding parking; we were always able to park on the street right out front which made things very easy. Also, he was very attentive to our needs and responded very quickly. Probably my best AirBnb experience. Next time I'm in LA I will try to stay at his cabin again.

About
I grew up in both Southern California and Germany. After high school I spent many years traveling the globe, living primarily in Sweden and Italy. While living abroad I showcased my early work as video installations in the Palais du Tokyo in Paris and various other galleries in Milan, Italy. This work brought me back to LA to work more permanently in the film industry. I currently live on the border of the Silver Lake and Echo Park neighborhoods of Los Angeles with my wife. We love to eat, watch movies, have our friends over to our house for dinners and travel out of LA as much as possible.
