ATTENTION: If You query to stay in our house, please, introduce yourself in a request message, or fill the profile. A photo is also required (and that means Your clear photo, not the landscape's or pet's picture :). We would appreciate getting to know whom we will be hosting.
If You expect it to be 5star hotel, You'd be disappointed – it is not.
But You are welcome to enjoy our old, artistic, nicely decorated house, with it's history, in a beautiful and unique art deco/art nouveau small street, just in the center of Vilnius. Next to Gediminas avenue (main center street), Lukiskes square, St.Jacobs church.
Our guests rooms are housed in a 120 square meter apartment. House is quite spacious, three bedrooms are available for guests. We can accommodate 6 people at a time.
Notice that this exact room best suits for one person, though it has a double pull out sofa, just it is not big. So if You decide to book this room for two persons, then price for second guest will be lower than for our other guest rooms.
The house is old, but don't worry about shower – it is renovated. :)
Bedding and towels are provided.
Tea, coffee, etc. is also provided.
Our price rates depend on popularity of the space. If there's no bookings, we make it cheaper, if there's a lot of bookings – we make it more expensive. So reservation beforehand is always cheaper and more convenient to both sides.
Place is family friendly, it is located in two floor house, so not too many steps to climb. Though this concrete room could be suitable only for one parent and a kid (not two parents and a kid), because bed is suited only for two. In our other rooms beds are king size. Kid price is 5 Euros / per day.
Information for animal allergic people: a cat and a dog sometimes live in our house.
P.S. In Vilnius we have very high quality and tasty water from the tap (one of best water in all over Europe cities), so we kindly ask our guests not to buy water in plastic bottles. Mind the inviroment.
My trip to Vilnius was my first airbnb-experience and staying at Marija’s and Alexandra’s place was most definitely the best start I could have had using airbnb. Both were wonderful hosts and made me feel very much at ease during my entire stay. Even though we only had a few occasions for a little chat (as I was in Vilnius for only 3 days and mostly strolling around in town), it was great to meet such kind and open-minded people.
Marija was very helpful and gave me a lot of very good recommendations for restaurants, bars and cafés, which made my trip to Vilnius even better.
I felt like at home from the very moment I entered the house. The room I stayed in is very cosy and well decorated. The mixture of old furniture, artistic items, photos and paintings creates a unique, inspiring atmosphere in the whole house. I also loved the dog of the house Balta and the (quite shy) cat, who both would always welcome me home, when coming back from the centre.
The house is very well located right next to Gediminas Avenue, which gets you to the very centre and the old town within just a few minutes walking. Also the place is very easily accessible from the railway station (just a few stops by Trolley bus) and the airport (a bus stop is just a few meters away from the house and the ride takes you some 15mins).
Altogether I can absolutely recommend Alexandra’s and Marija’s place. It is the adequate place to discover this beautiful and magical city of Vilnius.
Best location, best hosts. Thank you for the best friendly guest house experience:)
Alexandra and Marija were extremely polite and helpful. In the first minutes I have shocked that the outer door opened for me before I knocked. Beautiful Marija was so kind to give all tips beforehand so I ashamed to steel any more time with silly questions. I wish I had talked more after reading their considerations about me. Next time for sure:)
Marija was an awesome host, considerate, fun, and helpful! We didn't have much time with her as we spent only two nights and one full day in Vilnius, but really enjoyed our stay at her house. The house is located in the very center of the Vilnius old town, just 2 minutes walking from the local Arbat/Istiklal/5th. Ave/whatever called Gediminas ave. The premise is two-storey, wery spacious and packed with beutiful paintings and ancient furniture beaming the spirit of the town and Marija's artistic family. Marija is a vegetarian, and supplied us with a long list of veg. (as well as non-veg.) places in the downtown even prior to our arrival. Two residents, a very friendly dog, Balta, and an extremely self determined cat, accompanied us all the time for very natural reasons as we seemed to be the only meat lovers in da house )). Marija speaks good Russian and flawless English, so we would recommend staying at her appartment to all other young families and individual travellers coming to Vilnius.
Alexandra and Marija's place is indeed a charming spot. the room was really tastefully designed, bed v comfy, and Marija was a great host (alexandra was away at the time). Within walking distance of lots of sights (esp the castle and one of the main shopping streets).
As marija doesn't eat animal products, she has lots of recommendations for great veggie and veggie eateries; and as she's a designer, many recommended eateries are pretty classy too! A raw food vegan place just around the corner was fab.
Uzupis (well worth a trip, great bar there called spunka which serves only local beers, some really tasty ones too) is about 20 mins walk. All told, I'd definitely recommended this place to anyone thinking about visiting Vilnius.
My name is Ruslan. I'm from St. Petersburg. I would like to thank Alexander and Mary for the room. It is 100% corresponds to the description. The hosts are very welcoming and interesting people. The house has several rooms and each deserves separate attention. Home decor and imbued history, I consider every detail. The house is 100 meters from the main street and a 10-minute walk to the central square.
I simply loved staying at Alexandra and Marija's house! It is a beautiful, intriguing place, full of history and character. I loved the huge staircase full of paintings and books, and the warmth and simplicity of my room. Alexandra and Marija are unusual and interesting people and I felt privileged to have met them. The house is very central, on he bus route to the airport and a short walk to the historic centre of this beautiful and elegant city.
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Alexandra and Marija are from a well-know family of artists and the house is what you would expect for a fascinating, creative family. Sketches, artworks, original furniture, very high ceilings and a place with a soul. Plus the most extensive tea-collection you could possibly imagine! Despite being zero outside the room was warm and water hot! The animals are very friendly and I came and went easily. Great location just off them main avenue. Would defn stay again
You could tell straight away entering Alexandra and Marijas' house that they have a sure feeling for antiques, art and design. There are many particular details, it is just fun to look around and of course to stay there. Marija has been very welcoming, as has been her dog. We only met Alexandra briefly, but she was very nice and explained us how to prepare original style turkish coffee. Also Marija invited us for dinner with her friends, which we enjoyed a lot, because of the food and the quite inspiring discussion. I recommend trying to live here if visiting Vilnius!
