About This Listing
This is an opportunity for you to taste delicious gourmet raw food meals prepared by a raw food chef ... ME! If you like, you can learn how to prepare the meals yourself.
Conveniently located only 3 miles from downtown Asheville, this chic, artsy bedroom can accommodate 1 or 2 visitors. Although you will need a car (or take the bus) to get to most places, everything is located within a short drive from the house, Comfortable twin size beds (with all the trimmings) await you. House is light, bright and sunny, especially your room with its south-facing windows. There are hardwood floors, a washer & dryer, cable TV, DVD player, and wireless internet. You have full access to the kitchen (and entire house) to cook your non-meat vegetarian meals. Nothing is fancy, but all of your basic needs will be met in a friendly, caring manner.
Greetings, my name is Rosemary, and I am a teacher of natural healing who believes that there are no “incurable” illnesses. I spent 11 years confined to a wheelchair. Doctors told me I would never walk or talk again. You can read about my remarkable recovery from Multiple Sclerosis, as I have written a few books on the subject. Eating raw foods was one of the things that helped me, and I can provide you with raw food and instructions at daily, weekly, or monthly rates.
Experience an in-town retreat eating delicious, organic, gourmet raw food meals freshly prepared by a raw food chef... ME! This includes lodging, all meals, and raw food preparation lessons. You can purchase a copy of my new book, "Raw Food Preparation, Recipes for Beginners."
This is a modest, basic laid-back private home, not a swanky fully-staffed spa. I instruct you a one-on-one basis. You learn by leisurely assisting me with our rawfood meal preparation when possible, and through casual instruction.
Did you notice the beautiful original artwork hanging on the walls? The art was created by my famous New York artist friend, Carole Antun, local to Asheville. You can order prints of her work, and I will ship them to your home if you like.
Asheville has much to offer, so it's no wonder that our president, other dignitaries and celebrities vacation. here often. This cozy home is located in the heart of it all. It takes less than ten minutes to drive downtown to hear (or join in with) drummers at the drumming circle. Less than five minutes drive to trendy Haywood Rd. with its great restaurants, bars, local beer breweries, theaters and music. Ten minutes to the River Arts District, where local artist will dazzle and seduce you with their creativity. The bus stops nearby, and you can walk 1 block to the park and swimming pool. This is a very old and safe neighborhood.
Did you know that Asheville is ranked the number 3 city in the WORLD for the happiness of the people living here? The top 2 cities are not in the U.S. We will smile at you, speak to you, help you, and even wait patiently if you dart out in front of us in traffic. We love it here, and so will you!
In Asheville, buying local is "in". In fact, we say "local is the new black." We are into permaculture, vermaculture, sustainability, simplicity, healthy living, creativity and self-expression. We work hard to "Keep Asheville Wierd."
Smoking must be done outdoors, but there is a shaded outdoor sitting area. Sorry, but no pets are allowed, (its a healing thing). The bathroom is shared, but on the bright side, there is plenty of well-lighted off-street parking. : )
Because I believe that music, dancing and having fun is a vital part of healing, I host a lively jam session here on every second Sunday of the month during nice weather. If your stay includes a second Sunday afternoon, you might be lucky enough to sample some of Asheville's greatest musicians. (And, boy, do they taste good!) You are invited to bring your instrument and join the fun, or just come listen. Maybe you will dance with me.
Although not overly noisy, this house is located within the city limits of Asheville. So, you may hear some occasional and typical noises of city life.
Add $50 to the room rate for a second person.
'Hope to see you soon!
Guest will have access to the entire house.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as much, or as little as they desire.
My neighborhood is great! It is safe, quiet and walkable. There is a park and swimming pool located 1-1/2 blocks away. Although I'm located on the bus line, there are many businesses, stores, cafes and shops within walking distance (including the largest Goodwill store most people have ever seen).
Yes, the bus stop is less than a block from my front door, and of course taxi-cabs are always a phone call away.
Other Things to Note
You'll be glad you came!
Outdoor smoking only.
Staying with Rosemary is a delightful experience. Her home is warm and comfortable and clean. Mine was a weekend Raw Food Retreat and due to bad wintry weather I arrived late. To compensate for the very cold weather Rosemary had raw dishes that were warmed by spices. When they turned out to be strong for my tastes (me being new to raw meals) she had a remedy to "turn down the heat" for me and the following meals were a real treat. What more can you ask. I look forward to a return visit.
I was very lucky to have found Rosemary Fletcher! I stayed with her for a month, and she really made me feel like I was at a home away from home. She was very respectful of my privacy, and at the same time so generous and helpful. Her raw food preperation was delicious and she always made sure there was food available, regardless of my crazy schedule. Just a short drive from down town, I was able to get around Asheville with ease. Thank you Rosemary! You will be missed xoxo
Rosemary is one of the warmest and most hospitable folks I've met in a long time. She even reached out to us before we arrived. Although our stay was brief and didn't include the raw food retreat, we did try her breakfast shake, and ended up getting her cookbook. The room itself is simple (two twin beds and a dresser), as it's pictured, which met our needs just fine.
I stayed with Rosemary when I stayed in Asheville for one night. The space was beautiful. The room was simple and clean. The entire house has such great energy. Rosemary was such a sweet and accommodating host. I got really lost on my way there and she was so kind to walk me thru directions every time I called. I will for sure be back to stay with her again.

About the Host, Rosemary
I am a writer and public speaker. I write about health and natural healing. I have an obsession with it, and love to teach it to others without being dogmatic or preachy about it.
Physically - I'm still a beautiful teenager on the inside ... 50-ish on the outside. I like swimming, working jigsaw puzzles and shooting pool. I love to hear live music and dance! That's why I host a jam session in my back yard on weekends. What fun that is! Asheville has some AMAZING musicians!
Spiritually - I am a light, mystical, and peaceful soul. I meditate daily, and seek spiritual growth. My spirit soars in these beautiful mountains. I love it here in AWESOME ASHEVILLE!
Mentally - I am sound. I like to surround myself with good friends and laugh a lot. I attend and give parties often. I love nature, and gardening helps me keep my feet on the ground ... literally.
Emotionally - I am loving and giving, a nurturer by nature. I am known to anticipate the needs of others before they know for themselves. That's why I make a great host!
