The Space

*Note - we now have A/C!* - Please get in touch if you are interested or have questions!

Our 2 bedroom 1 bath house is located in the artsy Mt. Washington neighborhood of LA. We love our bright airy peaceful space! The house is bright and open--with great outdoor space and an incredible view. We're located on a dead end street up in the hills of Mt. Washington, it's extremely private and the perfect tranquil LA getaway. We're only 15 minutes from Silverlake, Echo Park, Pasadena and downtown, 5 mins to Highland Park and Eagle Rock.

Amenities include: hardwood floors, high ceilings, a bright open living room, HD cable, wireless internet, heat, AC, kitchen, laundry, room darkening shades in bedrooms, and a patio with chairs and a gas grill. Very clean, no pets.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, and the second bedroom has a comfortable full size bed. Both beds have crisp, clean white sheets and towels.

A parking spot is included on the street, and the metro train is less than a mile away, which can take you (website hidden). Washington is a great place to explore--just walking around the mountain you'll find beautiful canyons and 360 views of Los Angeles. We're very close to Highland Park, which has everything you would need--a wonderful local cafe, Cafe De Leche, a bar/gastropub The York, along with many other wonderful restaurants and bars. We're also in the vicinity of Eagle Rock. We (email hidden) to the neighborhood(s) to our guests.

Our place is very peaceful and quiet. The neighbors and neighborhood are quiet and we prefer to rent to people who are looking for a peaceful, quiet place to relax and use as a homebase while exploring the city.

We prefer to rent to 1 or 2 people, and the max is 4. Although our place is kid friendly (the second bedroom is a kid-friendly bedroom, we generally prefer to rent to adults. Older kids or teens with adults are fine.

Get in touch if you're interested, and let me know what your situation is!

Please note: The house is on a hill and is accessible only by a flight of stairs (22 steps down).

  • The house was simply perfect for our needs. We had two couples who knew each other well share this space with zero problems. The beds were really comfy and the layout ideal of us, but the views really stole the show.....gorgeous view!

  • We had a lovely stay at Hannah's home! It's a very cute and very clean house with killer views. As Hannah points out, it is best for 2 (or 3 if you're very close) guests. The bathroom connects the 2 bedrooms, so mornings and pre-bedtimes were a challenge to the four of us (we were a pair of couples).
Overall, it's a wonderful space and a great place to get away from the grit and grime of city life while staring down at it from a safe distance :)
Thanks for having us over, Hannah!

  • This is such a charming and tranquil house. We had a wonderful 3 days here and were mesmerized by the views the whole time. Chris and Hannah's personality comes through so much in the decor of the home that we felt like we had known them for years. We were even able to watch the International Space Station go overhead one night as we had wine and cheese out on the patio!

The communication with Hannah was exceptional even though we made the reservation at the last minute... and she was so accommodating and flexible to our schedule. A perfect weekend, a perfect house and perfect hosts... we cannot wait to return!

  • We had a perfect stay! Hannah and Chris are wonderful people that always responded very quickly to any questions we had and were very helpful and generous hosts! Their cozy house has the most wonderful view with great interior taste. When we got their the house was perfectly clean and Hannah has given us a lot of helpful information about the house and the area. We felt at home right away and the house had more than enough space for three people (we stayed together with our 2 year old daughter). Thanks again for a very pleasant stay!

  • Hannah and Chris' place was clean and stylish and of course, had a lovely view of the city. It's nestled up in a part of LA that would probably surprise most out-of-towners with its narrow, windy streets with lots of foliage. Hannah was quickly responsive when we had a problem with the gas for the house, and we sorted things out. Something about the septic system does lend a slightly unfortunate smell to the house if the bathroom door is left open, but all in all a great experience and we'd do it again.

  • Outside: Great view, nice house, close to downtown LA, Glendale, Hollywood & freeways.
Inside: cozy, neat, comfortable, all house appliances & facilities.

Feeling & Comfort: Great place to stay if you need to relax. High standard equipment & tools.
Weather: It might get a little too hot inside during the summer though. You must open all windows. no air conditioning.

Hosts: Very helpful, Kind, Open for suggestions, educated and utmost great host!

    Overal experience: good!

I run a music business with my husband Chris, and we split our time between LA and Chicago, which means we always have an open place in one of those cities! Normally we spend the first week of the month in Chicago, at which time we do not rent it. These periods of time are marked as unavailable in our calendar. We are very clean and neat, we don't smoke, and we don't have any pets--we always have an organized/clean spot to rent out for short term stays. We're usually on the go, working wherever we are, and we love what we do. Both homes have home offices and are great places to live, relax OR work from. There is one master bedroom and one simple kids/guest room in both homes. We love finding great restaurants in both LA and Chicago, and sharing our recommendations!
