Comfortable family apartment in a superb location in the heart of Lucca in front of the famous Torre Guinigi. Spacious and comfortable offering all the amenities of a modern holiday home and in the same time giving a breeze of the past and history.
The first thing you will see arriving in Lucca are the town walls, which are very well preserved and still today surround the old town. Lucca is the only town in Italy entirely surrounded by walls; and a jewel of a Tuscan town. Some call Lucca the Pearl of Tuscany.
The massively thick 16th century walls, featuring some of Italy's finest Medieval and Renaissance architecture, superb dining, antique markets, classical and rock music festivals, easy access to stunning nearby villas in the surrounding Garfagnana hills and with endless beaches less than half an hour away - Lucca is one of Tuscany's best-kept secrets.
It is sufficiently off the beaten track to have kept its civilty and reserv. Lucca is a city of merchants and visitors, but the pace of life varies between slow and slower.
This apartment is in superb location in the center of Lucca just in front of Torre Guinigi. Spacious and comfortable offering all the amenities of a modern holiday home, but in the same time giving a breeze of history.

The location is great. Just in front of the famous Torre Guinigi tower. Its worth the effor climbing up to the top, where you can admire the Lucca rooftops and the surrounding area. Lucca is very walkable and the cars are not allowed inside the walls, except for residents. Hire a bike a stroll around is good fun also.
The train station is at 20 min. walk from the apartment. There's an easy connection from Pisa airport either by train or by bus. Bus is more convenient as its non-stop. Whereas by train there's a change of trains in Pisa train station.
Parking for the car is at 10 min. in Parecheggio Mazzini in Via dei Bacchettoni. The cost is € 1 / hr during day time 8am-8pm and € 1 / night 8pm-8am.
Other Things to Note
In order to get to the car park drive in from Porta S. Jacopo and turn left. Alternatively drive in from Porta Elisa and turn right.
To get to the apartment from Parcheggio mazzini take the exit to Via dei Bacchettoni, turn right and then right again. Walk straight to Piazza S. Francesco, walk straight again. Here the street turns a bit to left. Walk about 100 mt and turn left to Via Guinigi and then right to Via S. Andrea and you have arrived.
Please close the external shutters of all the windows, if you leave the flat overnight and if it rains heavily.
We expect the guests to treat the apartment as if it was their own home. Please pay special attention, if you have small children.
The apartment was beautiful and more than lived up to the pictures. It was perfect for a family with young children and the location was ideal for exploring Lucca on foot (and on bicycle!). The welcome was excellent too. Would stay again and wholeheartedly recommend.
Kati’s apartment was an absolute gem to stay in. Kati replied prompty to all of our messages and we were met by Kati’s friend Francesca, who was absolutely lovely - she gave us a very warm welcome and showed us all of the amenities, as well as pointing out places like the supermarket etc on a map of Lucca as well. The apartment was super clean when we turned up - the bathrooms were especially pristine! Our 7-year-old loved staying in the bunk bed, the master bedroom was super comfortable for me and my partner, and there was lots of room for our 1-year-old’s portacot. It was fantastic being in the heart of Lucca, right next to the Guinigi Tower and a short walking distance from the supermarket and restaurants. Thank you Kati (and Francesca) for making our stay in Lucca so comfortable and memorable. We will recommend you to everyone!
We absolutely loved our time in Lucca at this wonderful apartment. Our children really enjoyed their time there too and were happy the day it rained so they could stay "home"!!! All the comforts of home with a wonderful host. We will be coming back again next year!
Our stay in this lovely flat in Lucca was a marvelous experience. Our host was kind and obliging, our communications with her were timely and helpful, and the flat itself was a dream. I can honestly say that we all hope that we have the opportunity to return to this place in Lucca at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Francesca's apartment was a perfect place for our family of 4 to stay and feel like we're residents of Lucca for the week. The flat was impeccable, updated, spotless, and had all the ammenities we can ask for in a home. The 2nd bedroom, with its cute bunk bed was a huge hit with our small children. Best of all, the location couldn't be any better, as we were right across the charming cobblestone street from the Guinigi Tower, a top attraction of Lucca. We were also located right in the middle of town and had access to great restaurants and shops.
Thanks for making our Tuscan vacation so amazing!
The apartment is very nice and spacious, it's equipped with all you need to feel like at home. It's clean, cosy and perfectly located: central and quiet at the same time. The double bed is very comfortable, we slept so well! Kati responded quickly and answered all our questions, Francesca was also very nice to meet us although we arrived in the New Year eve. We really appreciated the bottle of wine, biscuits and milk she prepared for our late arrival. There is a market and supermarket Despar in piazza del Carmine, just one minute walk from the apartment, which is very convenient.
We definitely recommend this apartment to anyone especially traveling with the children like we do.
We had a fab time in Lucca, weather notwithstanding. Francesca's apartment is a true home from home, especially for those of us travelling with children. Francesca stayed up late to welcome us to Lucca, greeted us with milk, wine and biscuits and could not have been more helpful - especially when we then managed to lock ourselves out. Our four year old loved the groovy bedroom with secret steps up to the top bunk, and had great fun playing with someone else's toys. I loved all the books and pictures and general spaciousness and, as a cook, the well-equipped kitchen. Because this apartment is immediately adjacent to one of the tallest buildings in Lucca (Torre Guinigi) it's always easy to find one's way home, and it's also near to a small square with a market, a shop, a bank and a post office. There a nice little non-touristy cafe round the corner (left out the front door, then left again) callled Cafe Boccherini where you can have coffee and fig and walnut tart whilst you listen to the music students saw away at their cellos in the Boccherini Musical Institute - the elderly couple who run this cafe love children (and cats) and will ply your child with sweets. This is possibly the best flat in Lucca for anyone travelling with children but it's also marvellous for its sheer centrality and convenience. I suppose what really makes the difference though is the human touch and Francesca really made our visit special with all her kindnesses. Leave now! Get the next flight to Pisa! Thank you Francesca and Kati (and Tomaso).

The first time I arrived in Rome I felt at home. Now you may ask: How can a little girl from Finnish Lapland and nightless nights feel at home in Rome ?
That was my first Italian Moment along with many others to follow.
Destiny introduced me to real estate business and quality properties both in Rome and elsewhere in Italy together with a large community of foreigners finding themselves in or wanting to visit Italy for work, study, leisure or pleasure. All of us have had and will have our own Italian Moments. I'm helping people from all over the world find their special Italian Moment by finding them holiday accommodation and interesting and fun things to do: whether it is a holiday, a wedding, cultural or gastronomical tour or painting course or anything they might want to do during their stay in this beautiful country.
