We gutted our 1968 Airstream and redid the interior with modern, sleek touches like stainless steel countertops, a cork-lined ceiling, and glass tiles in the indoor 1/2 bathroom. Set in a meadow surrounded by old walnut trees, the Airstream is extremely private and its large front deck is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the neighboring vineyard.

The space
The Airstream is equipped with an outside compostable toilet, shower and sink. Inside, there is a half-bathroom with a small sit-tub and sink. The simple inside kitchen includes a mini-fridge, a sink, coffee-making supplies and a microwave. Outside on the deck, there is a BBQ grill and burner, dining table and chairs and chaise lounges. There is not a strong-reliable wifi connection inside the Airstream, so come looking to unhook from daily life. We are the largest growers of saffron in the USA - farm tours are available!
You can see lots of photos of the farm on our website: peace plenty farm dot com

Location

Kelseyville, California, United States

There are several wineries within a short drive of the farm, a lovely State park just down the road, Mt Konocti volcano with gorgeous hikes within 10-15 drive, and some great dining options in Kelseyville and Lakeport. As well as the lake itself, there is a reservoir that is good for swimming (and blackberry picking in the summer) we can direct you to, and the Blue Lakes, about 25 minutes north that are clean and lovely. Hopland is about a 25-30 minute drive away.

We have a small organic farm on 7+ acres here in Lake County. Simon is an ornithologist, and worked for many years for The Nature Conservancy. I am a former caterer and love to preserve, bake, and farm. We started the farm the summer of 2017 and are excited to be growing organic saffron, among other crops. Check out this great story by Tara Duggan in the SF Chronicle about our farm: "California-grown-saffron-arrives-in-the-Bay-Area"

During your stay
We welcome visits to the farm itself and are happy to arrange that with you in advance.

Simon is an ornithologist and we will be setting up an airbnb "experience" soon for bird watching tours of the farm property. Until then, let us know if that interests you and we can arrange.

If you would like to add some actual farm work to your stay, we are happy to accommodate that as well.

Other things to note
This is a working farm, so there may be agricultural-based activity and noises while you are here. We are mindful not to make noise before 8am and after 9pm. If you really want to sleep till noon, let us know and we can see what we can do!

Please note: If you are trying to book for the months of January - April and the dates are blocked, it is because it is quite cold and wet here during those months and we want to ensure that you have the most enjoyable experience possible. Due to the Airstream having limited indoor space, we have blocked the calendar for the cold months. Message us if you are interested in those dates and we will discuss options with you. Thank you!

The cleaning fee we charge is actually to cover the county’s transient occupancy tax.
