About This Listing
A simple, affordable apartment stay in a great location in D.C. Perfect for single travelers or couples. Please read the description before booking/messaging.
Ground-floor efficiency apartment available in Edgewood D.C.!
This place is perfect for those vacationing or working in D.C. who don't want to pay D.C. prices for a hotel; or someone simply looking for temporary housing. Please contact me and we can talk about what you want in terms of length of time.
The apartment is located steps from the D8 bus to Union Station; a five minute walk away is the G8, which will take you directly to Farragut Square, near the White House. My apartment is also walking distance to many other Metrobus lines and both the Brookland and Rhode Island Ave. Metro stations (equidistant 10-15 min walking); and just down the street from Catholic University and the National Shrine. Carshare locations and a Capital Bikeshare station are only a few blocks down the street.
I want to let travelers know that this is not considered downtown, but is a very friendly, quiet residential neighborhood with excellent transport options for sightseeing. Close to grocery stores, CVS, bars, restaurants and other great shopping options. Beautiful park across the street with benches to hang out and enjoy the greenery.
The apartment has a kitchenette w/ gas range, fridge, microwave, slow cooker, deluxe juicer, full bath w/ tub (yes, that is a Keith Haring-themed bathroom!), queen bed--you have full use of linens, dishes/cookware. There is wifi available in the apartment.
Wifi, kitchen items, separate entrance
Interaction with Guests
As needed--I am very communicative with guests and make sure to answer any questions they may have. Unless I am traveling during your stay, I will be nearby in case anything comes up! I have lived in the D.C. area for most of my life, have a lot of experience hosting travelers and can direct you to lots of fun, interesting and off-the-beaten-path attractions in the area.
I love my neighborhood! I have lived in my place for 3 1/2 years and have great neighbors, and a great space.
It's so easy to get around! There are multiple bus lines, Metro stations, carshare and bikeshare stops so you have a wealth of options to get out and see the city.
Other Things to Note
One off-street parking space can be made available for a small fee. Please allow at least one week's notice if you are requesting to use the parking spot.
Please empty the kitchen trash on your last day here, and leave the bag just outside the back door. Please clean kitchen items immediately after use. I will take care of linens, so don't feel obligated to strip the bedsheets or anything. :)
A.M was very communicative and friendly. Unfortunately the apartment was not as clean as we had hoped.
Alex responded to my last minute request quickly in the heart of cherry blossom and school trip season in DC. Great, clean, and spacious apartment with a lot of charm -- loved the Keith Haring stickers in the bathroom. Bed was super comfy. The neighborhood is convenient if you don't mind the Metro -- 10 minute walk to two stops. The only downside was not being able to spend enough time here!
Alex and her apt were nothing but lovely. There were some unforeseen circumstances that came up during my stay, but Alex was more than accommodating and did everything in her power to make sure I had an enjoyable and comfortable stay including a nice little bottle of wine to unwind with at the end of a busy work trip.
The apartment itself has everything you need and is a convenient location to bars, restaurants and attractions.
Alex was so patient and responsive with all my pestering texts giving me helpful advice with whatever I needed. She also is going out of her way to ship me back my blow dryer that I forgot to pack.
Thank you again!
AM and the place are completely awesome. The place is simple and convenient and AM was very responsive and outgoing in making sure I had what I needed. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and light weight stay in DC.
Am was a fantastic host! She was very flexible and understanding when we were running late for check-in due to traffic. Am was easily available throughout our stay and willing to offer advice on navigating DC. This apartment is well equipped and very reasonably priced for DC.
First, a huge thank you to Alex. We had another location booked in DC but an apartment flood required a last minute alternate plan. Alex came through. In addition, our flight arrived at Regan late in night, so, by taxi, we didn’t arrive ‘till close to midnight. There was Alex waiting for us. Then, to top things off, she gave us use of her SmartTrip card. Alex’s place is a bit far out in the NE but once one masters D8 and G8 the journey is a neat adventure. Her place is comfy and fulfilled our needs. Good shower, good bed and a kitchen area with full amenities were appreciated. It’s worth a giggle as to the extra creams, lotions and edibles available in the place. Thanks Alex, good luck with future bookings.
