Perfect for one person, close to transportation, sightseeing, shopping and all and one of the safest areas in Manhattan. Reviewed positively over and over. Sun filled room, quiet and great neighborhood.
This is perfect for the solo traveler . While it is not a large apartment it is big enough by NYC standards. Most important it is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. And you will have your own private room with door and with empty closet space to hang your clothes. The apartment is two flights walk up in one of the safest and bestest areas in NYC. Bathroom is small but quaint, and clean. The place is a 7 minute walk to metro/subway and there is a and express bus across the street. The open eat in kitchen is the only common space where you can cook in or store food in the fridge. Breakfast is not provided but you can make your own. Also plenty of affordable eateries around here. The bed is comfortable and the entire place gets bright sunshine throughout the day. The building has an old NYC charm which is becoming extinct.
You will enjoy your stay here because you are in the heart of it all, walk to Union Square, East Village, and Empire State Building which can be seen at Madison Square Park- a 7 minute walk; you are not far from parks and you can stay in the area if you want to have a bite to eat such as Eataly, the largest artisanal Italian food and wine marketplace in the world. Heaps of restaurants nearby. Lower East side is a 7 minute walk. Police station nearby. Walk to East Village, Lower East Side, SOHO, West Village, Empire State Building, Grand Central, Penn Station, Rockefeller center, Times Square, Union Square and much more. Affordable restaurants nearby and close to public transportation (buses and subway. There is AC in the room (summer) and WIFI.
I am a laid back female in the arts, quiet and into meditation. The only person living here. This is a nicotine/alcohol & drug - free environment - no smoking - no pets allowed. Not for the partying type. The airports in NYC are very close 1/2 hour to one hour away depending on the airport.

Best neighborhood in NYC.
Easy to get around close to buses and trains.
Nice place, nice neighborhood and great host. You will enjoy Maria's place.
Maria was friendly and I am thankful for her flexibility with my check-in and check-out times. The cozy room did indeed get nice sunlight! Location was great. Overall a lovely stay.
Maria is wonderful, pleasant, and very kind. What more can I say?
Maria is prompt at email; flexible about checking in/out; and generous with tea, chats, and other forms of kindness. Very positive experience.
Had a very nice stay. The room and apartment are small but sufficient, and a great value for the price. Maria was a terrific host. I will likely stay there again if I can find an opening in the calendar.
As a participant in an NYU Alzheimer's Study, I spent 3 nights at Maria's. It was very easy to walk from Grand Central Station to the apartment, and I was greeted warmly when I arrived and made to feel right at home. The apartment was perfect for me, clean, bright, warm, quiet, and my room had plenty of space to hang clothes and live out my suitcase. My bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby. The Gramercy Park area is appealing: quiet, close to the East River Walkway, many nice restaurants that Maria helped me find, and an easy and interesting walk in every direction. Since I live alone, and this was my first time using Air B&B, I was a little apprehensive about sharing someone's small space, but I have only positive comments about my stay with Maria and the concept of Air B&B. I would definitely go back again. I love the red toilet seat!
I had a great experience for my first airbnb stay w Maria. She was very pleasant, flexible for obtaining keys and the room was very cozy. Bed very comfortable and quiet! I had a great night sleep and was able to do some work while there at the desk in my room. I would definately return!
Traveling alone? Never been to NY before? Go stay at Maria's place. It was easy to find (with her direction), it gives you easy access to public transport and a lot of points of interest can be reached by walking. It is clean even or precisely because it's tiny and it's very cosy. Maria was extremly helpfull and easy going. I very much liked our little chat over a cup of tea at my arrivel.
Maria is a great host, always very friendly and gave me great tips on how to get around manhattan and about places to go. The place is very cozy, cleansed the location is very convenient. It was a great first experience using airbnb.
Maria was super easy to work with, friendly and accomodating. Next time I need a place to stay in NYC I will definitely inquire as to her availability!
