We have gathered ways of welcome throughout our travels near and afar. From Scotland’s Open Access Codes to Costa Rica’s Pura Vida, others have taught us what it means to invite folks in—to rest, to play, to themselves. Coast Salish peoples native to the Plateau have said that people come to Enumclaw to die or to be healed. On this land, folks come to life, step into their best selves. There is welcome. There is rest. There is joy.
