Glamping at it's finest! Located around 25 minutes from the Ark Encounter, our Gopher Wood Getaway cabin offers a rustic and picturesque place for families to stay near the Ark or a place for personal spiritual retreat. Enjoy 500 sq ft of living space that includes a fully equipped kitchen, a bunk room and bathroom with standing shower and toilet, heating, AC and electric over looking 85 acres of Kentucky Bluegrass. No TV or Wi-Fi.

The space
The Gopher Wood Getaway offers families, couples or individuals a rustic and picturesque get away. No Wi-Fi or TV available. Enjoy peace and quiet and get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Sit on the front porch and watch for deer. Play some games with the kids. Read the book you've been wanting to pick up. Pray. Praise. Relax.
There is a small refrigerator and a fully equipped kitchen. Check our out Guide Book for information on local groceries and shopping.

Our cabin is for families. We will allow up to 10 on the reservation and we do ask that this would be mom, dad and the kids (for example). No groups over 6 please unless it is a nuclear family. The cabin sleeps 6. There are 4 twin size bunks in the bunk room and a euro futon that folds into a full size bed. If you have more than 6 needing accommodations, you are welcome to pitch a tent in the yard. Your reservation covers towels for everyone on it, and bedding for the 5 beds in the cabin. You will need to bring your own bedding for any more than 6. A tent available for $20 extra fee for your stay. Please let us know when making your reservation and we will add that to your fee. We also ask for $5 a night per extra guest over 6 on the reservation to help cover the extra utilities and usage of the cabin.

The bathroom features a toilet, sink and standing shower.

Fire pit available (wood available for $5 a night suggested donation. Just leave the money in the jar if you can. Donating helps us keep our rates lower).

Outdoor grill coming soon!

Unfortunately we are not handicap accessible at this time.

HOUSE RULES:
There is no wi-fi or TV provided in the cabin. We do have some games, art supplies and toys for our families to use during their stay.

No pets allowed. Anyone bringing a pet will be charged an extra $150 cleaning fee. (The cabin owner can not accommodate pets due to medical conditions).

No alcohol on the Siloam Valley campus. Guests will be subject to a $100 extra cleaning fee of abusive alcohol is discovered.

6 guests are included in your reservation. Any more than 6 we require a $5 a night per person fee. We can accommodate up to 10 guests. But we do ask that this includes nuclear families (and not large groups). i.e. Mom dad and the kids

No parties or events allowed.

You must follow all check-out rules before you leave. A detailed listing of how to remove bedding and towels will be provided as well as the expected state in which to leave the cabin and the yard before you leave.

We are truly a rural get away designed to be a spiritual retreat for couples and families.

If you encounter a problem during your stay, please make the property manager aware within 1-2 hours of your problem so we can take action immediately. Refunds for events happening out of our control that we are not made aware of in a timely manner will not be issued. In the rare event that there is a problem during your stay, our team will do everything we can to make it better for you.

***********
- We encourage you to hike and explore the property. Siloam Valley has 85 acres of rolling Bluegrass. It's a beautiful place to explore and hike. Please respect the wildlife. Leave things as you found them. If you find any bodies of water, absolutely NO swimming, fishing or boating. We also ask that no one under the age of 16 explores without a parent, guardian or trusted adult.

- Siloam Valley has quiet hours from 10pm to 7 am.

- The farm owners live in the house adjacent to the cabin. If you need anything during your stay, please ask.

- Fire Pit Rules - Please be sure to extinguish all fires safely. Firewood is provided. We ask for a $5 a night donation. Just leave the money in the jar if you can.

- Help yourself to anything around the cabin. Chairs, tables, etc... Do not use the folding chairs outside. They are for inside the cabin. There are plenty of camping chairs in the deck box on the porch. Feel free to make yourself at home. We simply ask that you leave things as you found them when you are finished.

- Please place all trash in the provided receptacles. We do not have trash pick up on this rural road. If you should need trash removed from the cabin during your stay, please let the property manager know.
- Follow these check out procedures before your 12:00pm check out on the last day of your stay.

Guest access
Guests may freely use the cabin, yard, outdoor space and any area within view of the cabin for hiking or exploring. Please stay on our side of the road as the property owners own the 85 acres adjacent to the cabin side of the road.

Other things to note
Our cabin comfortably sleeps 6. If your family is larger than 6, we ask for a small extra guest fee to cover the added number and possible outdoor usage. Feel free to bring a tent for the yard for extra guests, however please reserve the total number of guests when making your reservation. We ask this so your stay can be completely insured by AirBnB and so we can provide enough towels for your stay.

Our cabin is clean and comfortable with all modern amenities (hot water, electric, heat and air conditioning). However, it is placed on an 85 acre farm in the middle of Kentucky. When the hay is cut or when environmental factors beyond our control happen, it is normal for critters to make their way close to the cabin. If you encounter any issues with the local wildlife during your stay, PLEASE let the cabin manager know immediately. We will NOT issue refunds for critter problems in a cabin in the middle of a farm unless action has been taken by both the guest and the host in a timely manner to resolve the issue and things could not be resolved from us.

I manage the property for our family farm, Siloam Valley. Our family has long used the farm as a place of spiritual retreat, discipleship and renewal. In 2019 we added the Gopher Wood Getaway cabin specifically as a haven and getaway for families visiting the Ark Encounter. It's a great place to stay if you want a quiet and unplugged getaway for your trip. We look forward to hosting you and making your stay as fabulous as possible.
