Up on the hill above Collingwood, down a driveway behind our house is our sunny, newly redecorated, one-bedroomed sleep-out attached to our large shed. It is a simple, quiet and comfortable place with 36m2 of your very own space in which to relax and refresh from the many exciting adventures our rich environment has to offer.

The space
There is a light, airy lounge with wifi and freeview tv, a spacious bathroom and separate queen-sized bedroom. Tea and coffee-making facilities, toaster and microwave are provided, along with crockery and cutlery and a full-sized fridge/freezer. The window above the dining table gives a view of the mountains and estuary and the slider door off the deck affords easy access from where you can park your car.

Where you’ll be

Collingwood, Tasman, New Zealand

Once you are relaxed and refreshed it is a short walk or drive down the hill to Collingwood, where the Courthouse Cafe serves great coffee and delicious food. For the more adventurous Ngang's MAD cafe has a range of alternative food. And then there is Tinky's Tavern, with a garden bar, restaurant and takeaways and views of the mountains, especially at sunset. Zatori has an amazing outlook over the estuary and village, and serves drinks and food from 5pm most days. Collingwood also has 24 hour fuel, a well-stocked general store, museums of our gold-rich history and it is the base for the world-renowned Farewell Spit Eco-tours. Within easy reach by car are a wide range of beach and bush walks, with the Heaphy Track and Abel Tasman National Park not too far away. The area is rich in talented artists whose galleries welcome visitors. And there is our abundant bird life to observe.

My husband Larry and I love living in Golden Bay. We have a sunny self-contained separate sleep-out behind our house in Collingwood and would like to welcome visitors to share our very special place.
