Interaction with Guests
That is up to the guests! We enjoy spending time with them, but respect their privacy.
Sorry, no pets.
We live in a quiet, safe neighbourhood, yet close to downtown. Giant's Head Mountain Park is right next to the house. What we love best: Sit in the garden and watch the moon rise over the mountain, magic!
Unfortunately there is no public transport. You can walk to downtown, otherwise you need a car.
No smoking in the house, please.
I am pretty flexible about most things. Communication is the key.
Staying with Meggie and Gerd is like staying with family. There is an immediate sense of comfort and welcome and they even make breakfast to order in the morning! The place is immaculate and cozy, in a lovely residential neighbourhood with a hiking trail right outside their door. There is a lounge room for guests with a bar fridge to keep perishables, and a beautiful back yard and patio to enjoy at your leisure. Lovely, comfy bed and minutes to great wineries and the beach. Perfect stay, thank you.
We had a perfect time, the house is in a nice location with a beautiful garden, but the best from the house are there hosts, lovely family and really kind, they helped us a lot with our arrival in Summerland, by the way is a wonderful place. Really nice and full breakfast!
It was our first airbnb experience and it was an amazing one.
The owners of the house are really, really kind. They gave as a tour of the house when we arrived. The house is on a gorgeous location with a perfect view of the river. The house is very large. The rooms are beautifull and well equipped. The beds were very good to sleep on.
We really liked the garden where a lot of birds can be spotted!
The breakfast was one of the best we had in Canada. Maybe that was because it was a little bit European :-)
We would definitely go there again if we happen to be near the okanagan valley. I can recommend this place to anyone!

About the Host, Mechthild
I have been living in the sunny Okanagan Valley for 8 years. My languages are English, German, French and Spanish. I am a Certified Summerland Ambassador and full of ideas and suggestions of where to go and what to do. In my spare time I love to read (we have a small "take-a-book-leave-a-book" library) or do cross-stitch. So relaxing, guests can see some of the results. Good hospitality is very important for us and my family and I try to make every guest feel at home.
