It's a cozy, true to island life village where traditional umu kukas (outdoor ovens) are used to prepare elaborate Sunday meals (to'ona'i) and the delicious odor fills the morning air. Local villagers stroll down the road often in traditional island style clothing and wave and smile as they pass. The abundant foliage of the tropical fruit trees provides a verdant backdrop to the homes and means fruit is readily available for everyone.
