Charme with view in the city center

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Via Pietrapiana, 24-black, Florence, Tuscany 50121, Italy

The Space

The house is situated in S. Croce- S.Ambrogio area. A beautiful neighbourhood from where you can reach in 5 min walking, all the florentine monuments: Dome , S. Croce, Sinagogue, Cappelle Medicee, Piazza della Signoria. In front of the house there is the characteristic Flea Market of “Piazza Dei Ciompi”, and the Loggia del Pesce.
The area is populated by real florentine people, and you’ll find daily fresh food in the S.Ambrogio Market, good restaurant and cafè, playground for children, shops and supermarket.
Despite the dynamic life of the surrounding area, the apartment is quite and peaceful,
it has been newly refurbished, its design is original and contemporary.
The apartment is at the 4th floor with no lift, about 60steps to get up.
There is a sunny living room, with a sofa bed very confortable with a huge materass in memory-foam.
From the living you can see Piazzale Michelangelo and S. Croce and the evening of June 24th, you’ll watch the amazing fireworks to celebrate the Florence patron saint.
There is also one silente room with a double bedroom and capacious wardrobe.
The over roof watching kitchen is well equipped.
The bathroom is new with shower.
Wifii access is also provided.

  • Francesca's apartment is a great, spacious, and clean place to stay in Florence. The area is definitely lively, especially at night, but we loved being able to open the windows and basically have a free concert (in the form of a singer or a couple of musicians) from the comfort of the apartment. (The bedroom doesn't face the street, so the noise doesn't reach there as much.) The bathroom is spacious and the shower is great, too. The walk upstairs, as people have mentioned, is non-trivial and fairly steep -- we thought it was fine other than lugging our suitcases up and down! Also, a quick note for light sleepers - as someone who tosses and turns a lot, I found the bed to be fairly creaky and we accidentally woke one another up a few times from the noises the bed made.

Francesca made our check-in very easy, especially considering that she was our of town and that we did not have a phone. She also left a great list of recommended eateries and detailed instructions for getting settled in the apartment. We had such a great time in Florence - thank you, Francesca!

  • My husband and I stayed at Francesca's apartment for 4 nights and it was nothing short of wonderful. We loved having a living room that looked over a beautiful residential area of Florence but within walking distance to everything! We cooked one night in the fully functioning kitchen and could hear street performers below felt like having a concert at our own private dinner. Would return again in a heartbeat!

  • This place is perfect if you want a centrally located, well-appointed base from which to explore the city. Francesca was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating.

Me and my friend stayed for 6 nights and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals from the local market (which is 2 blocks away!), but if you want to spend your money in restaurants there are some FANTASTIC places within a 5 minute walk. I HIGHLY recommend Cafe Cibreo for coffee, Cibreo Trattoria for a wonderful, low-cost meal, and Semel for the best paninis you've ever head.

Can't say enough nice things about this apartment and its location!

  • My partner and I stayed in Francesa's apartment for a month during September 2012. The apartment was perfectly located, only a 7 minute walk to the Duomo and the famous Uffizi Galleria. The apartment is fully stocked with everything required and although there are plenty of lovely restaurants close by we ate in a couple of times with no problems. There is both a supermarket and a fresh food market within walking distance.
Yes the apartment is on the 4th floor but this gives you a lovely view of the church Santa Croce and the bustling street life below. Sometimes it was a little noisy at night time (if windows were open) but this only added to the amusement of Italians singing, laughing and talking!!

Additionally (and important for me) we felt very safe on the 4th floor and had no qualms about leaving the windows open for fresh air.

Francesca met us on our first day and contacted us multiple times throughout our long stay to ensure everything was up to standard. Overall an excellent apartment.

  • Francesca's apartment, a 4th floor walk up, 1.6 kms from Firenze S.M. Novella Stazione in the middle of Sta. Croce was a bit of a challenge to get to with my friend Karen and I dragging 2 heavy luggages each - but what a beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view that rewards all that hard work.

Francesca's the consummate host - providing excellent travel tips, restaurant recommendations, and a thoughtfully stocked pantry with basic necessities for coffee, tea, and laundry needs.

Would highly recommend Francesca's apartment to anyone visiting Florence.

  • We had an excellent time at Francesca's apartment. She was very responsive to all our communications prior to arrival, and her lovely mother was there to open up the apartment for us (with Francesca available by phone to answer any questions). The apartment was very clean and well-furnished, with towels and dishware/cookware. There is a Conad supermarket just a few steps down the street (and amazing Sant'Ambrogio market in the other direction - you HAVE to try some of the fruits there) so we were able to buy groceries to cook our own meals. The apt is a walk-up (4th/5th floor), but the amazing views from the living room are more than worth the climb. The street down below is pretty active, and we greatly enjoyed people-watching from the window. We arrived in the city right in the middle of a heat wave, but we kept the kitchen and living room windows open and got an excellent cross-breeze. I would highly recommend this apartment for an authentic Florence experience.

  • My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and we loved it. The location was perfect (very close to the city center and a great variety of shops, restaurants, and markets), the apartment itself was very spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet, and beautiful, and we loved the living room and kitchen views. Francesca was wonderful. After our flights were delayed multiple times, she graciously offered to meet us anytime, and we eventually met her at the apartment at 11:30 pm (5 hours later than we expected). She was organized, kind, responsive, and very accommodating. She also recommended some great places to eat in the area. I highly recommend this apartment and hope to stay again soon.

  • My best airbnb experience yet -- what a find! Francesca's apartment is in the perfect spot in Florence; close enough to all the action without being in tourist central. There was two of us but the place is huge -- it could easily sleep four. The bed and the sofa bed were incredibly comfortable, and there was loads of space to hang up clothes. Gorgeous kitchen, and spacious bathroom. Could not recommend more highly.

  • Francesca's house is very nice and in a comfortable location, 5-10 minutes from the city centre. Francesca is very nice, friendly and flexible. I suggest her and her house as accommodation in Florence. Thanks Francesca!
