We had a delightful time at Steve's Sausalito home. Location can't be beat - just a block or two from the center of things, yet because the living areas are one and two stories above the street, there is never a feeling of busyness. The home is equipped with absolutely everything you need, and everything is in tip-top shape. Steve was even kind enough to put up a few holiday decorations since we were there for Xmas. If we're ever in Sausalito again, we will definitely stay here again if we can.
This is a nice sized and in many ways very comfortable apartment. The kitchen is well-equipped and in good condition and large enough for preparing nice meals. The beds are quite comfortable and the back bedroom is quiet from street noise. The apartment is on the main street in Sausalito and the front bedroom can be noisy in the morning. The location, overall is very convenient to shops and restaurants and the water.
The main issues for me is that the carpet downstairs is very dirty and soiled badly. I feel it needs to be replaced. The sofa is untidy and would benefit from a cleaning. With some attention to repairs this could be a very nice apartment.
What a great location! We traveled with another couple and the location in the center of Sausalito couldn't have been better. Great coffee shop across the street. Great restaurants and shops - Barrel House Tavern is a must go to! Close to San Francisco and Mill Valley - El Paso restaurant another must go to! Pros: Location, layout, view, parking. Cons: Needs a little attention. Coffee pot but no maker, ironing board but no iron, had to use the soap and shampoo that was left over. We did not meet with Steve or anyone to represent him,. While that wasn't a terribly big deal, every other place we have stayed has had someone there to walk us through or offer suggestions for the area. We have been to the area before so already had an agenda.
We would stay here again if we traveled back to Sausalito
This apartment is in a great location. It's central to everything - restaurants, shops, the waterfront. It's also very close to Bar Bocce which we frequented multiple times over our stay for great food and drinks. Would definitely recommend this apartment to others - it's well maintained and had everything we needed. Thanks Steve!
Very Sausalito and very Waterfront! We had a great stay at Steves house that exceeded our expectations in every way. Super centrally situated next to the waterfront and with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants within 5 minuttes walking distance, making the carport really convenient. We had breakfast at the Lighthouse, dined at Le Garage, The Spinaker and Poggio - although the kitchen is superbly equipped. Also the washer/dryer is a super facility. Most important the terrases are great for drying foul weather gear! We will be back!
Exceeded our expectations fom the moment we parked in the carport and it only got better as we looked around the accommodation - OK, we're British, but the space, modcons, ensuites and balconies all impressed. We'd checked with friends so made a stab at Sausalito and even drove along Bridgeway via (website hidden) Street yet we could have expected less - instead we found ourselves ideally placed for the waterfront, access to the ferry, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants around the corner, cycling to the Golden Gate Bridge and to a spot down the road to hire kayaks. We ate out often, trying those recommended by Steve and many others - all were great - memorable, good food, prepared and delivered with heart. With wine from Bacchus & Venus when we ate at friend's. Then easy access to the freeways, into Muir Woods often, to Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Lake Almere and beyond into Nappa and Lake Berryessa - as well as south to Redwood City and Los Altos. And when we ate in we had no trouble finding what we needed to dine well - as if at home. A call to Steve and he popped in and made sure we were fixed up with bikes - just as well as the nearest hire shop catered for specialist racing and mountain bikes at premium rates. Traffic got busy at the werkends but we had the carport so parking was never an issue. We stayed 10 days and wish it had been 20. I genuinely think that had we been anywhere else it could not have worked out so well.
Very nice and comfortable place in an excellent location walking distance from marina, SF Ferry, downtown Saulsileto . Highly recommended!
Really great apartment BUT ... We (three adults and two children) stayed for one week in early July 2013. Pictures are accurate reflection of apartment. It's an excellent location on the waterfront with marina, shops and restaurants close by. Parking under the apartment is very convenient. The amenities in the apartment are excellent and modern - kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and laundry facilities. However it's impossible to get a good night's sleep as there are no curtains AT ALL in the apartment, just light vertical blinds (some of which were broken and missing!) and it is bright throughout the night from street and business lighting . Also the sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable so it's a problem if there are more than four people. The bed clothes supplied were clean but not ironed/pressed. So, in conclusion, this is an excellent apartment but requires a few small but significant changes to make it comfortable for your stay. After a long transatlantic flight it's the small things that make the difference - like getting a comfortable night's sleep. We made Steve (who was very approachable) aware of the curtain and bed issues during our stay so don't know if he's addressed them. In late July however we stayed in Steve's adjacent apartment and the situation with the blinds in the bedrooms was the same.
Great house in every way - location, amenities, parking, everything was top notch. Thanks Steve!
Steve was very accommodating and easy to work with. His waterfront house is lovely. The view is beautiful and the house is in a perfect location for walking to town, restaurants, the ferry, and all that Sausalito has to offer. The house is comfortable, quiet and totally remodeled. The extra half bath on the first floor is a bonus and the gourmet kitchen is very spacious. Thank you Steve for a wonderful stay!
