Hey there! I'd love to share my great apartment on beautiful Bourke St in the heart of Melbourne CBD, just near Spring St and Parliament House. I work full time as a web designer, in and out of the office. If time permits and you would like, I'd happily show you about town - or perhaps we visit one of Melbourne's amazing little wine bars.

Known as the 'Paris-end' of town, we are surrounded by amazing cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. A short stroll from China Town, Melbourne's laneways and with easy access to tourist attractions by walking, trams and trains. There is a tram stop right at the front door and Parliament train station is a minute walk away.

The apartment is a large, 2 bedroom, light filled space with polished wooden floorboards throughout. You will have your own large bedroom with queens size bed, built in robes and city view. Next to your bedroom is a bathroom/laundry which will be almost entirely yours as I have an ensuite. The room accommodates 2 people, 3 at a stretch.

The apartment's greatest feature is a spacious open plan kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped and is complete with all the spices and condiments you could need if you wish to cook during your stay. The living room has all the standards - couch, flat screen TV, WiFi and a great view to the tree filled courtyard. There is also a small balcony with barbecue, table and chairs - perfect for an evening glass of wine.

The apartment is located in a safe and secure building with swipe card and key entry. It is on the first floor with lift or stair access.

  • George's place is great! It is near to everything we need. The tram stop is just outside the main gate. The metro train and free city trams is just 2 minutes' walk away, taking you to every tourist spots within the CBD itself. Almost everything is within walking distance, i.e. theatres, Chinatown, Federation Square, etc. Being right smack at Bourke Street, the shopping street is just down the road. If you like to relax at parks and gardens, the Treasury Garden and Fitzroy Garden are just 10-15 minutes' walk away.

The place itself has everything we need, nice and soft duvet plus all the amenities are included, i.e. unlimited wifi access, nice toiletries (it was Aesop's!), pots and pans plus all the condiments and spices for us to cook up a storm. If you're lazy to cook, there are ample restaurants and cafes just below the apartment. George provided us with a very detailed "manual" on everything we need to know on how to operate certain stuffs in the apartment as well as leaving us with some very good guides to search for food!

George is kind enough to accommodate our travel date changes. He left his keys with his friend Steve as he was out of town for most of the 11 days 10 nights we rented the apartment. So, basically we had the whole apartment to ourselves for most of the days. We only finally met George on our final couple of days of our stay.

All in all we had a very nice experience staying at George's place and will stay there again whenever we visit Melbourne again!

  • We had a great time at George's place - it's a beautiful flat in the center of everything and, best of all, George and his friends provided excellent recommendations for restaurants, pubs and other city activity. Thanks George!

About
Hi there! I am looking forward to welcoming you to the amazing city of Melbourne! I am at the ripe age of 33 and have been living and working in Melbourne for about 10 years as a web developer / design. My key work and personal interests revolve around digital media and the web, with a keen interest in social enterprise and the power of the web to spread the love of communication to those in need. :) I am super keen on music, design, arts, meditation, a touch of political banter and eating and drinking... etc. I am a fond traveller and have travelled extensively around Australia and parts of Asia, Africa and Europe. Since moving to Melbourne in 2003 I have always felt it is one of the greatest cities to live and have gravitated back after some time spent away. I was brought up in Darwin, NT living there for 13 years and then spending the next 7 years living in Brisbane. I also headed West and lived in Fremantle, WA for a little time. Undoubtedly the restaurant / bar / art and cultural aspects are amongst the finest reasons for being in Melbourne. I am generally more than happy to help guide / advise on the surrounds of Melbs, and potentially join for a wine - although I am often very busy with work and / or socialising. I currently work 50/50 from home/work. Cheers / George.
