Ernesto and Michele were amazing to deal with during our stay. Very helpful and attentive.
Unfortunately the same can no be said for the apartment. The location is great, however that is where the positives end. The kitchen and utensils were over used/not appropriately cleaned.
The fridge was not working due to the frozen over freezer, which after I defrosted and cleaned, gave me an electric shock.
My mother also received an electric shock when the dishwasher was on and she was at the sink.
We complained to Ernesto and Michele after the first night and they were incredibly accommodating and understanding and moved us to a different apartment to make us feel more comfortable.
I would suggest with a little updating and money spent rewiring the apartment, this would be an ideal place to stay in Sorrento, which really is beautiful. I can only praise Ernesto and Michele as agents, however would suggest booking another one of their properties over this apartment.
We stayed for 5 nights in Casa Lauro. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town, close to bars and restaurants and the supermarket is just across the road. We stayed in the double room at the back and the balcony from the room was beautiful with lovely views over the bay. The street noise from the balcony at the front of the apartment was quite loud at the night time but this could not be heard from the double bedroom. The apartment was huge for two people and quite comfortable. The only issues really were the slightly grotty bathroom/shower and the kitchen. A lot of the glasses and utensils did not look very clean and while I did not cook any meals as such during our stay, the pots and pans looked very.....used. There were no cleaning supplies provided to clean areas in the kitchen, such as a sponge/cloth, washing-up fluid, a clean tea-towel etc..
Altogether we had a lovely trip and I would stay at this apartment again.
Erntesto was waiting for us at the Piazza, and was very nice and helpful. The flat is very well located, close a amenities and has a very good size. Yet, it is by a very busy and noisy street, which affects those sleeping in the small bedroom. We encountered some problems at the beginning, the flat was not clean and it was poorly equiped: broken sockets, broken radio, broken lamp, cooking utensils very old and dirty, old bathroom, etc. We asked them to clean the flat again and Daniele gave an inmediate response, sending a cleaner right away, also solving partially the socket issue. (it was extremely hot in Sorrento, and the fans couldn't work without the right adaptors).
Overall, the flat is very well-located. The train and bus station is a block away connecting to other towns of the amalfi coast, supermarket just across the street. we also enjoyed the terrace a lot and the sea view from the main bedroom. Just need to be a bit more considerate with the needs of the visitors.
We recently stayed in Lauro Apartment in Sorrento in May 2012.
The position of this apartment right in the main street is superb. Daniele Davide met us at the train station and we just walked across to the apartment.
The view from our bedroom window was wonderful, across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Daniele was a lovely man, polite, helpful and informative and when I requested two extra towels he promptly returned with them.
The apartment is quite large and suitable for a family, on this occasion only myself and my husband were there so loads of room to move around and relax after a big day out.
If I could make a suggestion regarding the shower curtain in the bathroom, this needs to be replaced regularly or a fixed piece of glass added to the bath to stop water splashing. The shower curtain was not to my standard of cleanliness. I also believe that the kitchen should be provided with a tea towel and some dishwashing detergent and a clean wash up cloth. I understand that when you rent an apartment you provide all your needs apart from linen which is supplied, so a tea towel should be included and a clean, unused dish cloth for incoming guests.
Additionally clearer directions on where to place the garbage. The garage area was totally clean and we were told to put garbage down there which we did not, so we bagged it correctly and left it for the cleaner to dispose of.
To summarise apart form the issues mentioned above this is a wonderful apartment in the best part of Sorrento and the main bedroom being situated at the back of the apartment meant a good night's sleep as it was extremely quiet for the middle of town.
A big thank you to Daniele for his lovely manner and we would definitely stay in this apartment again. Sorrento is just gorgeous.

The appartement has a great location in Sorrento....right in front of a supermarket in 5 minutes walk to the train station on one side and 5 minutes walk to Tasso square on the other side. The only problem was that the appartement was not very clean when we got it and the maid had to return.....After a second clean-up by the same maid,it was not much better....very dusty!!!!Problem resolution....find another maid.
A spacious apt in the middle of town in sorrento, very convenient, within a 5 minute walk from train station. Super market Is just down the street We were met at the dock by a representative who was helpful getting us situated. The apt has all the amenity a traveler would need. I would stay here again.
The apartment in Sorrento was fantastic. It was centrally located and easy access to restaurants, shopping, coffee shops, bus lines, ATM's, and the ferry. I loved the location. The apartment is very European, slow water flow in the showers, hot and cold showers, minimal bedding. That aside if you have ever vacationed in Europe you know and understand that. I did not care, I was so happy to be in that location it did not matter. Ciao, Gina
