Interaction with Guests
I welcome guests from all over the world into my home/B&B and enjoy interacting with them as our flow allows. I respect your privacy, yet am are always available for questions/concerns. Helping with ideas and places to explore on Maui.
My neighborhood is central Haiku Town. A historic plantation town. My home is an authenic plantation house, built in 1919 and was occupied by the plantation manager and family. His office was also run out of the house. It has since been fully restored. The center of town is a 3-4 minute walk where you can choose from many eateries and a local market is available to you.
There is a public bus in the center of town but it does not go around the entire island. It comes on an hourly schedule throughout the day. It will take you to the airport, but you can only board it with a carry on and small back pack. A rental car will ensure you full access to the island.
Nonsmoking/drug free house. Children over 3 years of age welcome. Please no strong perfumes or colognes. Please make yourself at home and feel free to communicate your needs.
WOW! We had never been to Maui and this was our first airbnb experience. First of all Bonnie was great even months before our arrival. She was very easy to communicate with electronically and by phone. We had lots of questions. We were truly blessed to have stayed with Bonnie. First of all the location is great! Close to airport and centrally located on the island so we could go visit and hike the dormant volcano at Haleakala National Park, drive the Hanna Hwy and end up hiking the Pipiwai trail to the most magnificent water falls, go to Kihei and went Rafting and snorkeling , and went to Kaanapali and one does not have to drive all across the island from Bonnies place. But! The best part is that Bonnie takes you in as friends that have known each other for years. She basically lets you live in her house. We cooked some meals in her kitchen, we dined with her at her dining room table. She taught us how to prepare bread fruit for intance. We talked about Maui and she gave us information we would not have known. We learned about stuff beyond just Maui. Her house is not on the beaten tourist path which was exactly what we wanted. When we visited Kaanapali it was fun but very resorty and touristy and it felt great to be able to get away from it. Then another surprise.... Bonnie graciously offered and did our laundry! Amazing! Anyway, we loved staying at Bonnies we look forward to staying at her place in the future. Blessings to Bonnie and to you all!
Bonnie was a knowledgeable host who was extremely attentive to details. Her home and property -including our accommodations- were beautiful and well kept. There were special touches everywhere, reflecting her travels and experiences. The sights and sounds of nature surrounded us, and a fresh breeze could often be felt through all of the open windows. Bonnie took time to chat with us a few times and showed me how to play her musical instruments - a harmonium & a gamelan. She let us sample noni juice from fruit growing in her yard and gave my mom a little Buddha to take home because she overheard her saying she wanted to buy one. She even did our laundry!
A handful of stores and eateries were within walking distance, and many other places & sights were a short drive away. Overall, a fun and rejuvenating experience that was a feast for the senses on the lovely island of Maui.
Bonnie was very hospitable. The space was very beautiful and nestled in a nice neigborhood.
A vacation off the beaten path is the kind of vacation I like and we got that staying with Bonnie. She was a wonderful host and shared ideas for things we could do that you wouldn't find in a travel guide.
The house was very warm and welcoming. The guest room was cozy and comfortable. I wanted to take the pillows home with me. The bathroom was a little paradise of its own with a rain shower and a beautiful clawfoot tub.
I also received a sound and aroma treatment from Bonnie that I found blissful and transformational. I hope to return to Bonnie's little paradise one day. Thank you, Bonnie!
My fiancé and I have just returned from an incredible trip to Maui! We stay at Bonnie's place for the week... and we can't wait to get back there for another stay!!! Haiku is a wonderfully quiet spot on the island that leaves you in a great location to venture to beaches, the countryside and anywhere else you'd want to adventure on the island! Bonnie provided us with a warm and welcoming home, along with all of the resources and recommendations to make the best of our week in paradise. Bonnie has created a calm, peaceful and comfortable space to relax when you aren't out taking in the site and activities on the island. Enjoy your stay!
