Interaction with Guests
I welcome guests from all over the world into my home/B&B and enjoy interacting with them as our flow allows. I respect your privacy, yet am are always available for questions/concerns. Helping with ideas and places to explore on Maui.
My neighborhood is central Haiku Town. A historic plantation town. My home is an authenic plantation house, built in 1919 and was occupied by the plantation manager and family. His office was also run out of the house. It has since been fully restored. The center of town is a 3-4 minute walk where you can choose from many eateries and a local market is available to you.
There is a public bus in the center of town but it does not go around the entire island. It comes on an hourly schedule throughout the day. It will take you to the airport, but you can only board it with a carry on and small back pack. A rental car will ensure you full access to the island.
Nonsmoking/drug free house. Children over 3 years of age welcome. Please no strong perfumes or colognes. Please make yourself at home and feel free to communicate your needs.
Bonnie was a very welcoming and gracious host. She immediately made us feel at ease, and right at home. I felt as if we had already been staying there for a long while, even though it had only been a day or so. The house was beautiful, and very comfortable. We really enjoyed all the amenities that were available to us, such as the use of the washer and dryer, as well as her open kitchen, and fridge space. The bathroom was also very nice, with a lovely open shower. The location of the house itself was extremely convenient to many locations. It was everything we could have asked for in a guesthouse, and we look forward to hopefully staying there again at our next visit!
Bonnie is very nice. The night when we arrived she waited for us even she had to go to a party. She really takes care of the feeling of hers guests and shared with us many things about Maui and Hawaii. The house and the room are exactly as published on the host page. The area is Haiku on the wet side of Maui and is easy to go to everywhere if you have a car. With the public bus we went to the airport, Lahaina and Kihei. But it took many hours to go and back. However we enjoyed the great views on the way.
The house is great. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable.
Thank you for everything, Bonnie.
Bonnie was a truly wonderful host. She made us feel welcome immediately. She is warm, kind, and sharing. We are very happy we stayed at her house. The room is very nice with beautiful views of lush gardens. We had our own refrigerator and we were able to use the kitchen to prepare about 50% of our meals while we were on vacation (saved a lot of money!). Her house is impeccably clean and we loved that we were able to recycle and compost. One of the very nice perks: she did our laundry for us!! That was so great! One of my favorite things: the shower--it was so nice. She also provided us with many tips on exploring the island and where to go for groceries. She was accessible and friendly but not invasive. We loved our morning chats while we ate breakfast. It was a much better experience than staying at a hotel. Thank you!
Bonnie was a wonderful host. Respectful and supportive of my needs.
The house was comfortable and worked for me. For those who sleep lighter or latter in the morning, earplugs are helpful, due to street noise.
Thank you for its affection and reception with my sons, you were very special and you adore its house of the elephants, you have a magical touch.
Thanks a lot fir its hospitality
It forgives my imperfect English
My pregnant wife and I and our two year old daughter stayed with Bonnie for a week in January. From the moment we arrived Bonnie greeted us with a big hug and made us feel at home. The space is very peaceful and relaxing. The house and bedroom was more than big enough and is kept very clean and tidy. Lots of toys and instruments for our two year old daughter to play with. The garden out front has some great herbs and fruits and the shared kitchen has everything you would need for cooking meals at home. We cooked dinner at home at least 4 times throughout our stay. The guest bathroom is also quite nice with a fancy bathtub which our daughter enjoyed.
Bonnie was a great help, answering any questions we had and helping out with the laundry whenever we needed it, a huge help and much appreciated. Bonnie is a former midwife and has all the equipment so she also offered to let us hear our baby's heartbeat which was a treat.
Haiku is a great little authentic town with a few decent dining options. After seeing the rest of the island we would definitely want to come back and stay in Haiku.
We stayed in the guest bedroom in the main house. As far as we could see the only potential drawback is the room doesn't get direct sun in the morning and the house location is located on (relatively) busy Kokomo Road. Convenient for walking into town but you can hear the cars on the road at night and we had to keep a close eye on our daughter in the garden to make sure she didn't dash into the road. I imagine the other bungalow in the backyard is even more secluded.
All in all we had a great stay and hope to see Bonnie again next time we are on Maui.
Very cool house with an interesting history in a local community. Bonnie is very helpful and respectful. We really enjoyed our stay in Maui.
